I really appreciated the service I received from everyone that worked there. The cleaners came everyday and cleaned the place to perfection. The first room I booked didnt have a King size bed which I thought I booked so they upgraded us to the family suite which was so kind of them. The bed in that room was still hard but not as bad as the first room. Caner is amazing, I forgot my mala beads and he shipped them to me in Canada - THANK YOU CANER!!!

The beds are very hard, it was really uncomfortable to sleep on for 5 nights. I highly suggest upgrading the beds

Great location. It's a 5 min walk uphill towards Galata, and about 15 to the nearest ferry. Very quiet, with lots of nice cafés and restaurants nearby. Spacious room with a little kitchenette.

Even though we stayed on the second floor (European 1st), I had to take the elevator every time because the staircase was too steep. I've seen worst staircases only in Amsterdam. The light in the kitchen area didn't work, we've tried to explain it to the hotel staff for two days in a row, but sadly nothing changed. Not a big deal, I guess, but still.

Exceptional place, location is amazing, walking distance to A LOT of must sees in Istanbul and to bus/tram stations and ports. The staff was incredible, the room was everything we needed and more, it was clean and getting cleaned and restocked regularly. The little terrace was a nice place to relax after a day of running around sightseeing :) The cafe downstairs had a really nice breakfast, a lot of restaurants nearby, pharmacy, a book cafe and convenience store all in walking distance of 2-3 minutes. Galata is just 6 minutes away on foot but as busy and lively as that street is, walking down to the hotel it all dies down and there is a nice privacy feeling to the neighbourhood. If you are wondering where to go in Istanbul, this is the place to be - we cannot thank the staff enough for the hospitality, we will definitely be back!

Nothing, all was perfect!

The hotel doesn't offer breakfast, however the room has a kitchen which was very handy to make coffee, light breakfast and snacks during our stay. the bedroom and views from this room were excellent, including the small balcony

I think the bathroom needs some improvement. It's a long narrow room which makes it awkward to use. the shower door doesn't close properly so water leaks out throughout the bathroom. the drain was blocked so we had to limit the water flow to stop the shower from flooding

The location is super, very close to many stores and restaurants and tourist attractions. The tram stop is in few minutes walking distance, so it's easy to explore different areas of that beautiful city. But most famous sites are even in walking distance if you don't mind longer walks. Breakfast was good and room was nice.

The room was bit cold, since the weather outside was not summerly, so we wished the heating had worked better but it wasn't possible. We had booked room with balcony but didn't get it, if we pointed out about that the reception staff said hotel was full. Considering that the weather was cold, we didn't complain furter but if it had been different we had been rather disappointed. There was mentioned in booking.com that there is minibar in the room but that actually was an empty fridge. Since we arrived very late at night we had hoped to have something to drink, so that was not great finding that minibar actually was empty. Safe is available but really small, so it's not possible to fit laptop there.

The location was excellent! We were walking distance to Kumbaraci which had some great shops and restaurants. We were also downhill from Istiklal which is an awesome street with everything, and only a 10 stroll to the Galata Tower. There was a metro station just a few minutes away which made it so easy to get around. Excellent location to explore by foot.

The building is beautiful and clean and the staff were great. We had two bedrooms, one was great but the other barely fit a king bed which meant we had to shuffle next to the wall to reach the other side. It wasn’t horrible but there really wasn’t a ton of space in that room. Also the one bathroom was tiny and we couldn’t keep the shower from spilling water all over. But, those were minor issues and our stay was wonderful.

Hotel Galata 1875 is perfectly located in the cozy and lively neighbourhood of Karaköy. Within walking distance you have lot's restaurants and various streets full of busy bars, local food & shops. And you're also close to the ferry's and the bridge to Eminönü / Sultanahmet, where all the 5 star monuments are. The staff is super friendly and helpful, rooms are very comfortable with your own kitchen and daily breakfast on your terrace.

Can't think of something, and that's very exceptional. Normally it's the slow wifi, but in this case even the wifi was fast every part of the day. So excellent score for excellent and very good located hotel with op staff!

The location is very well situated, close to most attractions (by foot: Galata Tower, Galata bridge, Istiklal, Galataport); less than 200 meters from Tram 1 that takes you to Sultanahmet in 10 minutes. The hotel is cosy, very clean, and well equipped. At the ground floor there is a café and next door a good Lebanese restaurant, both serving excellent Turkish breakfast and meals. We enjoyed the quiet, romantic neighborhood, with several proximity restaurants and shops (take time to visit the Turkish towel shop - it is lovely). Many thanks to the helpful and caring staff, we felt like home! Hope to return soon :)

Was a great little hotel located close to all the main sights (or within close proximity to the tram). We enjoyed the balcony and the good service from the front desk team. We had their turkish breakfast delivered to our room which was so delicious! Keep also Lavender cafe at the bottom of the shop in mind for subsequent breakfasts :) The rooms were also very clean!

The shower drainage we had issues with but discovered if removing the plate it would drain easier without flooding the bathroom. We also wished beds had some pillow tops as they were very firm. I also think the layout of family rooms would be better to have the twin beds swapped and have masterbedroom off the balcony :)

Mr. Akın Sosyal is the best host ever. While the hotel is in an excellent location, close to most attractions in the city, clean and comfortable it was Mr. Akın Sosyal’s willingness to go above and beyond his duty to help, with utmost respect makes him a real credit to this hotel and a reason to return. I would definitely recommend this place.

A small problem with the lift for a short while but Mr. Akın Sosyal was very helpful with the stairs and carrying my bags. Many thanks.
