I cannot say enough amazing things about Hostel One Art and Gallery. A family friend and I stayed for a few days, but actually extended our stay because of how amazing our experience was here. We stayed in the mixed dorm area and had an excellent stay. First and foremost Math and his family were the most accommodating hosts. Upon request, we were able to have our sheets and towels changed so that when we knew we had a long outing during the day we could come home to a clean bed. Math was incredibly helpful whenever we were trying to make plans, pamphlets are included for recommended activities around Chiang Mai, but Math and his family went above and beyond by also arranging reliable transportation often times at last minute notices as well. Laundry services were not provided in the house, but down the street for 100 baht a kilo (about $3 dollar/euro as of 2022 including wash/dry/ folding). Location wise- the hostel's located intimately in the heart of the old town of Chiang Mai, you have easy access to historic temples, cute restaurants and cafes nearby, as well as the Kalm Museum which is free (100% recommend as well). Everything in the city is easy to access fromn there, but the hostel is tucked away for you to feel like you're still removed from the excitement of the city. Fresh fruit, water, and coffee were readily available every day. We were incredibly lucky to also stay with some incredible guests and made some fantastic memories here. Of my trip to Thailand, this was the best hostel experience I had by far, the hostel is big enough that you can meet a variety of people that come in and out, but also intimate enough where if you choose, you can easily get to know everyone (staff included) if you're looking to make new friends. I highly recommend that you visit Hostel One Art and Gallery and booking a stay with them. The price, experience, and memories we made here were unbeatable.

Super beautiful hostel in a really calm are and super small streets in Chiang mai old town, super relaxing. You can do everything in town just by walking! They offer free water to refill your tumbler, which is super great in Thailand when it's small plastic bottles sold at 20 baths or more everywhere. Nice family business :) Lockers outside the room not to wake up everyone, so the dorm is really calm.

Indeed not a social hostel. Met only 1 person during my stay while the dorm was full almost every day. That's true that the aircon is turned off from 11am to 5pm, so it's really really hot in the dorm. But well, that's great for the planet and you can use fans available on the terrace

Everything. Our family room was essentially a suite, consisting of bedroom, sitting room with Netflix, dressing area, and bathroom with very good shower. Also a small balcony with table and chairs. The doors and windows all had mosquito screens, a bowl and washing powder were provided in the room in case you needed to do any small items of laundry (never had that anywhere else before) and free tea, coffee and water were provided in the downstairs kitchen. There were lots of quiet areas to sit, and Math on reception was always kind and helpful. I cannot fault this place. I've stayed in far worse expensive hotels.

Nothing.

We had a fantastic stay here! Pros: the most helpful, polite staff we have come across in our travels, even helping us to arrange laundry service from a nearby business; clean facilities and comfortable beds; safe and secure hostel in a central location; easy check-in and we were able to keep our luggage stored before and after check-in; and a great value for the stay. I absolutely recommend a stay here!

The only thing that was bothersome was that the AC was not available until 1700 each day. The weather was incredibly hot and humid and having AC throughout the day as we were in and out would have been ideal. That said, the AC was nice and cold when it was on and we slept comfortably even in the humid conditions.

The beds were really comfortable and the aesthetic of the place was great. Looked like it was family owned. The staff were helpful.

It was clean but not spotless. sometimes the drains in the shower were blocked with hair and the bathrooms sinks needed a wipe.

Excellent hostel, very quiet and clean. The family running it is very nice and helpful. I had some work to do and the wifi was good enough while it was super quiet even in the evening. Good atmosphere and comfy beds in the dorm

The whole building and the atmosphere, which is really chill and cozy. I like the terrance and home feeling floor. Math is super helpful with native speaking english and he's always there lol.

The slight smell in dorm room, I think it's from the material of the bed(bamboo?). No air conditioner during the day time, which is kinda hard to me cause I don't spend the whole day outside, or some day I just don't wanna go out, but the weather in Thai is super hot. If they can provide a bigger fan in the room would be nice.

The property was in such a good location! And really beautiful in the communal areas, I loved sitting on the balcony to talk to my new friends or FaceTime family back home!

The dorm rooms are so dark, it feels like the middle of the night throughout the whole day! It made me feel a bit suffocated! But thankfully the communal areas are really nice, I just only used my room when I went to sleep! And was out most of the day anyway!
