The location was ideal for me – a charming historic village bursting with opportunities for exploration, yet offering serene tranquillity amidst nature's embrace. The house itself was expansive, boasting a spacious backyard where one could lose themselves beneath a canopy of stars in the night sky. The breakfast room, complete with a crackling fireplace, added a delightful warmth to the mornings, complementing the included breakfast, which was not only generous in portion but also delectably satisfying. My room was impeccable, adorned with captivating artwork and equipped with modern conveniences such as a full-size shower featuring a refreshing rainshower head. The thoughtful provision of tea, coffee, water, and even milk added to the overall comfort. The host exuded warmth and hospitality, sharing fascinating stories that enriched the stay. Additionally, there was a unique opportunity to engage in a local pastime, enhancing the experience further.

Delightful accommodation, nice and warm with a very large bedroom and neat en-suite. Breakfast was in the large airy dinning room with a traditional log burning fire alight in the hearth -marvellous. Breakfast was very well presented, swiftly delivered and very tasty. The owner won the Channel 4 TV competition '4 In A Bed' - well deserved. We also run a B&B called The PitStop and we won it in 2011 (series 2) In the competition it asks 'would you stay again?' The answer to Heyford House is a resounding 'yes!' The pub called The Bell (300 yards away) was where we dined that night, another good recommendation.

all perfect

Me and my partner went on a small road trip to Blenheim palace and decided to spend the night around there. Our bedroom was very spacious and cozy, nice decor and beautiful house. Breakfast was excellent, the owner made sure to accomodate all of our requests. The house has a very nice library, the breakfast room had the fireplace on which made it even more warm and welcoming. We got some tea, water and milk in our room and milk is delivered fresh every afternoon. Great collection of DVD and movies. There are some very interesting and useful instructions in the room for things to do or places to eat. Beautiful experience

Nothing bad really, or anything worth mentioning. A few harmless spiders in the bathroom, but we were in the countryside and this is the way it is.

Beautiful property in a wonderful location if visiting the Oxford area. The huge double/twin room with en-suite facilities overlooks the lovely rear gardens. It's really a suite as you also have a lovely sofa and chair, coffee table and desk with flat screen TV with DVD. Everything has been chosen with taste and comfort in mind. For an evening meal the local pub 'The Bell' is just a couple of minutes walk away. Locals were very friendly and the food, although not an extensive menu, was delicious. Good choice of real ales and cider too. There's a short walk from the property to the Oxford canal which is very picturesque. Breakfast menu is very extensive and delicious.

This is an absolute gem of a property that used to be a vicarage. My mother and I each had a gorgeous large bedroom with seating area and en suite (mine with bath tub). The views from the bedrooms were over the beautiful gardens and you really feel like you are staying in a house straight out of a Jane Austen novel. Location-wise, it's down a lane in a small village right on the banks of the Thames, with private on site parking. A stroll along the nearby river brings with it long boats and open countryside, all within a short train ride of Oxford. The breakfasts provided by Leo each morning were delicious, and the open fire in the breakfast room made it feel very cosy. There is also a shared sitting room available for guest use but we didn't need it because of the seating areas in our rooms. I had stayed here solo previously and was delighted that this return visit was just as enjoyable. I will definitely return in the future!

Unfortunately the local pub wasn't doing dinner on our first night (not the accommodation's fault but I have nothing negative to say about them!) but we went the next town over and found somewhere charming to eat. The next night we were able to walk to the pub down the road and it was a very enjoyable meal.

A house full of interesting artwork some of which was created by the family of the excellent host Leo. Very peaceful stay. Our room (no2) overlooked the expansive garden and was so spacious with a large (very, very, comfortable)bed that afforded my wife and I the good nights rest we needed. Breakfast choice was superb, and started our day off so well. Plenty of rooms in which to relax in this former rectory. Will definitely be our first choice accommodation if visiting the area again.

Have no complaints of any note. This is a family home and Leo ensured we enjoyed its relaxed atmosphere. Speaking at the breakfast table with other guests revealed that they all had the same opinion, as we did, of this excellent accommodation.

I stayed at Heyford House as a base for a couple of days motorcycling around the cotswolds and it was absolutely perfect for my needs. The house itself was well decorated throughout, the room was spacious with a comfortable bed and excellent en suite and the location was excellent, beautiful surroundings and easily accessible. Breakfast was also delicious - compliments to Leo who was a very friendly host!

Absolutely no complaints!

The place is beautiful. The gardens, the area! We were well looked after throughout. This is a lovely place to stay, we were in Room 1 and had the best view of the garden which is beautiful. We even had a go on the trampoline at the back of the garden!! The area is lovely. We walked round the area and had dinner in the local pub. All just beautiful. So peaceful.

It's an old building with solid walls so WiFi was patchy and signal poor generally in the area for us (3 mobile!). That was OK though as it was like a digital detox!

Super cosy homely feel, great amenities and all the products / things you need! Really accommodating host and warm environment. great breakfast - loved the fire! The pub round the corner was fun on Friday night, we had a great meal! The village itself is gorgeous and well connected to Bicester, Oxford, Blenheim Palace and the Cotswolds.

It would’ve been great to have a bigger bed as there was definitely space for one however this really wasn’t an issue as it was very comfy! Also, I wish we’d realised we had access to a kitchen / fridge before as we would’ve bought a bottle of wine. Or if there had been any for sale we’d have definitely bought one to have by a fire ☺️

Lovely large comfortable room overlooking the church. Excellent breakfast. As well as decor in keeping with age and grandeur of the house, there was Interesting artwork by a family member; for show and sale. Also a library of many old book that guests can browse at their leisure. Plenty of parking. Local pub ( with food) 5mins walk. Small rail station 5 mins walk, 2 stops to Oxford.

Be prepared for some train noise from line 500m away through trees, but it did not disturb us.
