The room was a good size. And comfortable. They had a very good dog attitude. They allowed well behaved dogs, most places. They had a good sized garden to let the dog stretch her legs. The staff were kind and very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was excellent. The house and garden are both well presented with good parking facilities.

The shower was hot if you ran the tap for a while but very low pressure. Took a while to get the shampoo from your hair. They could have a dog bin in the garden as it's hard to dispose of little bags from your dog when you are staying in a dog friendly hotel. Dinner was fine dining and tasted great if you like small portions. You really need to eat the three courses to fill you up, plus a few potatoes for a grown man. But it was well presented.

Location was perfect for what we were in the local area for. Beautiful countryside all around. Food was great and staff were friendly. The property was clean as well.

No complaints while we were there however I sent the property a message a few days after our stay about an item I had left behind by mistake and to this date I haven’t had a response which is disappointing.

Our weekend away in this hotel was brilliant. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. Nothing was too much trouble and more importantly they loved my two little dogs who were excited to meet everyone. The location was superb and I have no doubt we will be returning in the near future

There was nothing to dislike

Good location with the hotel sitting in nice grounds in a quiet location Really good breakfast in a lovely bright room flooded with natural light as you watch the pheasants strutting across the lawn

The shore was nice and hot but not very powerful, a fine spray only

A good looking, grand old building, clearly loved by the owners, in a quiet country hamlet. Impressive orangerie used as the restaurant and a well-stocked bar with relaxing fireplace and everything from a good variety of local ales and gins, an extensive wine menu and cocktails. Very happy to find the ambience relaxing, peaceful and quiet. All staff were really lovely, attentive and always very helpful. Dining in the restaurant on both nights certainly didn't disappoint - the chef goes to great lengths with his attention to detail, creating fancily-presented 'fine dining' with excellent & fresh flavour combinations.... particularly loved the crab mousseline with cucumber sorbet & the most wonderful, delicate handmade leaves & micro herbs. Menu prices are mid-high but the quality & presentation is certainly there to warrant it and, if we lived closer, we'd certainly dine there regularly. Our room was spacious, well-appointed, spotlessly clean, had a superb newly fitted bathroom (with large walk-in shower) yet it was lovely to see the bedroom furniture and decor is perfectly in keeping with the building, including a gorgeous, huge wardrobe. Breakfast on both mornings was a delight and very plentiful with lots to choose from. All in all top marks and we'll be back.

The weather was chilly so it would have been nice to have had slightly more warmth indoors albeit, of course, better for the environment to wear extra layers than sweltering in an unecessarily overheated building, which so many hotels sadly are.

Breakfast was lovely freshly cooked to order so nice and hot .Electric heater in room was a good idea so never cold .

No complaints but I did mention that a light by the big mirror would be an advantage when doing hair and makeup

The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. The room was well appointed and bed super comfy. The chef is to be commended on deliciously cooked food beautifully presented...and our dog was treated as a VIP. Totally recommend either as a restaurant or for accommodation as well. Delightful.

Beautiful setting and our room was very accessible for disabled guests and had the added benefit of a private garden area. Chef is great and most items (including the chocolates given for my birthday!), were homemade.

Bed a little hard for me. No other criticisms.

Wonderful location and hotel, lots of character

Some of the appliances need updating, shower probably 1970's, Nothing more than a trickle. Bathroom could do with a refurbishment. Rest of the room was perfect.
