A great find for our stay in Ayr. The location is just away from the centre, but only a few mins walk. Parking is on a private driveway, or on the road in front, using a permit system. You have use of a full kitchen, shared with other guests. Lots of little touches around the apartment, fresh milk in a small fridge was a great idea. Thanks Julie for a great stay.

Absolutely nothing.

Perfect location within walking distance of the beach and restaurants. The rooms were nicely decorated and clean, with milk and water provided in a little fridge which was a nice touch :) The bed was very comfortable. Having access to the fully stocked kitchen was great and the patio outside was lovely though we didn't use it.

Although we requested a large double, we got 2 singles in one of the rooms. It just meant our 15 year old got to take the lovely, large, bright room with large shower (that was the room with the singles ) while we had the smaller double (still nice though)

Such a beautiful place to arrive to - gorgeous house set in a stunning crescent of other beautiful houses which is close to the town centre. The house is very close to town and the beach and we parked out front and walked everywhere. The rooms are well appointed, very comfy and super quiet. The little touches are everything - nice wee tea tray with some Scottish treats and lamps with USB ports. The shared area is just beautiful and very tastefully decorated. The kitchen is equipped and we found the wee.patio a nice place for a cuppa. The message you receive before arrival makes self.check in very easy and they also provide a parking permit - thankfully as one is needed for the whole crescent. We also found the location very easy for getting to Dunure, Burns Museum, and, Culzean. A really wonderful three night stay - thank you!

Excellent place to stay, room was fantastic had everything you needed and more. Was very comfortable and relaxing. The place was very clean and felt a bit like a home away from home. The shared kitchen was spotless and had everything we needed. The bed was super comfy and they fulfilled the extra requests we asked for without any trouble. Met the owner before we left, he was very friendly and helpful. Would absolutely stay again. Thank you for hospitality.

Everywhere was spotlessly clean , I have been to several modestly priced apartments all over the country and this is head and shoulders above the rest .. A mini fridge/chiller just large enough for a bottle of real milk with a bottle of chilled water...I didn't even know I could expect that in an apartment at this price range ... beautiful high ceilings and decor ..can't praise the room and kitchen and dining area highly enough ...well worth a visit if visiting Ayr . There was more than ample supplies of tea and coffee and sugar in their own glass containers , inside the room ..no sachets , which was perfect The apartment was more like what you would find in a loving home . Even the beside table has lamps which could be dimmed or brightened with a touch of your finger on a sensor built into the lamp

The bathroom and toilet and shower area was too small for me ( I am 6'6" tall ) I have a bad back , so consider investing in a higher quality mattress to match the solid bed frame , like a tempaur mattress.. Perhaps a larger coffee table for storing the cups glasses and milk and coffee ..

This is a perfect little home from home room and we loved it. Its a charming old Edwardian house, beautifully decorated and modernised inside. Check in is with a door code and welcome envelope within, but Sean was available by text to chat. We had a query on arrival and it was answered and resolved immediately. The heating is excellent, there is a teeny fridge with fresh chilled milk and water and complimentary tea and coffee. Also, a communal kitchen if you need more. The bedroom has one double bed or you can request twins and they will separate for you into two small twin beds. There are two small chairs in the room and a good hanging/storage space. Light and power is plentiful immediately beside the bed for charging phones etc. The bathroom is spotless and the shower is large and modern with a good pressure and lots of really hot water. The property is in a nice upmarket area and there was no noise whatsoever overnight. Parking is with a permit outside the property, although we have confirmed that if we return on our motorbike instead of a car we would be able to pull up off the road right beneath the windows at front of property. Its a very short walk to numerous local restaurants and bars and couldn't be better located for the town and the sea front (5 -10 minutes on foot, max) So sorry we regret we didn't write in the book before we left but thank you very much Sean and family. We were lucky enough to meet Julie too (Mum) who was servicing the rooms on the second day. Great place, will definitely return and recommend to others.

What great luck to have booked Barns for our stay in Ayr! Our room and bath were comfortable and spotless - but the highlight was the gorgeously equipped kitchen and the pleasant dining room. We had a lovely evening taking a break from pub food and takeaways, enjoying our own supper - and breakfast!

The nearest high street wasn’t particularly pleasant to explore, but that’s not the Barns’ fault - just noting that.

In a very quite location and very close to the center of the city. Sean was very friendly and helpful. I arrived when the weather was cold and there was very nice suprise that the heat was on so the room was already warm when I arrived. Bed very comfortable, room cosy and very clean, little touches like a slippers, bathrobe, coffee/tea, tea cake, milk, water.
