If I could rate this Hotel, solely based on the Staff I would give it a 12 out of 10. They were the most friendly and helpful of people, and went above and beyond their duty for me. So much so that I personally felt as if I we're a friend rather than a customer. The Hotel only has 2 disabled parking bays at this moment in time and I suffer badly with terminal Lung cancer and can walk only short distances. The Staff took it on themselves to personally reserve the closes bay to the front doors for me, so I didn't have as far to walk. This small action on their part made a huge impact on my stay and ability to move around and enjoy my time here and out and about. On to other things, the beds were extremely comfortable, the rooms were spotless and cleaned daily, the buffet breakfast was very tasty, Check in and out was a smooth and easy process.

The only reason I have marked the Hotel to an 9 overall is the lack of disabled parking available during my stay being 2 spots, as I am sure they were more than 2 disabled staying while I was there, I understand this is in hand and more places will be provided as the revamp progresses. Our stay was in the section yet to be revamped as they are in the process of renovating the Hotel, so although the rooms were very comfortable they were also a little tired along with the corridors leading to them, with tape holding some carpets in place along said corridors.

Our 3rd time staying here. Really great hotel. Very comfortable rooms. Breakfast is excellent. had dinner in restaurant each night & absolutely brilliant service each time. We were late one night making a table booking and they still made sure we were looked after. My son has a nut allergy which they catered for without any fuss. We had an issue in the room when we got in late at night and reported it the following morning. The very friendly girl on reception couldn't have been more helpful. We packed our suitcases & went to Oxford for the day, when we came back our suitcases had been moved to another room.

The corridors need a refurbishment but that does not take anything away from the rest of the hotel & grounds

We did not have breakfast or dinner at the location but the staff gave us a great recommendation for an Indian restaurant about 10-15 mins away. (It was excellent!) The rooms were very comfortable and the bathroom was good. The price was excellent. We were going to Blenheim Palace and the location was a very easy drive. There were stories of the place being "haunted" and so we had great fun talking to the staff about that. One person in our party went running and they felt safe and there was a nice sidewalk to run on. The place was excellent and I would definitely come back!

Can't think of anything.

The location of The Holt Hotel is perfect, you are 5 minute drive to the train station- Heyford- parking is free but we walked which took 22mins, not a smooth walk as there was no path so had to walk on the road or on the bank ( when traffic approached) A 30 min drive to Banbury and 15 min drive to Bicester. The hotel it's self is stunning, has alot of character, plenty of parking with additional parking around the back. There is a petrol station opposite if need snacks etc but the hotel has a bar and restaurant, a little pricey but well worth treating yourself. Will definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family

There wasn't anything we didn't like, only the fact we had to leave. Would have loved to stay a few more nights

Upon arrival we were immediately swept away by the pittoresque aesthetic of the building. The staff, in all different area of the hotel were extremely polite, friendly and professional. I can imagine it is a very nice place to work! The hotel has a history with bad boy DuVall but what most visitors do not know is the legend of 'The Midnight Stapler"... Strongly recommend to ask about this myth and let it leave you in awe.

That our stay was too short. Next time we visit Oxfordshire we will return to enjoy this amazing hotel. Also very much appreciated how my beer was adjusted to what is regular in The Netherlands (a nice decorative head)

This is our second stay at Holt Hotel. Had a lovely room with balcony; was spotlessly clean. Great location and a short drive to Bicester village and other places of interest nearby. Breakfast was excellent. Reception staff were friendly, helpful and efficient - made us feel welcome and comfortable. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Bed and pillows were a bit too firm for us - we prefer both to be a bit softer, but that is just our preference. Soundproofing could be improved. We could clearly hear the activities and conversations of the people in the next room.

A fine medium size hotel in a very convenient location for exploring the Cotswolds. Well maintained. Pleasant outdoor areas. Excellent buffet breakfast. Nice bar area. Seems to be a favorite for small groups and gatherings (weddings, etc). On our stay there was on interesting group of vintage car enthusiasts, complete with with their cars. Very easy drive to the Oxford Park-and-Ride from which one can take a bus into central Oxford. Five pounds at the ticket machine covers parking for 16 hours plus two return bus tickets to Oxford. The bus ride is about 20 min. Highly recommended. Also recommended are the nearby villages of Steeple Aston (a 20 min walk across the fields), and Lower Heyford (a five min drive). Both have good pubs. We especially liked the Bell Inn in Lower Heyford.

The hotel has rambling hallways and many short and long staircases. It can be a little confusing and/or tiring if you room is at the back of the building and you have a lot of luggage. This is not a criticism, just an observation which may be helpful for some people.

The hotel is in a great location for the local sights. The accommodation is accurately represented in the hotel description. The room, including the shower room, was exceptionally clean and the bed was really comfortable. Having returned to the hotel quite late into the evening, on one of the nights, it was beautifully peaceful outside with hardly any traffic noise, which was surprising being so close to a busy road in the daytime. It is a treat out in the countryside.

A suggestion, a fridge in the room would be a good addition.

Very comfortable stay, with exceptional breakfast included in the tariff. Staff were exceedingly accommodating (pun?!), as we were offered an upgrade given that we didn't get notification that the restaurant was closed on our first evening, meaning we had to drive out for dinner. It was also closed on our second night, as was the bar, so we can't review dinner. Room was large and very quiet, something we appreciated given that we had 2 large suitcases.

The only thing that slightly bothered us was that there was a bulb out in the room, limiting lighting, and the TV remote was very temperamental (probably needed new batteries). The light should have been notice by cleaning staff. Also, if the restaurant is closed, you will have to drive 10-15 minutes for dinner, but recommend The Duke of Malborough or The Jolly Boatman if that is the case.

This hotel is absolutely stunning. The outside is historic and looks a little creepy, which I love. The inside is modern and just beautiful. The room was lovely, although I was disappointed we didn't get a bath in our room, but I didn't request one so couldn't be too mad! The bed was enormous and I slept so well! The food at dinner was so so good, really nice. The staff were really nice and showed us around the creepy haunted rooms when I asked a few questions about it. Great guys, especially Will, shout out to him! I do wish I took more photos but we got back to the hotel quite late each evening so didn't take many apart from the huge bed!

The breakfast was so bad, the worst coffee we've ever had and watered down fresh orange juice it tasted more like weak squash. Really rank. So we just had pastries and cereal to eat. Also the guy that served us at dinner, pony tail and neck tattoo was rude, we didn't like him at all. Talking about us as if we weren't there and spoke to us rudely whilst putting plates down.
