The staff! Jules and Patrick were fantastic as well as the gentleman on reception but didn’t get his name. The hotel dates back to 1959 and it felt very cosy sat eating the delicious fondue, drinking wine, watch the snow coming down outside! A lovely stay and will definitely come back here again. The COG railway was literally 2 minutes away and a novelty ride to and from the centre of Montreaux plus it’s free if staying at the hotel.

We had an absolute great stay. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful in all regards. Our room had an amazing view of lake Geneva and Montreux. The front of the hotel you could the fog rising from the forests and covering Mt. Rochers de Naye and when it clears up - simply unbelievable. The train station is only a few paces from the hotel, which can take you directly up to the mountain peak (hiking to the top takes a while, but the views are worth it) or down to Montreux itself. Breakfast was great, but the evening meal was five star!! It was the perfect way to celebrate out 30th wedding anniversary. (They even played our song!!) Truly a magical getaway.

If I must name one thing, it would be that the hallway to our room, if you didn't hit the light switch, was extremely dark.

Location is just out of the world. Fantastic!

The meal at the restaurant was lovely but the lady taking our order was a bit rude. She pushed us to order one mains per person and we as asians share our food as we dont have that much appetite. We planned to have 3 meals for 4 of us but she refused to give the fourth plate stating that the fourth person wont be eating thats why we order 3 meals vs. 4. This is not how you do business woman!

Excellent location above Montreux. Easily accessible by road or the funicular railway. Restaurant is superb. We had the Veal and Lamb. Both very well prepared. We ate on the terrace overlooking the lake and watched the sun go down. Magical!

Don’t plan on going to bed early, the restaurant is open till late and is very popular. If your staying in the summer there is no air conditioning in the rooms, so you will need the windows open to get the cool mountain air, but you also get the noise of the revellers too. Didn’t bother us, but I will probably bother others.

Great location. It was lovely to not need to use the car for 3 days as there was lovely walks straight from the hotel and the train stop was only 3 minutes from hotel which takes you straight into the middle of montreaux ( free of charge) .

The restaurant is really nice and welcoming with the open fires and friendly staff . The one thing which i find so over the top in price was 1/2 liter beer costed us 10chf and the 300ml shandy 6.50 never been charged sooo much anywhere else !

Amazing views. Room was spacious and comfortable. The girl at breakfast was very helpful. We had dinner on both nights of our stay. The food is good and service was very good on Saturday not so good on Sunday. The restaurant manager on Saturday was very efficient. On the whole we had a good time.

A small fan in the room as well as coffee facilities would help. Some extra pillows would be nice too. With regards to the restaurant what spoiled it for us was a long hair in the ice cream. This was immediately changed by the staff when informed, but non the less an apology and the ice cream on the house would have shown good service. The price of the ice cream was a negligible amount to what we spent on the meal. The gesture would have been appreciated rather than the monetary value.

The view was amazing, as is the ride up to the hotel on the train - it was just beautiful! 10/10 for location.

The shower sprayed water all over the bathroom, water got into my make up case... It wasn't a massive deal, but I expect better than that when paying so much for one night's stay. I also went to the bar for a drink after checking in and just couldn't get anyone to serve me. But the place was lovely and I'd still recommend it!

Amazing views, lovely food and evening staff all superb.

Morning staff were poor tbh. We had to catch a train at 0809, with breakfast starting at 0800. We tried to see if we could have a coffee or orange juice at 0750, but they were pretty rude and didnt allow us in until exactly 0800 (to a buffet). Not sure they were capable of smiling but maybe they'd had a late night or something. Be aware of this if you plan on staying here and getting the Golden Line from Montreux (at 0935).

The location is fabulous. Not for its proximity to Montreux but for the amazing views. However, as it is so close to the train to Montreux, it is really not a problem. If we hadn't stayed here, we would not have seen the magnificent views. The restaurant was excellent, the staff was friendly and provided great service. The complimentary limoncello was a nice touch.

The room was a little small. The breakfast could have been better. Perhaps some fresh fruit and a better variety of eggs.
