Fabulous view of the lake, excellent central location, good facilities with Spa, pool & gym. Bellagio Restaurant menu was lovely & the food was delicious & elegantly presented. Great coffee too. Loved our large room with a balcony overlooking the lake.

Breakfast was expensive. For the price I expected a la carte option or at least an egg chef. The buffet was standard 3 star. Scrambled eggs were runny, bacon strips small & lukewarm, no variety of bread. I had to ask for mini bar to be replenished as well as the glassware. Inconsistent service depending on the staff member. Sometimes we could sign drinks from the bar to our room but on one occasion we had to pay immediately. Sinatra bar closed very early & was never open when we wanted to drink there. No aircon in the lobby area on level 3 and was stifling.

Greta quiet location on the montreux riviera down a but from the crowded busy areas. A stroll to the jazz garden via street and a beautiful walk from the back entrance along the riviera with amazing displays of flowers and great views across the lake. Pool & spa included in price. Good private raised sun deck. Rooms are clean with enough room for a couple of nights stay. Small bathroom. Bedding, towels, room all spotless and very relaxing. All staff are courteous and more than willing to help everyone out. Fluent English spoken also by all staff.

Nothing against the hotel but all of the hotels in montreux up their prices significantly for the Freddie mercury birthday celebrations at the start of September where lot of rooms double in price. Parking could be cheaper. Breakfast Fr35 was too expensive for an “American buffet”

The location of the hotel is exceptional - not too far from the railway station, easy to reach by feet, but a bit away from the noisy touristic crowds, at the very edge of the lake. Nice beds, towels and bathrobe. A positive surprise was warm floor in the bathroom and good drainage in the shower. Lots of storage space in the room is also a plus. Breakfast was decent, although a bit "dry": no free options for omelette or Benedicte eggs, no one offered to bring coffee, etc.

Major negative surprises were: small and cold swimming pool - no fun; very poor noise proof; pre-historic hair dryer and no complement water bottles in the room (sending the guests to the tub is not very hospitable, from my view). In general, the hotel is quite dated and needs renovation.

The lake front view was magic. The room was well appointed and a good size with a twin basin bathroom. A very good breakfast buffet could be eaten in the garden by the lakefront. The parking was convenient.

The hotel systems were a bit haphazard. Some days we got face cloths, some not. One day the glasses and cups were removed and not replaced. We were given 2 different instructions on how to utilize the parking, quite different ones. But generally the staff were friendly and helpful. The air conditioning was noisy

Great location in Montreux, literally on the lakefront of Lac Léman (Lake Geneva) - an easy and beautiful 10min stroll (or 3min bus ride) from Montreux main train station. For those so inclined, a great base from which to take much longer walks along the lake in either direction, e.g. all the way to visit Chateau Chillon, and of course from which to visit all of Montreux and surrounds, including the infamous train journeys available from Montreux heading up into the mountains and regions beyond. At the right time of year, you're in the middle of the action for Christmas markets/ Montreux Jazz/ many other festivals and lake events. Although the style/decor of the hotel is a bit "dated" (think 70s-80s thick carpets/ gold fittings, etc), this is still a 5* Swiss hotel: all facilities and amenities, service, reception and views are top class. Having spa/wellness on site is a definite major plus, and the cuisine and restaurant service was top notch - making for an overall very comfortable stay and I'd certainly stay here again.

The location is good, the room was spacious. The continental breakfast options are good, as are the pancakes. I liked the window blinds that made the room pitch black. The TV was good, many channels, but miles away from the bed.

The welcome at reception was not very friendly, but rather robotic. The receptionist took a long time and many attempts from my side to accept my request to pay for the accommodation upon arrival. Neither the housekeeping staff nor the spa staff that I met spoke any English, only French. when I went to the sun terrace during my spa visit, they advertise drinks and service from the bar, but not once did anyone show up to check if anyone wanted to order anything. I went to sit in the outside area of the Sinatra Bar one evening and it took forever to be served. However, the waiter was very friendly and spoke English. The hot breakfast options were tasteless, and the staff again not very friendly.

This hotel was a real gem. We stayed in Switzerland for 19 days in mostly 3 star hotels. We finished with 5 nights in Montreux. The Royal Plaza is a true 5 star priced like a 3 star (CHF 270 per night). We had a gorgeous room with full lake side view. The room was spacious and clean and very comfortable. (Full AC and real soft beds). Bathroom was well appointed and very clean. The maid did a good job of keeping the room clean. Short walk on the promenade to the boat docks and one bus stop from the train station (route 204). Staff very helpful and friendly. Room did not include breakfast so we chose the continental breakfast for CHF 15 per person per day. Not many breakfast choices around the hotel. Restaurants in Montreau are expensive and not very good. We found a fantastic Tai restaurant on the lake a 5 minute walk from the Hotel. Mai Tai Restaurant. A true treasure. We ate there 3 times and if you like Tai food you must try it out. Another travel trip. Do not miss Vevey a 5 minute train ride on the lake. A quaint and beautiful lakeside village oozing with French charm. Restaurants are very good there. We found Lausanne a bit disappointing. If you have time try the walk down through the Lavou wine vineyards from the hill village of Chexbres (get there by train from Montreau and switch at Vevey) down to the small and quaint village of St Saphorin. About an hour downhill through the vineyards with a beautiful view of the lake. There are signs post along the way telling you about the practice of managing vinyards.

The hotel restaurant was very expensive and not very good.

Been here a few times now. Wonderful location on the lake, well sized well equipped room

Looking a bit tired and dated now - could do with lighter decor in bathroom - dark, no daylight - but everything works well as you’d expect from a Swiss hotel! The balcony shades automatically come down for a while during the afternoon, blocking out the sun - no idea when that’s going to happen not when they’ll go back up

I’m far from attentive when booking hotels etc. This time, I misunderstood the room layout, leading to me and my daughter sharing a double bed. The hotel was understanding, generous and offered us a room I assume is 50% more expensive. We greatly appreciated the generosity. The hotel is located close to Montreuxs centre. There is no need to use the free public transport ticket the city includes in the tourist tax, at least if you’re only there to wander in the city. Gorgeous location, pleasant atmosphere and personell. Affordable, among the competition. There’s not much to not like. The spa was appreciated by my daughter and we both had a pleasant visit to Montreux. Some of the credit goes to the hotel- thanks!

Maybe because I’m not travelling a lot, I was surprised by the sizeable additions to the room rate advertised. Parking 30 Fr. per day, breakfast another … eh, 26? Even if the breakfast was fantastic, it wasn’t worth the price of a full restaurant dinner. With the tourist tax that I guess there’s no escaping, the actual cost of the night increased by around 50% compared to the price I thought I agreed to. I was still happy, but I didn’t love having to pay substantially more than I had planned.

Visited during annual Jazz Festival. Staff was up for the challenge as they were efficient and friendly. We were well warned before arriving that there would be some extra "noise".

It would be nice if booking.com would rate wifi by speed. It was hard to get and maintain 10mbps and even email struggles with attachments at that speed. wifi60 would mean we could expect 60mbps, for example. Otherwise, this team did a great job.
