We’ve had the opportunity to stay at other Trump resorts and Turnberry is our favorite so far. The facilities and grounds are pristine. The room accommodations were oversized and luxurious. The breakfast in the main restaurant was exceptional and the views of the golf course were postcard beautiful. We booked the falconry experience but due to unforeseen circumstances, it was cancelled. However, we also booked the archery experience (both are on the resort grounds) and I can’t say enough how much fun we had. Kudos to every single staff person at Turnberry. You’ve made our stay truly memorable. We look forward to returning.

The hotel was fabulous, with the central lobby, 1906 restaurant, and communal areas spotless and as we expect in a five-star hotel. The staff were incredibly courteous, polite, friendly yet professional. We dined at the 1096 restaurant, and the food was superb, and the waiting staff were attentive and knowledgeable.

The breakfast was a terrible disappointment and downright failure. There was no allergy information on the food set out on the buffet or pastries, and the staff did not know whether any of the food contained nuts. The hot food was in a buffet, had been left out under hot lamps, and was inedible. I expect hot breakfasts cooked to order when staying in five-star hotels. There had been an evacuation of the hotel guests during the middle of the night due to a fire alarm, and this may have had a knock-on consequence on the breakfast service.

Location was fantastic. Amenities were great.

The cottages were not as well maintained as they should have been. It’s small things like faucets that are loose and toilet roll holders that are about to fall off. Not good enough for a 5 Star. The biggest issue we had was the bath/shower. The water constantly ran hot and cold. One evening we couldn’t bathe our baby there was no hot water. I reported the following morning to guest services and I was told there was no problem and that I had to run the tap for longer….wrong! I was so frustrated.

The check in process - despite us arriving an hour and half after the check in time, we were told the room was not ready, there was a key card shortage which meant we could only have one key card to the room, and the service at breakfast - particularly day one and two - when we and those around us had to remind waiting staff of tea, coffee and toast orders up to 30 mins after initially ordering… I’m still waiting on my toast from day two.

We were staying in a Villa and we ordered room service. As we had no table in our room we were told we could have access to the lounge in our building. But when the food arrived the lounge was locked! The member of staff was great but it took 30 mins to locate the key hence our food was cold. They did offer to re-heat it but we were so hungry we ate it cold! The Duty Manager called us and removed the food charge from our bill. That was the only hiccup the rest of the stay was superb

Doormen went over and above to meet our needs, particularly Gordon! All staff were very good.

No hot water as there was boiler issues. (These things happen!) At lunch one of our party was given a linen napkin and the other three were handed cocktail paper napkins after asking for napkins. (It was very busy.) Breakfast was not very well organised. (It was very busy). Steam room in ladies wasn’t working at all. (Very disappointing as this is my personal favourite.)

This hotel is amazing but is let down by the spa. Steam room and sauna are in the separate changing rooms so you can’t do those with your partner. Also they are tiny, I couldn’t get in the sauna, 2 people were in there. There is a bubble jacuzzi in the pool area. Pool area itself is adequate but not a big area compared to many spas we have stayed at.

Absolutely EVERYTHING. We were upgraded which was delightful. The staff are very attentive and can not do enough for you. Rooms are beautifully decorated with some stunning views! Spa is lovely and was quiet whilst we were there. 1906 restaurant is delicious, such a lovely fine dining experience. We will most certainly return and I most certainly can not wait! Thanks for an amazing stay.

The only thing I could pick at were the separate relaxation room/separate steam rooms. As we were there as a couple we didn't want to split into different rooms. Although there is a mixed sauna, we used that.

Staff were exceptional, they went above and beyond. The interior of the room was amazing. I wasn't expecting such a big room for booking the basic room. They provide robs and slippers so you can go straight to the spa from your room. Staff carried the bags to the room.

some of the breakfast items were a bit hard, i don't know if this is from sitting under the heat lamp. However there are plenty of options so i just went for something else.

A wonderful resort on a huge estate with its own lighthouse, golf course, seashore and spa. We particularly loved the concierge service who went out of their way to help us enjoy the stay to the full - one (Peter?) drove me to the lighthouse as it was getting dark and another (Gordon?) who gave us a mini tour/photo shoot of the hotel. We had lunch in the palatial clubhouse with views out to sea and dinner in the bar/restaurant - wonderful food and service. Our room was upgraded to a huge sea view room which was sumptuous and the height of luxury. The bathroom had to be seen to be believed! The money which must have been spent to restore and fit out this very old hotel and attendant building must have been massive. Everything is of the highest quality - it’s like a palace.

The only thing we didn’t like was that we could only stay for one night!
