We absolutely LOVED this place. It was just a perfect combination of convenient central location, spectacular rooftop views of İstanbul, and stellar customer service, all in a uniquely historical building that’s beautifully, thoughtfully renovated. A big shout out to the entire staff of Meroddi Barnathan Hotel. Their personalized, caring and professional customer service made this trip to Istanbul that much more special. We felt like we made true friends thanks to the sincerity of the people that run this hotel. Kudos to them! Honestly, this was hands down the most pleasant hotel stay we had in our entire life. I would rate it 11 out of 10, if it was possible. We absolutely won’t be looking or searching for another hotel for our next trip to Istanbul.

I chose this hotel because I wanted to be conveniently located and wanted good roof views. I couldn’t have chosen better. Breakfast restaurant and dinner views are amazing. Location is great as close to galata, near galata bridge and the area is nice, arty alternative and full of nice little shops and restaurants. Also close to the main shopping street and on the other direction to the main sites.

My stay was brilliant if I have to choose something to improve perhaps the 2 step process to connect to the free Wi-Fi but honestly I was looked after really well. Would definitely recommend this hotel to solo female travellers

Incredible location, breakfast, rooftop view, historic building and outstanding staff. I left my cell phone in the taxi after arriving from the airport, they immediately watched the cameras outside the hotel, got the license plate number, made lots of calls and eventually got the police to contact the taxi and get my phone back. The staff were so helpful and amazing the entire trip. Thank you so much Mehmet and Ufuk for saving what could have been a very rough start to the holiday!

Old building so the walls are thin and you can hear creaks in the morning from the neighbours.

An excellent selection of hot and cold food for breakfast. Freshly squeezed orange juice, tea and coffee also available. There is a roof top restaurant with stunning views. The room was comfortable with a separate area with a door for our daughter. The staff could not do enough for us and spoke good English. Right next to the Galata Tower and a short team ride away from the Hagia Sofia etc. Exceptional value and service.

The shower was a little slow to drain. We were there during the anniversary of the Republic so it was a bit noisy at night but nothing that stopped us sleeping. Obviously expect the call to prayer at 6am in any area. Being picky here this hotel was the best value for location and service I have stayed in.

The hotel is really beautiful and everything is so clean. The location is perfect for a stay in Istanbul. Great neighborhood: shopping, many restaurants and bars, supermarket nearby, Galata Tower, Istiklal caddesi, Tünel and lots of nice cats :) Room: Our room was so beautiful and huge. We had a large comfortable bed, air conditioning, minibar, towels (also soap, body lotion, shower gel and shampoo was provided), TV, water boiler for tea or coffee. The room cleaning staff did a great job every day. Reception: Fatih was the best. He was so helpful, funny, nice and does his best to make you a pleasant stay. He will give you lots of useful information about Istanbul, make restaurant reservations for you, organize airport transport and he likes to talk :)

Breakfast: Actually it starts at 8AM. Every day we went up to the rooftop area at 8.15AM and every day something was missing at the buffet. Either there was not enough or no cutlery, no glasses, no bread (even half an hour later), no bowls,... Seemed like the staff got up late and wasn't ready to prepare everything on time. Rooftop Restaurant: The menu sounds great and the view from the rooftop is amazing, but again the staff seemed to be sleeping. We waited twice about half an hour only to get the menu. And it seemed like no one was interested in taking our order. And even when they served the food they messed up the order. Maybe the rooftop restaurant is better for drinking cocktails and enjoying the view than eating.

The property where the hotel is located is incredibly nice and historically decorated. - The view from the hotel's roof terrace is one of the best in Istanbul! - the cleaning was good. - the location was unbeatable! - the staff was very nice and accommodating. Especially Erkan at the reception helped us a lot with everything possible.

- The hotel has a rooftop bar that has become an incredibly popular place. However, this means that many people from outside (not hotel guests) visit the hotel just to see the nice view on the terrace. The consequences are long queues for the elevator, people running around in the hotel corridors to be photographed, and a loud atmosphere. As a hotel guest, we were unfortunately negatively affected by this because it lasted every day until midnight. I hope the hotel will do something about this problem!

We had a terrific stay here and would recommend coming back anytime. Perfect location, a bit noisy considering it is on the corner of a busy street however after a long day you have no issues with the sleep. Rooftop breakfast 10/10 would spend the day there Staff and personnel perfect they tried everything to please the guests. Helpful and kind, they even helped with my surprise to my fiancé for his birthday. Daily changed water and coffee capsules as extra and nice memories

Get ready to a busy area, old building so the walls might not cover all the noise and you might wake up hearing the mosque however there is nothing I would say I did not like

The size of the executive suite was brilliant. The location was great. The hotel itself is beautiful. The front desk ground floor staff were very friendly and so was the manager. A safe in the room was very beneficial. There is an intruder alarm lock on the bedroom, which was brilliant and added to the security.

It was noisy at times at night. The windows could possibly do with double glazing, which are facing the street. There is only 1 lift for the whole hotel customers and staff which can be frustrating as you wait a long time to actually get into one.

The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the city. Our room was a bit small but very comfortable and clean. Even though it's in the center of Istanbul, we were surprised that it was actually very quiet at night (but I can imagine that it might be different during summer). The staff was exceptionally nice and caring and helped us with booking restaurants and taxis.

When the weather is bad, the rooftop restaurant has only rather limited space which is a bit annoying during breakfast and the tables weren't always super clean (bread crumbs and coffee stains).

I loved everything about this hotel from A-Z.The interior was simply beautiful.Upon arrival I was greeted warmly by Mehmet at the front desk,he was very progressional and welcoming.He told me about the history of the hotel and its owner and also went on to state how the hotel had upgraded my room to a king size room which I was very happy about.My bedroom was beautiful and had all the amenities to hand.The staff including Mehmet were also on hand to provide assistant 24/7.The hotel was very clean and the breakfast,lunch and dinner were also very good.Dinner on the roof terrace in the evening was beautiful with views overlooking the Galata tower,the food was also very delicious and waiters were very friendly.I will definitely be coming back to this hotel it’s my new favourite spot in Istanbul,which is close by to all local attractions.
