Lovely B&B, parking onsite. Clean and comfortable room. Lovely host who gave us all the history of the area and the town of Ballater. Balmoral Castle is not far away, and she told us many stories of the Royal family that don’t make the papers or headlines. Drove into the very pretty town of Ballater for dinner and a walk around as it was still daylight until 9 pm at night, which was lovely. The B&B is up for sale, so not sure if the same hosts will still be there for much longer.

The room was clean and well presented with a new up-to-date bathroom. It had all the amenities expected of a B&B. There was a large choice of breakfasts and the location was superb for visits, views and localities. The staff were very approachable and knowledgeable with their advice on visits to the area.

I liked everything about it. It is situated just out of the village and was peaceful and quiet. Room was great for our overnight stay and with vies of the mountains and the trickling of water from the River Gairn. Breakfast was provided with the accommodation and was a great feed to start the day. Hosts were very pleasant and easy going.
I would liked to have seen a small fridge in the room to keep our water and drinks cold, but really no big issue.

Rob and Alison are lovely welcoming hosts, who keep their wonderful old building in good shape. The room was comfortable with a nice view and power sockets in the right places, we also enjoyed the refurbished bathroom. On request we were provided with a small fridge which we really appreciated. The breakfast was well prepared and tasty. There is ample of free parking space.
As one would expect an old house is full of noises, creaking steps and doors - although for the latter we always travel with WD40 ;-). The walls between the rooms are very thin, so that it's hard not to disturb your neighbour.

An adorable bed and breakfast close to Balmoral. We stayed the one night on our way through to Inverness. The owner was very accommodating. Our family booked two rooms, both very cosy and comfortable, with new ensuites. Appreciated the strong, hot shower after a day exploring, and my daughter loved seeing the field rabbits grazing in the backyard, late afternoon and morning. Glad we stayed here. Aussie Explorers!
Nothing to note here.

The breakfast was lovely and served hot at our requested time. What a great couple who run this place! They went out of their way to give us information about the area and accommodate my food allergies!!! I would highly recommend this spot if you are visiting Balmoral Castle and the area!!!
The only thing that was not perfect was that we prefer one bed for sleeping but we didn't book in time for this to be possible.

Tranquil Highland retreat about a mile from Ballater. Easy to walk to along ‘7 Bridges’ route. Alison and Rob couldn’t have been more helpful with lots of local knowledge. Exceptional breakfast and super comfy beds! Dog friendly too.

A comfortable, cosy, home from home. Peaceful and quiet. Very clean - lovely bathroom. Comfortable beds. Good breakfast. Friendly, informative hosts. Enjoyed watching the rabbits sunning themselves on the lawn in the morning and evening. Our room had a lovely view across the garden and beyond.

Cooked breakfast, toast and tea, coffee and juice etc. were all great and the room where the breakfast was served was very nice and looked out onto the countryside. Bedrooms were clean and the bathroom was clean and modern. Hosts at the Creag Meggan were very friendly and helpful about local places to visit.

It had character and was in a lovely setting
Some things needed a bit of updating and the duvet could have been a bit bigger size wise.
