All staff where friendly and helpful. I took my girlfriend for her birthday and there was a card waiting for her in the room wishing her a happy birthday so that was lovely. Upon arrival we were greeted by a smiley and warm Denzel Washington type character who pointed us all n the right direction. We then began the check-in process in the beautiful reception area where an amazing friendly megan fox / Mila Kunis character informed us of where to find everting and off we went into our room. Extremely clean and everything felt brand new, the room was huge and so was the bed. Great view of the lake and surrounding area. We had access to the Gym, pool, steam room and sauna and took full advantage. We then grabbed a bite to eat in Bertram’s (steak burger that tasted great and perfect chips) …We got drinks brought to our room by a Brad Pitt looking character at 2am. Madness. Anyway loved it and would stay again. Wilfred’s restaurant was 10/10 also I recommend the duck pancake starter!. Thank you.

From the moment we were greeted by Rudolph, the Concierge, on arrival, the staff were attentive, professional and welcoming. The rooms were modern, spacious and the beds were extremely comfortable. We ate in both Wilfred's and Bertram's restaurants and the food in both was exceptional. We even asked the pastry chef in Bertram's to come to our table to applaud him for the wonderful puddings on Saturday night. The leisure facilities are of a high standard with a decent size swimming pool. We didn't use the spa facilities but they looked very good, especially as the weather was so nice and people were able to be outside. Great location for Pendle Hill and Gawthorpe Hall.

It's a little confusing on arrival to get your bearings about where everything is as the leisure facilities are in a separate building from the hotel. It doesn't take long though to work it out!

Rudolph’s welcome was effusive and typically Lancastrian, but a tiny bit over the top. Facilities are excellent in general.

Couldn’t get rid of the droning fan in the bedroom: we don’t like aircon and kept the window open but we didn’t get a full night’s sleep. One lift was out of order for the whole of our short visit (where were the lift maintenance people?) and the wedding party were very raucous: we might not have stayed if we’d known in advance. The hotel is of high quality but doesn’t wrap itself around you: it’s a corporate and event destination and would score well on that basis.

Lovely and clean, exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, good facilities.

Though in a lovely rural location the room we were given (105) had no view, except the metal roof of the adjoining building right in front (which also meant v noisy when it rained). Also very noisy hearing people constantly move chairs in another part of the hotel, presumably dining room, even into early hours of morning. Unfortunately at this visit the Spa was very busy and weren't able to accommodate last minute treatment- only bookings which was a shame, so definitely worth pre booking.

The warm welcome by the charismatic concierge made us feel very welcome. All the staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and professional. Check-in was quick and easy. Our room had a beautiful view of the garden and had everything we needed. The climate control in the room worked well which we appreciated.

Only a few very small things bothered us slightly. For example, a proper coffee machine such as Nespresso would be nice instead of a kettle. Also, we had to check out very early to catch an early morning flight, but there were no night porters available to assist.

The surroundings and setting is lovely. The staff were helpful, and the food at breakfast was lovely. The beds were super comfy, i booked a deluxe twin, usually you tend get a small single bed but these were larger than a single.

I went for a chill out, and to just get away and have a quiet relaxing weekend. My friend and i opted for an early night and went to bed at 10.30 (Sat), however, there was a wedding on at the venue, the music was really loud even though we were on the 2nd floor, we rang down to reception to see what time the dj finished and was told 1am which i think is very late, especially as its a hotel & spa so a lot of guests were not at the wedding and may have been getting up early. When we booked in at 4pm, we asked about the use of the Woodlands Spa, we were told it was £90 each, which we felt was far too expensive considering the time and that that did not include any treatments.

Breakfast and dinner was stunning at Wilfred’s. Will definitely be back there! Worth every penny. Room was lovely and all the staff we came across were so lovely, friendly and polite! Especially the front of house man not sure of his name but so lovely to chat too!

We didn’t book the spa experience due to myself being pregnant and there was no availability for a treatment (I did ring weeks in advance) not the hotels fault if they are busy though! I would definitely book the spa if staying here next time. I wouldn’t just book the room and lewisite. I think you need the full experience.

We were attending a wedding and staying over. the wedding took place outside in a beautiful Pavilion next to a small lake. The reception room was beautifully laid out and decorated. Our room on the first floor overlooking the main entrance to the hotel was a beautiful, well equipped, comfortable and spacious room. All the staff we encountered were extremely helpful, professional, and happy! We cannot fault the place at all. The breakfast was one of the best breakfasts we have ever had and we've had some excellent ones.

Can not fault the place.

We came to Burnley to visit relatives and to see Burnley defeat Reading in a soccer match. The facilities were amazing and my husband had the best ale in all of Europe there. I think it's called me2 or something like that. Worth a trip even if the cab fare from Manchester was 145 pounds. Next time we might rent a car if we can figure out how to drive on the opposite side of the vehicle snd road. Happy Americans from the birthplace of the revolution, Boston New England.

The staff at the hotel were all very friendly and helpful, especially the gentleman who met us on arrival. I think his name was Randolph - he was absolutely delightful. Lovely big bedroom, very clean, nice outlook. A good standard of hotel.

We found it unacceptable that the duvet provided was thin, and the INCORRECT size (ie FAR TOO SMALL) for the duvet cover on the super kingsize bed. To clarify, the duvet was only a double-size, so did not span the total width of the large bed, let alone hang over the side of the bed.. A real cheap trick. The room cost over £200. It was appalling that we had to wait nearly 45 late minutes late at night for a replacement duvet to turn up. We couldn’t ‘make do’, as there was no spare blanket available in the room.
