Comfortable, clean room. Nice garden,pool area and lounge. Lovely display of costume jewellery + handbags for sale in lobby. Excellent manageress, Sophie,in beauty+spa area. Hotel manager very helpful, visible + well dressed. Convenient to beach and town centre. Live music, decorations and ambience at cocktail evening.

The extra charge guests must pay to use the spa + to park at the premises although most hotels charge for parking nowadays,unfortunately. Sun loungers only around indoor pool. It would be nice to have a few in the garden area especially during sunny weather.

Bed was a bit worn ,as in needed to be firmer ,a little dated and attention to detail was missing Car parking now full price, used to be half price if staying more than 4 nights

The facilities at the hotel were very good

I think staff could smile more and be more engaging with customers. They were definitely good at answering questions but hardly smiled or asked how your day was. It was a very dry way or dealing with customers especially if you have traveled from a different town and are eager to know all there is to about Bournemouth.

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times and every time the service and staff have been great. Value for money is hard to find but we find it with West Cliff Hotel. Staff were amazing even when they were low on staff and they accommodated for my kids every time.

I would say, the only thing and it’s a very small personal critic as we have kids, is the fact that we don’t have mini fridge in the family room. Travelling with food, snacks, milk is a family burden and it would help (on a personal touch) if the family rooms had a fridge facility. Again, it’s a personal critic and nothing towards the hotel or staff.

The room was in the best possible position on the ground floor, no other rooms either side and easy access to the car park. The breakfast choice was plentiful and the evening meals were very tasty. Plenty of room to relax throughout our stay. Will use swimming pool and Spa next time and possibly an afternoon tea as it looked amazing.

When the car park was full, visitors were blocking the fire exit for the upper floor. We made the staff on reception aware of this in case there was a fire and people became trapped upstairs in the future.

We loved the room. I like the fact that they put the kids bed and parents bed separate room and had a sofa and loved that room has 2 tv in both the side. So parents and kids both can enjoy. And a decent size bathroom with bath tub as kids love bubble bath. Overall very nice room with amenities.

Few thing we didn't like was the lights were not working properly so we had to use lamps for all the evening and night. And if you have extra luggage there were only stairs and no lifts so we were on top floor and picking up luggage was a bit hard although staff said someone can help but we didn't ask that time so bear in mind if you got top floor to carry all the stuff.

Our room 83 was small and very hot! We did have a single fan, but as there is only 1 window and none in the bathroom - that flow of air didn't happen. My only other reason for scoring down the Q - did the hotel meet my expectations; was that on arrival, at reception, in the bar & restaurant, pool etc the hotel is perfect, in fact so much so we booked dinner in the hotel, something we hadn't set out to do, we even invited friends from another hotel to join us - but when you arrive at the room its like a totally different hotel. I was expecting the same standard to be carried through to the room, but the furniture, bathrooms etc were really out dated, for me that affected the overall experience. I imagine that the rooms will receive a refit at some point and if this is done to the exact same standards as the communal areas then I am sure overall guest satisfaction will improve.

The room

Lovely hotel, clean and friendly staff. I didn’t use the spa facilities so unable to comment on that, however my husband used the sauna which he thought was a little outdated otherwise perfect for him, he had no complaints. Swimming pool was ok, a little small so can get full quickly. No complaints about Continental breakfast. The family room was nice, spacious and very clean as was the bathroom which had a shower and separate bath. Only two things that let the hotel down, one was the air conditioning - it was way too hot in the room, we were unable to get a good night sleep whilst we were there, even the kids struggled. There other was no fridge in the room, apart from that we enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect for us.

We have visited the botel several times and went back because of the location, the swimming pool, the food, the service. we booked two rooms. My husband had a lovely light room with a view over the car park - that was fine. My room was a little darker as it looked out onto some stairs and wall not far from my window. This was only an overnight stay - so didn't mind the view - it would have been disappointing if the stay were longer. Love the hotel, staff so helpful and friendly - food good, we enjoyed a fab breakfast. The swimming pool is superb. We didn't stay long enough to use the spa but we have done before and we have enjoyed it previously. We have another booking in September with our daughter and granddaughter - can't wait! My son is coming for a week in July with his two girls - so speaks for itself that we like this hotel Thank you West Cliff!
