Amazing hotel in the centre of Zurich! The hotel has a great charm with the combination of the 'old' outside building and the new, modern interior. The staff is very helpful and attentive, the room was large and super clean, there are two 'public' rooms/options on the ground floor where you can work (incl. free coffee and tea), there is even a little terrace at the back of the hotel overlooking the river 'Sihl' - you feel like being in a secluded little 'paradise' in the middle of a busy city! Also, there is a restaurant inside the hotel serving great meals - lunch, dinner as well as breakfast. I will definitely consider staying at Boutique Hotel Helvetia Zurich again.

Stylish and clean...and with the gorgeous, aromatic Soeder soaps etc. The room was excellent. I greatly appreciated the hotel's little communal riverside terrace One could make oneself a cup of tea in the common room and sit out to drink it. A lovely touch. The fabulous historic building has great atmosphere. Very enjoyable breakfast as well...again on a flower enhanced terrace.

It is a little off centre...good or bad?? ..and by being so it is within a 3 minute walk of the magical Botanical Gardens...which make a delightful pre-breakfast visit.

Wonderful location in a cozy and atmospheric old building. Really centrally located with many attractions and conveniences within walking distance. Our room was spacious and inviting. There is a lively bar/restaurant attached to the hotel. Staff were very helpful and arranged an airport transfer for us. We only stayed for one night at the end of the trip but definitely wished we had more time to enjoy the hotel and its surroundings.

If arriving by car, the parking/luggage drop situation is a bit confusing. You essentially have to drive up onto the sidewalk and park in an open space adjacent to the hotel while you unload your bags before finding paid city parking. This wasn't necessarily intuitive but once I called the reception for help they were able to explain the process clearly. Other than this minor inconvenience, the central location of the hotel is one of its most appealing assets.

Very good location - walking distance to metro (1 min), tram(1 min), main station(10 min), old town(10 minutes) Glad we received earlier check in as we request in our reservation. The lady from the reception was so kind and explanatory! They booked us a trip for the same day we checked in! Make sure you book a "large room", as others are too small in my opinion. One of the best price options in Zurich downtown.

The noice isolation was poor. We heard the tram very clearly in our room which was on the 4th floor. It was a little hard to fall asleep as this was even after midnight. Very,very limited breakfast - for the price we paid..

Location is perfect, 2 min to the train station, 5 minutes to shopping area. Excellent value for the money. Good restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff

The room has direct view on a road, and was missing sheer curtains for privacy during day time

The Hotel Helvetia is in an excellent location in Zürich, with plenty of nearby restaurants and a short walk or tram ride to all of the highlights of the old town. You do pay a premium for a room, but all hotels in the area have that premium cost. What set Helvetia apart for us was the excellent staff and atmosphere of the building. My girlfriend twisted her ankle on our trip, and the staff were incredibly accommodating and considerate of our requests to help her manage. The bar and restaurant are also fantastic; you might want to make a reservation for dinner! It's a popular place.

The setup of the AC is a bit haphazard, with the hose of the unit just sitting on the windowsill to pump the hot air from the AC outside. But having AC of any kind in Switzerland is an uncommon luxury, and we definitely appreciated having it on some hot summer days!

Staff was very kind and helpful, wifi was stable and fast, the restaurant on the ground floor is quite good, and there are also nice, comfortable and useful common areas on the ground floor with free coffee (e.g. library, terrace with river view). Buffet breakfast was good and tasty with enough variety of choices. Location is great, just by the city center, perfect for sightseeing.

Location is great but on the other hand during the night it was quite noisy (specially the tram). We traveled in summer, so window must be kept open because only an air blower was available for temperature control in the room.

Stayed for two nights. 10 minute walk to center . Bed was very comfortable. Loads of restaurants and bars nearby.. Reception staff very pleasant. Would stay again.

No tea/coffee machine however but kettle available on request. Would be nice to be able to make a coffee in the room.

Bed very comfortable. The toiletries were fabulous. They smelt divine and were the best we have encountered. The room had great air conditioning and the iron was good as well. The bar at the back was lovely with great service. The free tea and coffee was lovely in the morning in particular as we sat on the back verandah and watched and listened to the river flowing by. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. Great to have a lift in the building too.

Nothing to be honest except it is a bit of a walk from the station with a heavy bag and backpack!

Absolutely delightfully decorated hotel. It smelled like fresh linen everywhere. The library and living room for having tea and coffee were so cozy and wonderful. Rooms are very clean and bathrooms quite spacious. Hotel is situated in the city very close to main railway station. Had meatloaf and rosti at their restaurant - absolutely delicious. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful especially Mr Lars who gave lots of information on what do around the city. it was Easter time and the hotel distributed baskets with chocolate bunny and eggs- so thoughtful! We had a most wonderful stay.

The pillows could be better- all other bedding very comfortable. Being in the heart of the city, the trams noise is quite prominent, but this can’t be helped- no fault of the hotel.
