I liked the friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. We also enjoyed our delicious cooked breakfasts. On the mornings we left for an early start before breakfast was served, Upton Cross made us a packed lunch of sandwiches, crisps, fruit, chocolate biscuits and other treats. This was an unexpected surprise. The staff encouraged us to sit in the communal lounge rather than stay in our room during the evenings; making us feel part of the family. The communal rooms featured an amazing collection of ornaments, art, stuffed animals and lavishly decorated urns as well as a grandfather clock. When I mentioned that my partner was celebrating her 50th birthday, Upton Cross gave her a box of fairy cakes and a card. The owners of the bed and breakfast keep various animals on their land including alpacas, donkeys and hens as well as numerous cats and dogs, which were all very friendly.

Over enthusiastic changing of bath mats every day - not very environmentally friendly.

Location, breakfast was good. Bed was quite comfortable, and there was tea & coffee etc provided. Lots of wildlife, about 4 dogs, alpacas, donkeys, geese, ducks & chickens. Lovely sea view from the bedroom.

Bathroom light was extremely bright for such a small room, different bulb needed. Very small bathroom, bath small, shower was very low down on the wall. My husband is 6'2", so slightly challenging to shower properly and bath too small for him to use. Bathroom altogether a bit dated, really needs a rethink! Didn't like dogs at breakfast. My husband is allergic, but we weren't asked if they were Ok to be present. They were cute though.

The B&B is located just outside Bude, but the price is value for money. The hosts were great, very welcoming and their dogs were so well behaved. They didn't bother you at all. The breakfast was excellent and they have a very demanding Goose who taps the window for food when you are sitting down. The owners obliged him her with some scrap bread, but it was nice to see. There is a coastal bridal path that goes into Bude and is a nice walk into Town.

Nothing regarding the B&B . Be mindful if you go into Town to book a Taxi back if you need one relatively early as the taxi's had stopped by 10pm. It was a nice walk back along the coastal path, but be wary with diminishing light.

Breakfast was amazing it filled us up for the day. The location was perfect for us, away from town, but close enough to walk. The main reason for going was to get away with our dog for a short break and this succeeded our expectations. It was so dog friendly. She was free to roam the house and gardens as she pleased. The place was clean and the staff were amazing. Couldn’t do enough for us. I would highly recommend this place, but only if you like animals. Dogs roam the house and the ducks, geese and chickens roam the garden. It was perfect.

An amazing place - and totally out of the ordinary. Extremely dog friendly; this was our first ever trip to a B&B with our dog and he loved it with 6 other dogs there - four from the owners and two from other guests. Our dog was allowed free run of the place at times, and enjoyed playing with the others....... and even met the three cats as well. Flavio and the other staff were fantastic, couldn't be more helpful (eg let us have plates and cutlery for our own food one night) and loved the dog. Location perfect - two minutes walk from the coast path, and five minutes drive from Bude, but without the hassle with parking etc of being in Bude itself.

Nothing really (apart from the weather which was cruel to us on our main day here, but it was Feb!).

The staff were so lovely and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. It had such a laid back feel to the whole place where you could come and go, go see the animals, sit downstairs, have a chat with everyone. Just a lovely holiday home for everyone.

I have nothing to complain about everything made my expectations triple for anywhere else I stay from now on.

Location excellent, ideal for what I needed. Beautiful scenery, animals and friendly owner. Breakfast was very good and was offered many choices.

Roof very noisy ( high winds that night) I always take ear plugs, could hear other guests and dogs arriving after I’d gone to bed, curtains are blinds which swung in the wind, lack of heat in the bathroom, door to room needs a strip of insulation as it also jostled in the wind causing a squeak……..used my socks as insulation. These are my choice and not a criticism of the guest house.

The hosts were lovely very informative of the area. You can walk over the top cliffs at the side of the sea to bude or by the canal, did both. Also sat on the decking area at b&b numerous times so scenic. Loved the full English breakfast and the artifacts that were displayed perfectly in this quirky bungerlow.. Bude is picturesque with lots of water activities and wonderful walks.

There was nothing to dislike. Except bus time table which was every 2 hours.

The location was brilliant, not too far from Bude by car or even walking there by the bude canel. Plus, Widemouth Bay. Stunning view of the sea from our window. Friendly staff our room was clean and comfortable beds. Nice fresh breakfast.

The only thing we didn't like was the bathroom. It was a very unusual bath/shower. You had to remember to duck under the shower rail when you got into the bath for a wash. Plus, it's not a normal shower as you had yo take the shower head off before washing. So we bathed instead.

Excellent breakfast with a choice of time slots. Hosts were fantastic and very helpful and friendly. Very accommodating and good that we could take the dog. Lovely to see the animals and interact. Good for walking next to the coast paths. Tea making options available with a good selection and a biscuit and a boiled sweet. The house is quite unique and oldy worldly but lovely. Nice to sit at breakfast with others and interact or not. Would definitely stay again.

Unfortunately we got the last room available which was with sloping ceilings in the roof. We couldn’t sit up in bed to have morning coffee or watch TV which was positioned at the bottom of the bed. The room had no separate shower and the bath was small and uncomfortable ( straight back and a diy re- enamelling). Not a lot of room to hang anything. Cleanliness could have been better. Drawers not clean and dust etc on top of things (small wardrobe). The downstairs toilet next to the lounge was quite dirty and soiled. ( lifted the loo seat to use it) 🥴
