A lovely boutique hotel in the Old Town. Exceptionally attentive staff. Bright clean compact room with comfortable bed and all the necessary amenities. Only drawback was no air conditioning. The staff explained that air conditioners were generally not permitted in the Old Town. The room had two Dyson fans that were effective. The staff also made recommendations as to how to optimise the effectiveness of the fans and how to ensure the room was as cool as possible. The location was terrific. Sadly Zurich Fest was was in full swing and that meant huge crowds of people and overbearing noise but, that was not the responsibility of the hotel. As far as our experience at the hotel it was overall very good.

I was promised a baby crib. They brought a mattress and promised the second day we'd get the crib. We never did! Also, the room was extremely hot. I woke up many times at night because of the heat. They had prepared a fan but it wasn't a good solution.

The location of the hotel was great for travelers using the efficient Swiss train system and sightseeing in Zurich. Close to train stations, situated in the historic downtown with all its charm, close to the river and the Swiss history museum. The woman staffing reception was welcoming and helpful with answers to all our questions about restaurants, transit advice, and helping us get flight boarding passes. Her English was perfect, though she was able to switch languages for other guests as well.

The hotel is in a historic area where central air can’t be added. They tried had to overcome this with high tech fans in the room. We did fairly well by opening windows, but during hotter months, it would be something to consider.

The location is good but you can not enter with a car to leave the luggage since the hotel is in a pedestrian street. It is clean but no air conditioning only fans. Very good products in the bathroom.

We came after 7 and there was no one to explain that we actually had the view from the room that we paid for. We tought that they didn't gave us the room with the vies and actually never get to see the view. From the room the was no door for a terace. Probab;y it was somewhere outside the room. So check that before coming!

The breakfast was lovely and the service friendly and prompt and efficient. The location is excellent with the very frequent tram service just 1 minute walk away. The view from the roof terrace was just lovely too. The reception staff were very friendly (as were the locals) and very helpful. The Junior Suite was comfortable too.

The one little surprise on arrival was the access to our roof terrace. It was an electric set of steps which came out of a loft hatch. We found it quite quirky but you would need to be firm of foot to use it.

No air conditioning in our room on a hot couple of days

We booked the top-floor apartment for a stay with two adults and two kids. It's a very spacious apartment on two levels: bedroom, bath and terrace above, with living room, kitchen, bedroom and split bath below (toilet and tub are in two separate rooms). Everything was clean and comfortable and at least perfectly adequate. A couple of areas were really excellent: the upstairs bathroom and the terrace with view of the Grossmünster were particularly nice (see photo). The kids could have shared the large bed downstairs but preferred to split and one slept on the couch - the hotel kindly provided extra bedding. The hotel reception is open 8am to 8pm but with the apartment booking you're pretty independent. Would absolutely stay here again. Note: if you come into Zurich HB and switch to the trams the closest stop is Helmhaus on line 4 - very easy walk without major hills or cobbles. But it's almost as easy to walk from the hotel to Stadelhofen station and from there you have a direct connection to the airport.

The balckout shades upstairs could be better - if you're bothered by light in the morning you may want to bring an eye mask. Shades for the downstairs sleeping area were fine. Be aware: the hotel reception is in a separate building from this room - it's literally 5 meters away on the other side of the narrow alley. The elevator goes to the 3rd floor but this apartment is one further flight of stairs up.

Centrally located in the Old Town, the hotel is within easy walking distance of supermarkets, restaurants, cafes and fast food as well as the Central Train Station. The rooms are clean and tidy. You can hear the outside noise on a weekend. That did not bother us at all, but might be an issue for some people. With the window shut though it was not an issue.

It would have been nice to have had one or two more English speaking TV channels. There were very few.

everything was perfect, very good location next to all the sightseeing in old town, near tram and train station. Very friendly staff.

in hot summer days, it got very hot in our room and there was no air conditioning. It also depends where youre room is located, ours was right into the sun the hole day. There was a fan in the room, but it didn’t help much. However, It’s still a minor thing, summer is something to be happy about :)

We stayed in the penthouse apartment and this was amazing! Beautiful interior, very spacious in apartment and the bedrooms. Great bathrooms, one of the en-suites has a huge shower! Lovely roof terrace with table. Kitchen has all amenities needed. Great central location. Option to store luggage if arriving before check in time.

The only thing would be there is no air conditioning. However, the property do provide dyson fans.
