Location a short walk to bus stop and most local beach.Taxi from airport £28. This property is great for a non car user. Number 70 bus during season costs 2 £ a ride or 5.20 all day as many rides as you like. Not having a car was no problem. I didn't have time but was advised that Southbourne high Street a short walk away has everything you would need too. In short its an ideal location in a quieter residential area. Perfect for me. Bournemouth and farther along the coastline in both directions was easily reached. The attention to detail in every way at the property was beyond my expectations. I generally take others reviews with a pinch of salt and will admit I agree with them totally. You will not be disappointed with a stay here. I stayed in Pakenham room which was a delight with an open seating area on its balcony, all facilities including wonderful bathroom products and marvellous hanging baskets to be admired. Parking is sufficient on site or close by. The breakfast expertly sourced local products which headlines the owners ethos in providing natural and low waste lifestyle. I could go on but you get the gist!

Nothing at all. Hosts listened and provided little extras if needed. The bonus of being able to use the dining room out of hours and a small fridge with fresh milk and chilled water was much appreciated.

Wonderful furnishings, very clean and well maintained and a service that leaves nothing to be desired - an excellent breakfast, freshly prepared by the owner to order, from fresh bacon, beans, scrambled eggs, fried eggs or fresh croissants. The location to the beach, shops and pubs is very good - we not only got to know the best bed and breakfast hotel that we know (and we travel a lot) but also made new friends in southern England thanks to the warmth of the hosts. A place to feel comfortable and relax!

The location is perfect close to the beach and also close to the shops and restaurants. The host Andi and James were spot on nothing was to much trouble. A nice touch was a cup of coffee and biscuits bought to your room upon arrival. The breakfast was superb especially the home made bread. Also the pre order system for breakfast was great, as it ensured the food was fresh and hot, and avoided needless wastage.

Nothing to dislike about the Alexander Lodge Guest House. I wouldn't change anything.

Andi - the host was so welcoming- nothing was too much trouble. I really appreciated that cup of tea when I arrived. the accommodation was extremely comfortable, spotless clean and every little thing, including the provision of phone charges and oat milk, made sure that my stay was as comfortable as it could be. I particularly liked the emphasis on sustainability with breakfast ingredients sourced locally. The property is very convenient to both the beach and some really wonderful eateries. The coastal bus stops nearby so getting around with out the car is really easy, and with recommendations of where to visit by Andi I could not have asked for more. A real gem !

A very comfortable and attractive guest house. Hosts have given much care and attention to detail ensuring an enjoyable stay. I felt pampered! A great balance of feeling homely yet luxurious. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choices. On a quiet attractive street but very close to beach/shops/eateries/buses. Good off street parking. Great location to explore from or simply enjoy local area. I highly recommend.

Andi was very friendly and welcoming. The room was fantastic with a huge comfortable bed and a comfortable sitting area by the bay window. The bathroom was very modern with a walk in shower. It was too chilly to use the balcony but it would be lovely to sit out there in the summer. Andi provided us with the usual coffee making facilities and biscuits but in addition we had an expresso coffee maker, chilled water and milk with the use of the fridge in the dining room. We also had the use of the dining room in the evening if we fancied a takeaway. The beach is only a short stroll away and the local shops, restaurants and cafes are a short walk in the opposite direction. James provided us with a delicious breakfast and Andi went out of her way to make sure I had gluten free choices. Nothing was too much trouble!

What's not to like! Everything was wonderful, from the welcoming, right to the end of our visit. The room was spotless, comfy and tastefully decorated, as was the whole B&B. Breakfast was delicious. Nothing was too much trouble.

Nothing, we liked everything. The only thing I could say is maybe a small table with the chairs, to sit together? But this is by no means meant as a negative comment.

Fabulous location with off-street parking. Great breakfast buffet with choice of cooked full English to follow. I was in a single room and pleasantly surprised I had a large single bed. The room was plenty big enough for one person. Andi is a lovely host and full of advice and knowledge about making the most of the area. Great having access to the fridge in the dining room to keep things cold. I would definitely stay here again.

Water pressure in the shower was a bit low, but I understand the bathroom is being refurbished this winter and the last one to be done in the house. Water was plenty hot enough.

The property is very clean and tidy. The en-suite shower was immaculate. The bed was very comfortable giving a good nights sleep. Breakfast kept me going most of the day and there was the option to choose the items you wanted. Some thing that was really nice was being able to make tea with fresh milk in your room. It’s very clear the owners really care about their guests and make them feel very welcome.

Location perfect for access to Bournemouth, hot breakfast each morning. Owners always ready to assist with information on the area and 5 minute walk to main street where there were a number of good pubs. Off street car parking provided. At the end of the street was a headland & access to a beach.
