Staff (especially the lady on the bar who then served our breakfast the following morning) were very polite and attentive. Check in was easy. Our third visit over 10 years to this place - great location, stunning views, pleasant room but only complaint was the shower head (see below in negative) Restaurant had a great menu and was very reasonably priced. The breakfast is probably the BEST breakfast we have ever had at a hotel - soooo tasty!

The shower head wouldn’t stay in place on the bracket and the pressure of the water sprayed water all over the bathroom - made for a less enjoyable shower but still did the job

The room was very comfortable, with soft bedding and a bed which ensured we slept well. The breakfast was fantastic and plentiful. The evening meal - a carvery, was not as good but nevertheless tasty. We had treated a friend who really enjoyed her bath, in her room. We had an accessible room which meant we had a wet room. The room size and facilities meant I was able to easily navigate round and combined with a flat access, made it more suitable for anyone with disabilities. I forgot to also highlight the kind, helpful and efficient staff too. The icing on the cake!

It is difficult to think of anything except a minor point that my carvery was only warm and not hot. But i did not give the Inn the opportunity to address this, as I was so hungry 😊.

Booked this hotel for 2 nights as we were attending a wedding on the Saturday. Unfortunately we missed the check in time and forgot to contact the hotel. We did arrive the next day and checked in so managed to stay for the 2nd night. When we asked how much it would be to extend to one more night, the owner Steve very kindly gave us a complimentary night as we missed the first night. The hotel and the rooms are exceptionally clean and tidy. The rooms are very spacious and we felt right at home. The location is great and very peaceful. We will definitely be booking again. Thank you so much for making our stay very enjoyable! This hotel won't disappoint.

The whole experience was far better than we thought it would be. Great car park, friendly reception when booking in. The room was a good size with quality furniture. The food was faultless - we both went for the carvery on the night which was hot, tasty and enjoyed.

Only a minor issue - the stairs were quite steep, but the rooms could be accessed via another entrance from the car park if necessary. Also for breakfast drinks, you were served a cup of coffee and a cup with a teabag in it. Think a teapot and a cafetiere are better so you can top up if you want without trying to get the attention of a member of staff.

Nice location. Huge breakfast though as a vegetarian I went without bacon and black pudding. Quite a large double room with a desk and and a bath Well-stocked and quite cheap bar with quick service. Room cleaned thoroughly every day. Very big car park - needed on Sunday as their carvery is very popular. Pleasant rural location about 2 miles or so outside Bridgnorth.

I don't think there are any single rooms. I had a double room, which was nice, but I think I paid almost as much as a couple would. Still cheaper than similar places in the area though.

We thought the room (5) was lovely. Spacious and light. Comfortable bed, great storage, great bathroom and highly unusual in hotel rooms, a plug socket near a mirror to dry your hair. Food was great, portions good and delightful staff. We only stayed the one night but I could have easily stayed longer. A lovely, beamed Inn in beautiful countryside. Good value for money. I would recommend.

It ticked all the boxes for me.

The Down Inn provided everything we required for our three night visit to the Bridgnorth area. Our room was comfortable, the breakfast was freshly cooked and the staff very helpful. We particularly liked the back entrance which enabled us to access the car park to unload the car on arrival and later to load up when we left, without having to carry cases through the public bar downstairs.

Our room was above the bar/restaurant downstairs so there was a little noise in the evening but not late at night. This might be important for a family with a baby or children.

Location was good for visiting Bridgnorth and Ironbridge. The Down Inn is a country inn which is full of character and the carvery is excellent and very good value. All the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Very large car park. Room was clean and comfortable.

The only criticism is regarding the location of the room itself. It was close to the roof extractor fan from the kitchen and was extremely noisy. It started before 7 in the morning and was still running after 10 at night. It does not cause any issues during the day as most people are out and about. However not everyone wants to be woken before 0700 and many people want to be asleep by 10pm especially after a full day of sightseeing. The only solution is to avoid room number 8.

Incredibly supportive and amiable proprietors! We were commuting after attending a world championship and arrived at the accommodation around 3:30 AM. Despite the inconvenience, the owners efficiently coordinated all arrangements to ensure a smooth check-in process for us. Additionally, they were considerate of our allergies during breakfast the next morning, making our stay even more comfortable.

Large comfortable bed in cosy room with plenty of space for hanging clothes etc. Hairdryer, kettle, tea, coffee and biscuits. Friendly helpful staff.

A bit of noise from the kitchen late evening and the shower door crashed against the wash basin as I opened it to get in, which alarmed me a bit, but these were two minor details in an overall very positive experience.
