Ambience Hotel

The staff were absolutely brilliant; the room was spacious and spotless; breakfast excellent.

Initial problems with wifi in the room - it took until day 4 to solve this. But there was always good wifi in the foyer, and the staff were very responsive to complaints!

BREAKFAST : the BF area can accommodate around 42pax. Usually crowded unless you eat after 9am. By which time, some of the spreads are not replenished. BF selection is limited but you can get by with a decent meal. No hot station eg sunny side eggs, etc. ROOM : The configuration of each room can defer. I stayed in Rm 803 where the closet door gets in the way with the shower door. The height of the bed is on a low side but comfortable. LOCATION : 12-18mins walk to the train stations depending on which train lines you take. So, it is not so ideal especially when you are tired. But taking Uber is affordable especially if you are a group of 4. The plus point is that there are many restaurants on the left side of the hotel. LAUNDRY : You can wash, and tumble dry your laundry on the 10th floor. Detergent is provided free. STAFF : Friendly service staff which can help you with your itinerary, etc I have stayed in this hotel in 2015 & 2023 for 5 nights each time. Somehow, I felt that my experience in 2015 is better than 2023. May be I have grown older and expected more. Nevertheless, Ambience is still a good hotel to stay if you dont mind the longer walk to the train stationsFa.

The room rate is not cheap considering it is a 3 stars hotel and the distance to the train station. These days, most hotels in Taipei provide breakfast as an option. At Ambience, breakfast is included. If you prefer to venture out for local or simple breakfast, then you may not consider Ambience.

It was clean, bright with great WiFi and breakfast!

Location wise - a bit far from where my family is located (East of Taipei City), which is not a huge issue.

The room is very similar to what is pictured. Their breakfast offers limited but varied enough items, primarily for Asian tastes. There was always egg, bread, porridge + toppings, rice, fruits, and sauteed veggies. The hotel is between the green and blue metro lines and has nearby bus stops under 300m. All their staff are also very caring and welcoming throughout our stay. The morning front desk always offers bottled water every time we go out. And the housekeeping staff are dependable and trustworthy.

While just a minor thing, I would prefer that windows have a sheer curtain under the black-out curtains. The indoor lights are bright enough, but I like natural light.

We had a wonderful time in Taipei staying in the ambience hotel. Despite what other reviews were saying, the location of the hotel is perfect. You are exactly between the blue and green line and even the red line is accessible. These bring you basically to every corner in the city. The room was comfortable and the staff super friendly and helpful. We got a free room upgrade as soon as we checked in so we were able to have a nice city view as well. Every day when we left the building the staff gave us a little present for our day eg water bottles or tissues to clean surfaces. The breakfast is good for locals and foreigners alike. Here is something others do not mention: this hotel is super close to the japanese district. So if you are into karaoke bars and japanese bars in general, you can walk there in 5min. We had two funny very long evenings there. I highly recommend this hotel and definitely plan to come back when we are in Taipei again. Thank you for everything :)

Everything about the hotel was exceptional and we are sure to return back to the hotel because of the experience Steve, Andy and their team gave us. The staff were courteous, super clean and comfortable rooms and washrooms, great location ( centrally located), great breakfast spread which was super delicious- we were amazed by the variety served on all the eight days we stayed. Complimentary night snacking too were provided at the reception area between 9 pm and 5 am. Steve left us a thank you note as he wasn't around while we checked out on the last day ! We are avid travellers and have stayed in multiple hotels, this was the first time we felt deeply touched while leaving a hotel, we felt like we were leaving our home ! Thank you for the experience team 🙏 We'll come back for sure.

Firstly, I love that the staff are friendly and attentive. The breakfast selections are great - they have everything for almost everyone (vegetarians, people with allergies, etc - though I wish they label their breads) - just be there earlier because some of they don’t refill the trays anymore near the end of serving time. The bed and the room are generally clean. It’s not near any metro stations but a stone’s throw away to a bus stop.

Not exactly a con, but I wish the bathroom floor were cleaner. It’s like I know the floor was cleaned before I got there but it already has some markings that makes it look a bit unclean. The markings were probably because the tiles have aged and due to the fact that it’s always wet.

We were booking accommodation in Taipei over the NY period Dec-Jan, and everywhere was at peak pricing, so we looked at hotels away from the big chains (which were astronomical). We came across Ambience, and what swung it for us was the rating for customer service. And we were not disappointed!! We had a really lovely welcome- and the reception staff are 100% the most attentive and helpful staff I have ever encountered (even in the 5*+bracket) and it made our stay so enjoyable!! Thank you to Mei and all of the team….we have so many thank yous for your help - from talking to our car hire co, to restaurant bookings- all amazing! IN FACT, we booked BACK IN to this hotel when we returned to Taipei later in our trip, despite plans to book into one of the big brand hotels near 101. It’s small and cosy, but so welcoming and comfortable. We loved the location for walking to many districts, getting taxis to good restaurants, etc

Nothing really! Only, teeny, tiny gripe is that breakfast is a little cramped…sometimes having a bit of a squeeze between tables. But that is honestly all I can think of!!

Everything at this hotel is perfect. The services provided by the staff from check-in until check -out are beyond mind expectation. Just ask them anything at the lobby counters and they will make things happened easily. They helped to book for tour (they even packed us a cookie bag without request + borrow us umbrella in case of raining), guide to buy train ticket complete with suggestion for attractive places (with list of what to eat, do -everything proper on print-out map). I enjoyed the breakfast, free-flow snacks, in -house self -service laundry. All is perfect. 6 over 5 star!

Walking to nearby metro stations can take up about 15-20 minutes. But this is Taiwan - you can just literally walk via small alley (it's totally safe) and i can make it in 10 minutess.

Breakfast had a huge variety of yummy (and healthy!) foods, I especially appreciated the range of fresh fruit and veg. They also had some delicious local delicacies! Rooms are clean and spacious, beds super comfortable, there are laundry machines on the 10th floor, and the staff are super duper friendly, warm, and helpful! Super good value, I would definitely stay there again.

I cannot fault this hotel at all, I really thought everything was wonderful! The after care from the staff is also wonderful. I loved the hotel, but the friendly and helpful staff was the highlight for me.
