Clean comfortable room and excellent customer service from staff. Inadequate breakfast, very little variety, whole stay was over priced.

The hotel is run down and decor needs attention. The rooms are not soundproofed and we were kept awake for hours by other noisy guests. We had to move rooms because the 1st room we were allocated was cold, dark and had a musty smell. There was no heating in next room and it was cold, so we asked for a heater. The 1st thing the staff did was look for a radiator when we had already said there was no heating in the room. A oil heater was provided. The dining area was cold. The item choices from the breakfast menu were missing. Late check after an exhausting journey.

The staff were really helpful. They were probably a little stretched as didn’t feel like a lot of staff available but they couldn’t be any more polite and friendly. The building and main areas are beautiful and one of only hotels with parking, which you do have to pay for.

Could do with some areas having an updated paint, particularly our bedroom, but it was clean and very spacious. The outside was being painted so scaffolding everywhere. The hotel is situated on a steep hill. Great location for walking into the city but not easy walking back.

We very much enjoyed our stay - we had a Garden View Room, it was quiet and with a nice view. Parking was very important for us and we were able to park easily. We sometimes walked (easier downhill than uphill!) and sometimes used the bus to go in and out of city centre and that was also very convenient. Every place that we wanted to visit was easy to reach. I would have preferred a larger bed but all the linens were nice, the duvet wasn't synthetic and the towels were lovely and soft. The room was warm. Coffee machine as well as kettle provided.

The staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. The hotel is in an ideal location to visit Bath and the university which is why we visited and the building has a lot of character. The food at breakfast was delicious although the portions were very small.

The food portions at breakfast were small and although the food was delicious the vegetarian breakfast was lacking, thankfully the continental selection meant we could go and make toast so we were fine. The hotel is in an old building and although it is beautiful and well presented it is a little creaky so we could hear the guests above us moving around a lot. The shower was also a little slow and old but the beds were comfortable and we had a pleasant stay. There is parking, charged at £10 a night but not many spaces, we were lucky and got the last space but there aren't many spaces for the size of the hotel.

Beautiful building, onsite parking, lovely friendly staff always greet you with a smile, spacious beautiful room, great breakfast plenty of choice, great location can walk down to town, although coming back up can be a struggle with a steep hill, bus stop just outside hotel reasonable priced. Good value for money through booking.com Would definitely return made to feel at home. Thanks to all the staff for an enjoyable stay.

Booked a room with city view, but unfortunately there was scaffolding all around the front, which I was aware off at time off booking but by the date we were going to arrive this was expecting to be down. I know this is no fault of the hotel just a little disappointed, the staff were very apologetic as this was out of their control.

The hotel is lovely and staff friendly. It was having works done whilst there and so scaffolding outside however we were informed this would happen and the stay did have an offer on price. As it was a trip for my mum's birthday, I had asked if possible to have a room with a nice view but unfortunately the view was too low down and with all the scaffolding outside also. That aside, the lady put some little chocolates in the room and a happy birthday note which was nice. Comfortable beds. Lots of dust around though inside also and perhaps from the works being done lately. Christmas decorations made it lovely in the main areas Breakfast was great and service was good too. Location is good for those who can walk a bit and with hills. 16mins to city but bus stop right outside hotel if needed.

Ideal location. Easy walk into the centre. However, please be aware that one mighty hill awaits your return. So you may need a taxi . As I saw no bus attempt, the elevation. Easy access to all the attractions . Again, if you're a seasoned walker. The hotel was clean and the staff were very pleasant. Choose out of Peak times. With all places. The hotel prices rocket. My room was comfortable. Overall, it was a very nice place. Bath is stunning. And with rare car parking, it's a big addition to this hotels location.

Would I be happy with paying £ 300 per night for my room. Definitely not. But as above, that's peak prices. So please risk the weather. But with it, the attractions are far less busy.

Our hotel room had beautiful views down over Bath, and the sunset over the city. Lovely old building, with great seating areas/library etc. The car park was a great bonus, safe and secure to use. Staff were friendly, and there was a lot of information on Bath and local attractions available. Great tea/coffee/biccie facilities in the room too. Bus stop easily accessible - as the warning about walking up the hill is very accurate!

We were warned in advance of the external maintenance works being carried out on the hotel during they. However this also meant the windows were very dirty - making it difficult to appreciate the beautiful sunset view.

We had a lovely view of the city and because we stayed over New Years we got a great view of the fireworks. Our room was unique and we liked that fact it was a mission to find the room at first as the place is alot bigger than it looks. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Would 100% stay here again

Our room was located opposite the door that leads to the back parking area which did mean we could hear alot of people coming and going. Continuing with the noise unfortunately who was staying above us were very heavy footed which did mean we could hear every move they made

Great location. Walking down steep hill ok but used bus to return to hotel, only £2 each. All staff were amazing, they couldn't do enough for you. Food in the restaurant, breakfast and evening meal was lovely. The library was a bonus, nice place to sit in peace and quiet. At first I was not pleased with the view from our bedroom directly onto the car park. However, this turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Having fallen whilst out walking and fracture my ankle in three places. We were able to drive our car directly to our room which made things much easier. I cannot fault the staff for their help and consideration during my hour of need. Thank you.
