The location is what makes this place. The room was basic (although clean and pleasant), but the location on the lakeside could not be better. The balcony was as big as the room, and I was lucky enough to be there for a fireworks display that the balcony basically gave me a front-row seat for. The staff was friendly and helpful. The Wi-Fi was fast enough to suit my needs.

I mean, for the price, what more could I expect? This isn't a luxury hotel - no bath, no refrigerator, basic breakfast. But for the price, and that location, it was a perfect place to stash my stuff while I went out, and to sleep when I was done going out.

From the moment we walked into the reception area we felt welcome and cared for. Monique and her colleagues were friendly, attentive and very helpful. Our room was very well-designed so the space was used to best advantage and there was plenty of room for our bags and belongings. The bathroom had everything it needed and the bed was comfortable. The view was stunning! Everything was exceptionally clean. The breakfast room was lovely - overlooking the lake - and was available throughout the day for free tea and coffee. The breakfast was excellent and generous, with a great choice. The location is great, actually having a back door which gives access almost directly to the train station. The train made travel to Lugano and to Bellinzona very straightforward. It is easy to walk to Ascona, and the cog railway, cable car and chairlift to Madonna de Sasso, and beyond to Cardada is a short walk from the hotel. The lake front and ferry terminal are directly opposite the hotel. When we decided to stay an extra night we had to change rooms, but the staff made it very easy for us and gave us a very good rate for the additional night. This is a charming and welcoming hotel.

Location is great, just next to the lake and main street, as well as main train station, where you can also park your car cheap. Clean and quiet room with huge terrace and lake view, friendly and very supportive staff. Free coffee anytime you like in the hotel restaurant and free bicycles to ride around.

Expected better breakfast, at least some scrambled eggs and sausages (there were boiled eggs, variety of yogurts, some meat and cheese). There is no fridge in the room to cool down your fruits, beverages or snacks.

Perfect location. My room had a balcony and view of the lake. Pleasant breakfast room and good breakfast. Thanks for constant access to the tea/coffee machines.

The man at reception was too friendly and chatted for ages instead of getting me checked in. I had to return later for the Ticino card and yet another time to pay the tax. He needs to be more efficient.

Perfect location, right on the lake. Martin at reception was wonderful: looked up train schedules; made recommendations for activities, and facilitated use of free bikes. Fabulous service! Breakfast was also wonderful! Great selection of very fresh and healthy food!

The room was comfortable with a wonderful balcony overlooking the lake. Only complaint is the the shower is small.

Excellent locations, directly in front of the lac, hotel provide coffee and bikes for free use, Martin was very helpful and give good advise about car parking, and about other facilities. All attractions are in walking distance from hotel. Breakfast was excellent in the balcony of the hotel, looking at the lake.

The location was unbeatable. The two things that I love the most about this property were the access to having a bicycle that we could ride the whole entire time of our stay and unlimited use of the coffee and tea machine in the breakfast room day and night.

we were four people two parents and two young adult children and our family room was quite tight. Also the description stated two bathrooms but really it was the toilet separated from the shower and sink bathroom. So because we had a family room it was a very small room. Had We just been two people the room would’ve been very spacious. We had a lovely balcony with a partial Lakeview.

The hotel is awesome! The staff are really what made us love the place, and want to come back, but the rooms are super comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Our patio was so great, and the location in the lake can’t be beat.

Location is a short walk from the train, bus, shops and a great gelateria Staff are super friendly and attentive. Clean room with a lake view, nice breakfast, tea and coffee available the whole day. I would definitely consider this place if visiting Locarno again.

Our room was not spotless clean. The interior design is a bit outdated.
