The hotel is basic. Breakfast is free use of a coffee machine and some small edibles, biscuits, muffins , croissant. There are also vending machines for crisps, chocolate and soft drinks. There is a little bar serving food next door The hotel is on the island in the middle of the river. There is a new bridge . If you walk over the bridge you are in the Duesto neighbourhood full of little bars and restaurants. It is a 25 min walk to the Guggenheim, area a bit further to Old Town . Its a flat riverside walk or cycle but many place to take a break along the way

No issues

I Liked the location of the hotel, set on an island in the river. The location was quiet, although there is a lot of building development close bye, but the double glazing in the hotel was excellent and you could not hear any outside noise when the windows were closed. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the shops, bars/cafes, metro, etc. There is an excellent bar/café right next door to the hotel providing hot and cold drinks, tapas and snacks. The hotel itself does not provide meals, but there is a free hot drinks machine for use in the mornings and late afternoon/evening. There is also a vending machine that takes cash for snacks, etc. The hotel has a large lift to all floors. The room was of a good size and I did have a chance to upgrade for a price, but I choose not to. The double bed was very comfy, there was a desk and chair, bedside tables, a comfortable arm chair, wall mounted TV and a phone for internal calls only. The bathroom and shower was of a good size and towels were provided. Everything was clean and modern despite the building being established. The hotel is family run with the owners living at the premises. On check-in you are given a does and don'ts sheet which was very useful and check-out was easy, just depositing the key in the box provided just outside the check-in desk. The hotel is fully secure with CCTV and a swipe card to gain access to the hotel and your room. I will return to Bilbao and will definitely use this hotel again.

I liked it all, but some may want to consider the daily walk to the main facilities and back. As mentioned, there is a lot of building development going on next to the hotel, which may worry some, but I did not find it intrusive, or off putting. When the building work is completed the area will look upper class and desirable.

If you want a quiet and comfortable room in a nice area overlooking the river, away from the noise of the downtown/city centre area then this is the place for you. There's a bus stop nearby, or you can walk along the river to the centre which takes 30 mins or so. As for the area, it feels very safe. Even late at night there are people walking their dogs, exercising, walking along the river.. around near the hotel is very quiet. I've travelled a lot through Latin America, and more recently around Spain and this area is probably the safest I've felt anywhere, and it's a very pleasant walk to and from the centre.

Nada.

The stuff are super nice and very helpful. They draw every important place and area on a map for us. The free snacks and coffe were a delight at the morning. :)))

The area seems a bit far away at first, but the metro is 10 minutes by walk. The island consturtion plan was the idea of Zaha Hadid, and still a lot of bulings are not finished. You can go there by a bridge named after Frank Gehry. So there is a lot of on-going architecture history happening there. Don’t be afraid. :)))

The owner of the Place are so welcoming and nice, they even invited us for a Family lunch but unfortunately we were not able to make it because of a busy schedule. The room is spacious and clean.

Well, the situation of the roads now make the location of the hotel confusing and misleading, due to construction most of the roads are close, it took us about 20mins to find the exact location of the hotel but after a few tries and countless u-turn we finally found our way to the hotel, after the bridge there is only one more traffic light which is a bit confusing coz on the left says No Entry but the Hotel is on the left side of the road, what we did is we break the rule and enter the left way and voila we found the hotel!

During my stay at the hotel, I found the owners to be incredibly friendly and helpful. They provided us with a map of the area, highlighting some beautiful walks to take in the city, as well as pointing out the main points of interest and giving us some tips on good, cheap pintxos restaurants. While the hotel wasn't located in the city center, it provided a peaceful and quiet stay, free from outside noise. Although our room wasn't very large, it was perfect for two people, with a comfortable double bed, a desk, and a small armchair. The bathroom appeared to have been recently renovated, and everything was clean and well-maintained. Although breakfast wasn't included, there was a dining area with cakes (muffins, cookies) and drinks (coffee, milk) available for customers to help themselves in the morning and afternoon, which was a nice touch. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable stay.

One potential drawback of the hotel was that the surrounding area was under construction, which may make the area less appealing. However, it's worth noting that the hotel itself isn't responsible for the construction, and we didn't experience any noise from the works before 8am. Despite this, the area felt safe, and we're sure that once the construction is complete, it will be a beautiful place to stay.

The owners are so friendly and helpful !! thank you for keep our bags prior and after check in. Also, thank you very much for help us to get a taxi to the airport. beds are comfy, room and bathroom are very clean and the area is very quiet for a good night of sleep. there is a tube station 12 min walking distance.

I liked everything, but as the hotel is in a little island is bit “tricky” to get in and out all the time.

not expensive, clean and basic as you would expect from a 1 star hotel. 20 - 30 min walk to Bilbao centre. Overlooks the river and is next door to a little bar.

We had a room for 3 ( adults) which was a bit too small. I would advise getting the bigger room if you are 3 adults. ( ok if 1 was a child) The photo I looked at before booking must have been the more expensive room for 3 and looked considerably bigger. Coffee and other hot drinks are provided in the lobby in the morning and evening but cannot be taken to your room. ( maybe they could provide trays so you could take them to your room?). You had to drink them in the rather dark and depressing lobby. They should consider opening the blinds to let more light in. When we stayed (June) there was no access to the roof garden with the sun beds, only to the downstairs garden which could be really nice with a few more chairs and tables.

The staff/owner were extremely nice. The facilities are clean and quiet. The hotel is located in a small island, so our room had a very calming view to the river. It’s just a 15m walk away from the city center, but there is also a bus.

- romantic view on the river out of the window, located on an island - university quarter with grocery shops, cafes and churches - bar/cafe next to the hotel with a nice bartender (selling also local beer) - bathroom was gorgeous and very clean - staff was extremely nice to us, very likeable and considerate, explained to us how to get around the city and all - buffet with a drink automat machine and cakes available down in the hall

- far from city centre if walking by feet (20 minutes approx.)
