The Tulia Retreat Hotel and Spa is truly a retreat. We stayed two nights--late afternoon and evening after a five day, four night safari--and the next night after touring the Arusha Natural History Museum and Masai Market. That gave us plenty of time to relax in the beautiful pool and gardens and enjoy the hospitality at this oasis. We had all of our meals during our stay at the hotel. Delicious food. Gracious and friendly service. For example, we asked the desk to call us a taxi. They apparently were unable to source one within a couple of minutes, so the day manager drove us into town himself. We took a motorcycle rickshaw back from the market which was an adventure.

great location, very nice staff, very clean place. If you are expecting luxuryous accommodations, this isn't the place. It is pretty good value for money. they arranged airport pick up in Arusha, drop off at Killimanjao and the driver was on time, vehicle was in great shape and it was value for money.

breakfast choices were very limited. I went for breakfast after an extended family group of 7 had eaten and there wasn't much left. One of the items on offer had been pancakes and i had to ask for some since the serving dish was empty. They did bring me some, but only a couple of small ones and by the time I had left 15 minutes later, they still hadn't replenished the trays.

It’s a small hotel with lovely gardens in a very convenient location. It’s a 15 minute walk to the clock tower with plenty of eateries nearby.The area is quiet and very safe. The hotel was very clean and their staff especially David and Henry were very pleasant and helpful.

Some things were in a state of disrepair. The bathroom door could not lock . The toilet was dripping.Just small things that could be easily repaired in my opinion. They need to maintain the rooms especially the bathrooms. The food at the hotel was a little pricey. Entrees and accompaniments were charged separately.

The rooms were spacious. The lounge area was perfect for reading and eating dinner even. The pool and garden area are lovely and spent an enjoyable afternoon relaxing around the pool area. The hotel is quiet and better than staying in the centre of Arusha where it can be quite noisy. The walk to the town Clocktower is about 20 minutes along a dusty, busy road, but definitely doable and nice not to have to rely on taxis. The staff were always ready to help. Never mind those fancy pricey hotels - the Tulia is just as good for less money.

The room was quite basic but comfortable with a huge bathroom. We loved the swimming pool and the garden. The location is great - in a quiet area but close to a few great restaurants and across the street from shuttle bus station, which was important for us.

The breakfast could be better with more options to choose from, but we didn’t mind that much. There was no problem with having breakfast earlier than 7:00 which we appreciated very much.

The management team – Jane and Henri – were first class. Even the cook, Topac. They were very attentive to client’s needs. For golfers, it is only a 25 minutes walk to the golf course.

The facility could use a better Maintenance person. Work done was sloppy and areas that needed some work (minor), were not observed, therefore not attended to.

We enjoyed our stay because the place was homily and yet provided us with all the essential services. The quietness of the place was excellent. I enjoyed the morning breakfast. The food was excellent.

Very beautiful hotel, the garden was so lovely and quiet, truly a retreat. The interior, especially the main dining area, is small but well decorated and intimate. The bedroom was basic but clean and well kept. The bathroom was very lovely, the shower was amazing, the water pressure was very good. A lovely stay in Arusha, the nature around the hotel is outstanding, I will definitely stay here again, and highly recommend.

Great pool and gardens. Staff were brilliant. Especially Nicolas and Jane. This was my third stay this month and Nicolas remembered my meal order from a week ago.

Some rooms could do with some maintenance. Slow flowing drains and water leaks around the shower the main issues.

Such a quiet location with wonderful garden and grounds and a pleasant swimming pool.

The kitchen service was a little slow but the food was wonderful and the surroundings so pleasant we didn't mind the wait.
