Unfortunately when we arrived at the hotel in the middle of a snowstorm only to find the hotel did not have any record of our booking !! We had travelled down from Scotland to meet family who had travelled up from Swindon , after a lengthy phone call to booking.com and a huge amount of effort from Becky the General manager she came up trumps and managed to squeeze us in to the Inn !! Our room was cosy and comfortable, the food in the restaurant was delicious . The whole place had a very cosy atmosphere. The staff certainly went above and beyond in our opinion and we would definitley go back (in the summer)

The hotel is quite isolated for a winter break , not much in the adjoining town of Colne.

The Alma Inn is located in the most stunning countryside just a short distance outside Colne and as such it is a wonderful place to have a stress relieving night or two away. The rooms have been furnished and fitted to an extremely high standard so as a pub it punches well above its weight. The restaurant is large and is obviously well known for its food as the menu is innovative and probably not unreasonably priced although it is not "pub grub" and does not have "pub grub" prices. The bar has a good selection of drinks, both spirits and beers etc.

I am never hugely happy about a 10% "discretionary" service charge being added to the bill in the restaurant. Whilst it is probably OK for couples dining, for families, it could add up to a significant amount which can be a shock as the charge is in tiny letters at the bottom of the menu. The bedside lights are not really bright enough to read by.

The staff were very welcoming and very polite, the room was a good size, the bed was extremely comfortable and the food was amazing when it arrived. I could have sat in the bar all night with the brilliant atmosphere and great choice of beers The Alma Inn is set in a beautiful part of Colne and perfect for using as a base to go walking.

The room was showing its age a bit with broken wardrobe, safe not working and bathroom needing a little TLC. We almost had to abandon our evening meal because it took so long to arrive and we had a taxi booked to go into Colne for a show.

The staff were welcoming and attentive including the house keeping staff. They were very proud of the Inn! The food was lovely although the menu seemed very limited until our attention was drawn to their specials menu. The breakfasts were excellent and the real ale was superb. The location near Colne was perfect for visiting the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway (pictured), Howarth (High Street pictured) and Hebden Bridge as well as enjoying the vistas across the moors.

The room was over warm, the thermostat was not working on the radiator, so we had to keep the window open all night. My wife was woken up by a very loud "extractor fan/boiler"? from the kitchen at 7 in the morning.

Lovely breakfast...special location....such helpful friendly staff !

Looking at the location,we were dissopointed with the non-view from room 5 ! Couldn't imagine that the restaurant roof would preclude the views if the incredible location...the pictures on the website only showed rooms with lovely views !!

The staff on arrival were great and very friendly, on arriving in the room it was a little small from my previous stay however there was nothing what so every wrong with it. We ate there a d the meal was first class and would highly recommended people eat there. Great selection of fish and meat, all local. Beers were great as well as the wine selection.

Set in a rural landscape, fields with livestock as you approach the Inn. Very picturesque and tranquil. The Inn is a period stone building. It has lots a parking over two levels. Areas outside where you could sit and drink. The interior is very period and traditional with modern finishes. Very well presented. The night time access was excellent, as we had dogs and they needed to go out a few times in the night. Dog friendly and quiet.

Meal and breakfast were very good. Comfortable bar and restaurant. Ample parking. Best feature was staff who were very helpful and friendly all the time and all willingly 'went the extra mile' to help us with local information etc.

Difficult to find down very narrow road. Stairs to rooms not conducive to elderly clients (though staff carried our cases up and down)

Took my 85 year old mother for a short break. Stunning location, located on a quiet lane, with wide open views of the surrounding fields of sheep and hills in all directions. Friendly, warm, welcoming staff at all times - an exceptional team in fact. Wide choices on the menus for breakfast and dinner and all cooked to perfection using high quality ingredients. Lovely, well appointed rooms with very comfy beds, good showers and generous choices for in-room hot drinks.

I really struggle to think of anything to write here - except having to leave!

The food in the restaurant was lovely. The staff were friendly. The room was clean and had some really nice touches such has old cottage features. The bath was huge and the bed was comfy.

Nothing really the only thing could say was we struggled to work the jacuzzi but we didn’t ask.
