Welcomed personally on arrival and clearly advised of how to access carpark and security in place, how to check in etc. Beautiful room. Bed extremely comfortable.. selection of different pillows and cushions. Freestanding bath, and also en suite bathroom with shower. Plenty of towels and bathrobes, bath salts and toiletries. Adjustable air-conditioning. Large screen tv. Plenty of lighting options.
Only small points which should be attended to for a luxury property... grey skirting board in en suite needed cleaning as dusty; green LED light saver fixing in ceiling unattractive as an irregular shape and looked suspicious; doors on wardrobe one slightly dropped so design didn't match up and I couldn't stop noticing it ; crack across the plastic cover of the picture giving info on the toiletries; big scratch on the desk which could be polished up (for the price, these details should be fixed, sorry owners🙂).

The Edgbaston is located in a pleasant part of Birmingham and it made for a good stay. My room was fresh, smart and had character, including a stand-alone bath. The decor stood out. I was met by a receptionist as soon as I pulled up at the front of the premises. This was helpful as parking to the rear might have been more challenging without some guidance. All in all I'd happily stay here again.
Some insight into the immediate area left as a guide in the room, such as alternatives of where to eat, would have been helpful. I walked a fair distance somewhat in the dark looking for somewhere suitable to eat. Although the hotel had lovely interesting decor, it lacked a little atmosphere and the only daylight in my room was a skylight which was too high to give any view other than the sky.

The location and privacy is wonderful as it’s quite and peaceful. The quality of the decor is to a high standard.
I was firstly taken to a room that was thru a small corridor and then up some stairs that didn’t feel sturdy and no handrail. For me taking stairs is difficult. The interior of the room was immaculate but the view was looking out to a roof, which made me feel claustrophobic. We were changed rooms to a perfect first floor room with a street view so having a bath looking outside was wonderful.

This is a very nice building on a quiet road. The rooms range of cost, clean and white great shower and bath facilities upstairs to more grand and spacious if a little ‘masculine’ in style on the ground floor. As a solo female traveller I preferred being upstairs in a smaller (though ample) attic room than when I’ve stayed on the ground floor because it was quieter.
Slightly noisy on ground floor - no common sitting room, hall or lobby to speak of- just the entrance way then straight into your room. But the restaurant and bar across the road is very friendly and can be seen as an extension of the property if you want an evening drink, meal or breakfast

An absolute gem of a find. Usually stay in novotels which are nice enough but lack the boutique experience...and charge for parking which Edgbaston house provides free. From now on in Birmingham I'll need staying here. The check in was friendly and efficient and seemless. Parking a little hard to find initially but accept I was early and had I been at the correct time, would have spotted the message with proper instructions... my bad not theirs. The hotel feels nice inside, beautiful room with freestanding roll top bath, separate ensuite with heated floor and good shower . I'll be back ... uber ride to China town only 6 quid but I'd have walked if the weather hadn't been so awful.
Nothing really... t spoons missed off the tea tray but I had a wooden one in my bag so not the end of the world. Churlish to even mention come to think of it

Location was perfect for visiting the University. A warm welcome and lovely entrance/rooms. Was offered the option of another room as our original room was at the front of the house and the front door. But the room was spacious so we decided to stay. Bathroom was just glorious.
There was an issue with the door and we were told to keep the inside button pressed in otherwise the key card wouldn’t work. Seemed a strange thing to have to do. On our return from the restaurant the keycard wouldn’t work even though we had followed the instructions. Ringing the support number did not fill us with confidence when told their shift had finished and they lived far away. And it was assumed we hadn’t followed the instructions. But we were talked through where to find the master key card and got into our room - whereby it was confirmed the door lock button was pressed in. A little on the pricey side considering no breakfast included.

Beautiful building. The room was gorgeous and spacious.
Overall it was lovely and I would book the same room again. I would however add more visible signage to the front as it wasn’t clear where the gates to get into the car park were. The gates for the hotel looked like they were that of the adjacent building. Myself and another couple parked on the street outside and rang reception to show us where to access the car park. They showed us how to get in. On my first night I could hear the people upstairs quite loudly through the air vent, I’m not sure if they were just loud but it sounded like they were in my room at times.

Good size room. Heating excellent (it was very cold when we stayed). Good bathroom. Easy to enter and leave, once you knew how. Good free car parking. Very convenient location.
Very limited staff, this time of year. Although they knew in advance we were arriving early, I couldn't contact staff on arrival. I also didn't work out how to access the car park, until shown later ( for reference it's through a gate in the adjoining property.)

Beautiful property, situated perfectly. Room was incredible
These are just small things that the owners could possibly tweak. As there is no bar or restaurant maybe the opportunity to purchase basic drinks or make it clear that these aren’t available. There was a fridge so had I have known this I would pre purchased some before coming. Also the socket points. Our room had a beautiful dressing table and mirror however as the hotels hairdryer was connected up there was no socket to plug in my hair straighteners nearby and no mirror I could move to use making getting ready slightly difficult

The room was everything we expected and a little more. Having parking was a added bonus and made it easy to drive around Birmingham without worrying about finding parking where you are staying. The parking is secure as well as only those staying there have access. There are some nice places to eat within walking distance. The area is peaceful not like broad street. The price was reasonable and well worth it. We will be keeping it in mind on a next visit to Birmingham.
There was no microwave in the room or any where in the house.
