The staff went out of their way to be helpful. They were exceptional. The hotel was excellently located . The buffet breakfast was very good. The room was very comfortable and all the contents from the towels to the beds were first rate.

The communication between Booking.com and the hotel was non existent. We specified no stairs ( lift) to our room but the special room we booked was reached by stairs. We were reassured after booking that this was accommodated but there was no communication with the hotel so we arrived to find we could not have the room we booked. We had to accept an alternative which did not have what we booked. More serious was to be told by booking.com that dinner was 35 E per person. This was false. We were mislead by booking .com. Our social media warning will depend on their response. Was it a deliberate lie to deceive customers? The hotel was great but not really suitable for wheelchair residents. Temporary ramps deny independence and can imply disabled guests being felt to be a nuisance.

Great location close to plaza Moyua, walking distance to Guggenheim and old town. Lovely room, bathroom good size, with nice products . Best feature, very good bed, plenty of pillows. Staff at check out very friendly. One night we went up to the beautiful rooftop bar, where the staff was clearly overwhelmed. We let the management know, and they apologized with a nice surprise in the room. Unnecessary but much appreciated. Shows they care about their clients, even the non-premium ones 😁

The window is small (and view on some alley and stairs). We knew this so okay, but it means there is a lack of natural light in the room. Overall we had the idea that they try to be fancy but it's lacking in details to make it perfect.

We had a very good stay at Ercilla de Bilbao. The hotel is very centrally located and is a short walking distance from all main attractions. The neighbourhood is gorgeous and very safe. The common spaces of the hotel are nice and clean with a 1970s vibe. Great roof terrace despite not having a pool but a good size and modern gym. Our room was of a decent size, good for two people. Great to have underground private parking to leave your car - this felt very safe. The staff were wonderful - particularly Luis at reception.

The wifi was not working in our room. There is no swimming pool at the rooftop - we did know about this before booking. The decor of the rooms needs an update - especially the bathrooms feel a bit dated.

A lot of noise was heard from the street and corridors. The windows and door did not insulate the sound well.

The whole hotel experience is geared towards being top class. and it comes pretty close. From the welcome, to the staff being helpful with info on Bilbao to the overall facilities.

Just 2 things. Service in the bar/restaurant is very slow. The staff run around like crazy but food guests take priority and we were sat there for 20 minutes just waiting to order a drink and a further 10 for it to arrive 2 nights running. And whilst the rooms are pretty immaculate the bathrooms seem dated. Marble floor grubby and the shower was terrible. Had to hold over head with hand and very little pressure. That said everything else was amazing.

Highly recommended for staying in Bilbao. The room is very comfortable and included useful services such as an iron and an ironing board, Nespresso machine with complimentary capsules, free water and a very kind welcome gift (delicious macarons and a voucher for a free cocktail at the hotel bar). Great position in the city centre, at the same time very quiet. Excellent continental+English breakfast. Very kind staff, always smiling and ready to help.

A really minor issue, however despite the tea bags in the room, I could not find a kettle. I have to say that I have not asked the reception though.

It is not often that you book an hotel which looks good on the internet and it then far exceeds your expectations. The Ercilla did just that. The staff are incredibly helpful, friendly and professional. The fabric and ambiance of the building are excellent and it is spotlessly clean. The room was spacious with well maintained facilities. The quality of the breakfast was superb and the staff so helpful it was like having a personal butler. We highly recommend this truly excellent hotel.

The one aspect I found disappointing was the in-house parking. It was relatively expensive at 22€/day and there were no electric vehicle charging facilities, which an hotel of this quality really should have.

1.) The roof top terrace is nice. 2.) the staff was very friendly. 3.) The limited equipment in the gym was new and the gym was very clean. For a hotel gym not too bad.

1.) It was very hot the first day and the aircon wasn't working in our room. We were not offered another room but received a discount when we checked out (that part I liked...). 2.) There was always a queue in front of reception which seemed to be understaffed most of the time.

The staff were very pleasant and always wanting to help. There is a good choice for breakfast, the room was good and the location is excellent.

Not being able to understand and control the air conditioning. Someone should show how it works. Some customers unwilling to share the lift (elevator) and this was when one lift was not working, so, it took a while to get to where you wanted to go. The Wi-fi was not great. A bit unstable. Sometimes great and other times it was poor.

Great location in Indautxu area. Easy walk to Guggenheim, Museo Belles Artes etc. Two mins to Indautxu metro station. Very comfortable, quiet room. Bed great. Shower fantastic. Hotel staff so helpful and friendly.

Bedroom a little on warm side and AC control not working properly. Wi-Fi only average. Kept being knocked off and having to log in again. Breakfast pricey at €25 per head so we went to local cafes instead - much better value.
