Hotel De La Paix

This hotel is nicely located 4 min walk away from Interlaken West (not Ost), which is convenient for you to access all the major attractions in the city. The decorations in the hotel are very vintage and nostalgic. The staffs at reception are very nice and efficient, the check in process was really quick and smooth. The staffs will also give you some coupons and visit card so that you can save some money on transportation and tickets. The breakfast was delicious, my personal favorite were croissant and cheese. On the whole I enjoyed my stay here.

There are a few things I think that can be improved. The wifi connection is very unstable, sometimes I couldn’t connect to it at all. There were some bugs flying into the room in the night time. There was no curtain in the bathroom window, so the sun ray just shines directly onto your back burning you while you are squading on the toilet. The shampoo and soap are provided at very limited amount, the shampoo was for both hair/body, but they only provided one pack, and also refreshed with only one pack each day, which was not enough, I hope that the hotel would be more generous with the shampoos and soaps.

This family run hotel is a wonderful place to stay. Less than 10 minutes walk from Interlaken West train station in a quiet area just away from the main street. The hosts Hermann & Charlotte are a lovely couple and nothing was to much trouble for them to make all their guests have a comfortable stay, in fact all the staff were helpful, kind and polite. My room was clean and comfortable. The dining area was bright and spacious, the breakfast was quite decent too. The furniture and decor in the lounge area's are of an antique design, which gave the hotel a very homely and relaxing ambience and also featured lots of beautiful ornate clocks. I loved my stay here and would without any doubt stay again if I return to Interlaken and wouldn't hesitate recommending this hotel to others.

There's absolutely nothing that I didn't like about this hotel.

Central location in a very quiet residential area of Interlaken close to the rail station (Interlaken West); very pleasant hostess and breakfast serving staff; hotel is endowed with 'old world' character and various antiques add to the overall quality environment; rooms seem to be airy and fairly sized with own balcony (ours did); very clean room and overall hotel interior; attention to detail is evident.

The breakfast, though more than adequate, could be improved both in terms of quality (of some items) and through inclusion of others; the soft feather pillows are not for everyone - but no alternative was available; our 'double' bed was just 2 singles joined together - leaving a rather uncomfortable 'gap'.

The location is terrific right by the Interlaken West Train Station. The staff at the hotel was extremely responsive and helpful and agreed to allow me keep chocolates I had bought in the refrigerator in the kitchen, which was very kind given that it was hot and I was afraid they would melt. The room is a good size and is a terrific value for Interlaken.

It is hard to fault the hotel on this but the room was not air conditioned, but there was an electric desk fan. It was very hot during my visit so I had the fan directly next to the bed to stay as cool as possible during the evening. The value of the hotel was still very good, so I was willing to go a couple of nights without air condition to stay in this hotel.

The staffs are very helpful and actively to answer my questions, gave me advices to make trip plan. That's valuable to every client I think. Additionally, she (or the hotel) has a dog, always sit quietly at the door side, welcome new clients. I like the grandmother dog very much.

I find a piece of towel has some yellow stains dots on it. Then I asked to change, the staff immediately do it and I fully understand it is not her fault. Every people could meet the similar embrace situation, just change a new clean one. That's fine! This is not a complain, only a little piece of cake!

The staff was so helpful and friendly. They gave us a pass for free bus/train fare in the city. They provided maps and advice about the sites we were visiting. Because we booked a triple room and there were only 2 of us, they gave us breakfast for free. The entire hotel was decorated in an old style that was absolutely charming. I wish we had been able to spend more time enjoying it! Breakfast was incredible and would have been well worth paying for. Adorable coffee service in a pot just for you at your table. Far exceeded my expectations.

We could not figure out how to operate the heat. The temperatures were mild enough that it was not an issue. I am sure the staff would have helped if we had asked.

Generally helpful staff, fluent in English and Swiss. Decent breakfast, Excellent location. A short walk to amenities, but on a nice quiet street. Old historic building, but solidly built without the creaks and groans one might expect.

Bathroom is very small. Was overcharged from what was specified on Booking.com when I booked the room. I paid when leaving and was then charged tax on top of the rate that Booking.com clearly said included tax. Owner was very inflexible and left it up to me to take it up with Booking.com. A poor end to an otherwise excellent stay. I would rate the facility higher except for that.

If you want to avoid the busloads of tourists and overpriced dining options in Interlaken Ost, then this hotel is a lovely option. It's just a few minutes walk from Interlaken West station in a quiet area with mountain views yet minutes away from many dining and shopping options. The hotel has real character and the proprietors are welcoming and always happy to help. Our room was clean and comfortable with a lovely terrace that faced the mountains. Breakfast was the best we had on our trip.

Our bathroom was a little small, but other rooms have larger bathrooms. If you looking for a bigger shower, best to ask for a room that has that.

This beautiful hotel/house was very traditional with ornate decor. It even had a lift which was a huge relief as my luggage was heavy. My room was ultra clean, bright spacious & had 2 windows which was much needed & most importantly the bed was comfortable & lovely cotton sheets unlike other properties I’d stayed in that area. The staff were great and the location was perfect. Lovely quiet street & perfect mountain views. Would definitely stay again.

There was nothing to complain about. It was perfect!!!
