Everything about my stay at Sultan was excellent. The breakfast had a good selection buffet, the rooms were cozy and warm, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the best part was the rooftop terrace which we were able to enjoy in the morning and during sunset time for a drink. I had booked this property after seeing so many instagram reels about the hot air balloons flying over the hotel’s rooftop but unfortunately, during my stay, the weather conditions did not allow for them to take off the entire week. Felt a bit gutted but again, I got to fully enjoy the hotel and its facilities. Guests at Sultan are allowed to use the swimming pool at the adjacent hotel which is a partner hotel but I didn’t do it - I visited in November and the weather was cold. As Sultan is located on the hilltop, we get amazing views over Göreme. The center is also a short walk away (about 9 min). You should visit!

A very warm welcome from the staff at Sultan Cave Suites. Our suite was very comfortable and we felt very at home here. It was great that we could park our car right outside the hotel. The staff were very informative and helpful about excursions that we might want to book. Anything we asked reception for (an iron, or bottle opener) they brought right away to our room. The hotel is very beautiful and the views from the roof terrace are magical.

Due to the style of the building there is not really any soundproofing for the room so if guests are making noise outside the rooms early in the morning its very loud. We also didn’t think the restaurant lived up to expectations based on the reviews we had read, the staff were not as friendly as the reception staff and the atmosphere felt a bit tense. This made it harder to enjoy the meal, the food was ok but it was quite expensive so we expected a more welcoming and relaxing experience for the price we paid.

The views from the roof terrace, watching the balloons in the morning, it was spectacular! The balloons came right down so close to the hotel. The bedrooms were lovely but had poor lighting, , the restaurant was fabulous, the roof terrace bar was great. The atmosphere in the bar roof top terrace in the evenings was really good. The food in the restaurant was delicious. The complimentary breakfast and trip to the organic farm was wonderful. IBRAHIM who took us was great!

A bit too busy in the mornings with guests from other hotels, ( I guess from the same hotel chain), going into the roof terrace in the mornings to watch balloons. I would have thought that the roof terrace would have been exclusive to Sultan cave hotel guests only as we were paying a premium rate to stay there. Too many people all dressed up and queuing to take instragram photos on the "fake" set up breakfast at sunrise.

The buffet breakfast was really good with a large variety of foods. The restaurant is excellent. The views from the terraces were stunning. The room was well appointed, very clean and very comfortable. At night the room was very quiet. We had access to a lovely in-ground pool and spa - unfortunately we didn't have time to take advantage of this.

Our room was large and well appointed - but it was on a lower level so it was very dark. The wifi is not secure. It would be better to provide some form of password protection to access the network. the price was on the high end - but our experience is that its the same in every country since the pandemic.

Location to watch the hot air balloons is amazing - when they fly. But still breath taking views even if they’re not. Word of warning though sometimes when they do fly the wind takes them around Göreme, so the picturesque photos you want with them in touching distance may not happen. Breakfast is one of the best I’ve had anywhere, a lot of options and all fresh. The staff are extremely helpful and attentive even with the smallest things.

Pillows are extremely hard and so are the beds. Air con isn’t efficient in cooling the room at all, we were opening the window at night to allow a breeze in to help. Hotel bit on the pricey side - plenty around that looked good with terraces, just not as high.

The service is impeccable- staff go above and beyond to help you, from recommending restaurants, advising you on pharmacies including opening times, where to watch sunrise etc. they are super friendly and highly emphathetic - 100% best part is the client service

We were in room 319 and the restaurant / bar is right above which is VERY popular given its viral rooftop - loud music and customers walking and moving their chairs, it went on till 11pm-12am and was really hard to sleep. If you sleep before 12am highly suggest you ask to avoid these rooms. They should offer discounts on these noisy room types

My husband and I stayed for two nights at Sultan Cave Hotel, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the warm hospitality, unique charm, and breathtaking views. The cave rooms are stunning and beautifully decorated, blending traditional Cappadocian design with modern comfort. Ours was cozy, clean, and had everything we needed to relax after a day of exploring. Waking up to the sight of hot air balloons floating across the sky right from our terrace was a dream come true. The location is fantastic, set on a hill with panoramic views of Goreme and the surrounding fairy chimneys. The breakfast was incredible – a huge spread of fresh, local dishes served with those same gorgeous views. We could have sat there all morning!

I loved the ambience, decor, location, and room. We got the junior suite and it was beautifully decorated and large in size. I liked the terrace for taking pictures and the different options for breakfast.

At night, there was loud music playing which shut down at midnight. It didn’t bother me as much, but I did have to wake up very early on 2 days for tour and hot air balloon ride, so I was somewhat sleep deprived. Also, the restaurant that is above the terrace wasn’t really tasty and was overpriced. I was disappointed since a staff member mentioned it was “one of the best restaurants.” Also, I did like that the hotel provided a breakfast set up for guests on the terrace to take pictures in the morning but it’s very chaotic and nerve wracking since it’s first come first served and everyone wants their picture. One of the guests was extremely rude and confrontational when he felt like he was waiting too long. I didn’t really appreciate that vibe or energy.

The location of the hotel is fantastic, as it sits on the hilltop end of town, hence providing the best views, not only over the picturesque town of Goreme, but also over the magic sunrise scenery, filled with over 100 hot air balloons. Check-in was very efficient and Ismail at reception made it all very easy, was super friendly, funny and charming. I would also like to recommend the 'breakfast in the valley', which included a fun ride in a carriage, lots of insights into the history and people by our guide Oguzhan on the way and a beautiful and tasty breakfast of locally made foods, such as cheeses, jams, breads etc. under shady trees, in an artisan village. All in all an amazing activity! Last but not least, I like to praise Oguzhan, a tour guide and receptionist at the hotel, who helped me (in his free time!), to find the right shop in town, that could fix my phone, after it's battery died. Even though Oguzhan is only 18 years old, his English language skills, his readiness to help and his friendly attitude have left me speechless. Thank you for all your help Oguzhan!

The location was nice, the rooms are clean and modern, and the breakfast was so, so delicious. The breakfast totally exceeded my expectations—they have hot breakfast!

I didn't like that we were sat down and introduced to the many tours and add-ons that we could book through the hotel, even before we saw the room. We were exhausted from travel and felt that the "onboarding" process wasn't very considerate. However, the whole city was pretty touristy so I doubt other hotels would be different about this. I was expecting a larger room from looking at the photos on booking.com, but that might just be because each room is unique in shape and size. I couldn't quite judge if our room was in an actual cave (from the original stone structures) or just one propped up between the caves.
