Beautiful rooms and property. The spa was exceptional and quiet - very well maintained. The breakfast had loads of variety and the bar provided exceptional service. One of the best hotels I have stayed in. We were also double upgraded on arrival which was amazing! Plus complimentary newspapers in the morning and a turn down service at night made it very special

I can’t fault anything

Outstanding location, and even more outstanding service - the hotel offers almost everything you would expect from a 5-star hotel, and whatever may be lacking is compensated by the excellent staff, absolutely lovely and definitely my favourite element, special mention to the restaurant staff for being very polite and professional, yet friendly, as well as for the reception staff. The Spa is a reserved and cozy jewel, it has something for everyone and it has been optimised to be comfortable even if located within an ancient building. The restaurant is also spot-on, we tried the tasting menu and the dishes were interesting and innovative. I asked for a couple of variations to mine due to personal tastes and was promptly accommodated. The breakfast in the morning is slightly expensive but offers a varied menu. All in all, we would really go back again and again.

Our room was in the building at the back and the room was only accessible via stairs. Also, no mini-fridge was in the room. Although these didn't represent a limit for us, they might have been for someone else.

No complementary coffee, tea, infusions and boiler in the room compared to the price We asked 1 concierge for a bottle of water as it wasn't in the complementary bar, but never arrived

Excellent stay, great facilities. Small but amazing spa (nice temperature pool, great hot jacuzzi, perfectly hot sauna and steam room, cold showers etc). Excellent restaurant, breakfast and bar. Beautiful garden, beautiful hotel and rooms. Not directly in center, but only 10min walking.

Some smaller things that would move it from excellent to exceptional: - no minibar in room (need to order room service) - mattress a bit hard and blinds didn’t block out sun completely - parking should be included / allowed in front of hotel on street (valet parking is available but it’s 25 / day - and then need to call always before to get the car) - bar and restaurant could be open a bit longer (bar closed at 11pm, restaurant had last seating at 8.30pm) - jacuzzi in the spa stops every 10min for 5min before it starts again, should just run through

The location is wonderful, the afternoon tea is spectacular and all the food and produce is a complete dream.

We usually like to arrive and sit in front of the open fire with a cup of tea. This is the first occasion where we have not been offered tea as we settled in the drawing room. The quality of the massages were not as good as usual, and the range of treatments was not as good as in the past. The cinnamon butter with the bath bun on the afternoon tea was absolutely divine and this no longer comes with the afternoon tea- please bring it back, it was the best things ever.

Breakfast was incredible. Buffet and table service combined for hot and cold delicious options. Tea was lovely. The room and facilities were beautiful. We actually stayed behind The Royal Crescent building in another beautiful old building. The grounds between the two buildings have pretty gardens. There are lovely suites right in the Royal Crescent but they are, understandably, the most expensive rooms. The location is perfect. It's walkable for going into town and just down from The Circus which is also stunning. This was a bucket list stay for me and did not disappoint.

Sometimes it was hard to find someone at the desk to answers questions but that was a small inconvenience.

Wonderful hotel right in the centre of Bath's Royal Crescent. The staff were perfect, helpful and attentive. Many small details marked the stay, which shows the quality of the establishment (magnificent building, splendid interior). The room we stayed in (we had an upgrade) was on the back side of the hotel and had its own little terrace; it was very large with a bedroom area, a ‘sitting’ room, a very large bathroom and an entrance hall. We had no direct neighbours, so the room was very, very quiet. The breakfast was excellent (small buffet, and menu offering different types from full English to eggs benedict, and a vegetarian menu). The spa was very pleasant (too bad the sauna wasn't working, but the hammam, bubble bath and swimming pool were). We went there often and there were never more than 5 of us in the spa. We had also booked a treatment (‘work it out’ massage), which was absolutely brilliant (many thanks to Meg)!

The room service staff were really polite, the spa was relaxing and warm. The aesthetics of the hotel are really nice they’ve got the mix of modern and history perfected. The spa assistants are also very polite and inviting whilst giving the relevant information.

The spa facilities changing room for men are really small(not sure about the womens). We had afternoon tea but as we were seated it took nearly 30 minutes for our tea orders which I was surprised about. The breakfast was ok but the service makes up for it. Myself and my partner are a young couple and at times some staff members would not give us the time of day; in the restaurant it would feel very awkward like you’ve walked in a local clicky pub so maybe I’ll come back when I’m 40+ too fit in.

Breakfast was incredible - a huge choice, and all freshly made to order. The turning down of the beds each day was a lovely touch, plus the delivery of papers and fresh milk to the room first thing in the morning. We found the staff - in particular the restaurant host - were always happy to go above and beyond to get you anything. Cocktails in the bar in the evening were of a very high standard - we even had a personal cocktail lesson at the table when we asked some questions! The spa and gym were very quiet and well equipped. All in all, this is a beautifully run hotel, very calm and luxurious. Would highly recommend a stay here.

I did find the Spa showers could have been fractionally cleaner - often hair etc in the ladies one. Maybe more regular checks would sort this out. But apart from that, it was immaculate.

Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Room was spacious and cosy, with underfloor heating in the bathroom. The staff were super friendly and although this hotel is 5-star, it didn’t feel intimidating. It had a wonderful atmosphere.

The staff in the Spa area were mono-syllabic and a bit dismissive. Completely different from the hotel staff i.e. in reception or the restaurant. In the Spa, conversation was kept to a minimum with ‘here’s the changing room; straight on for the spa area’ and that was it. No acknowledgement on returning the locker key apart from a quick look to see where you’d put the key so it could be picked up. It felt quite different; not part of the hotel at all.
