Deluxe room is definetly worth it for a special occasion, there was plenty of space, parking was great, staff were amazing, it was mostly for a bed for the night so can't comment on the bar but walking through I know it would be nice to spend some time which we will again, we will make a point of coming from Scotland to Wales again just to stay here, 100% will recommend. Honestly one of the nicest stays we've had and very reasonably priced and very central for what was needed, close enough to main roads in and out the city too.

Toilet paper could have a couple more ply added as giving yourself a prostate exam unnecessarily isn't good 😆 and no hand soap,(shower gel etc was provided which we used instead to wash hands) other than that it was perfect 👌

Staff very efficient and friendly - smiley. Room was thoughtfully decorated and spacious. Rooms had immenities such as a ironing board. Check in very efficient. Pub itself looked attractive. Breakfast very good value. Great location. Easy to find and had parking. Overall great value.

Our room was lovely but it was difficult to get to sleep as customers sat were outside on the patio right outside of the room window. They were not being overlly rowdy, but the general acoustics of a bunch of blokes chatting on the other side of a pane of glass made it impossible to sleep as could hear every word. Similarly, the room faced onto the ramp leading to the car park, so at pub closing time quite a bit of noise from people and cars. I fully appreciate that if you choose to stay at a pub you are going to get noice though. I wouldn't want people not to stay because of this comment - overall the team/place was very nice. I would definitley stay here again - but will ask for a different room next time.

Breakfast was good value and nice. Two rooms were lovely, Third one a bit dark and very small window looked out over a brick wall with the kitchens near so a bit noisy at times. All rooms however were very clean and nice, beds and pillows wonderful. The staff were amazing, we had a family member take ill one night and 'Ben' the Manager on duty was just wonderful and really looked after the whole family. Excellect staff.

One room 'Norwegian' Ground floor double was dark and very near the kitchens, we could her staff talking quiet a lot from the kitchens. The small window also looked out onto a brick wall and a ladder !!! as this was the same price as the other 2 rooms we had we think a price difference would have been applied.

The room we were provided was excellent with air conditioning, a bath, a great shower and table and chairs in addition to the bed, which is excellent for reading as I wouldn't say I like sitting in bed. The room benefited from blackout curtains in addition to blinds, I slept really well on a comfortable bed with good pillows for which I am grateful as I find it increasingly difficult to sleep in most hotels on account of their rock-hard mattresses.

The room could benefit from a fridge as there is ample space (personal preference). Also, the room would benefit from some fresh paint as the walls and skirting look a bit tired with general wear and tear in an otherwise lovely room.

The price and location was brilliant! The price i paid did not match my expectations, it far exceeded them. The atmosphere was lovely and chill, the staff were also lovely and friendly and the food was good. Also loved its easy access and decent size car park, with blue badge spaces

It got to warm overnight and i had to sleep with the aircon on which i dont like doing due to the general noise of the aircon, but was manageable and the temp improved with the aircon. So completely personal preference with that. I did however find that the bathroom was quite small/ tight. If someone bigger than me stayed in the room i was in then they would have struggled with how close the bath and loo were to each other. Sorry

I was given a front room with a great view over the busy Cardiff Road, but traffic noise was almost zero, Ben and his good team give you a friendly welcome and are very obliging, and the food was delicious. The atmosphere is relaxed, as advertised, The en-suite was spotless.

Where you go to check-in isn't clear in publicity or on arrival, but you enter the main door and, instead of having to queue at the bar, staff quickly find you and guide you to the right place on the first floor.

Warm welcome on arrival. We booked the Sunday lunch and it was really good. Big shout out to Dylan, who looked after the service. Recommend to book ahead as the Sunday Lunch was popular. The room was spacious . Great size bathroom with shower over bath. Favourite malted milk biscuits with the tea and coffee facilities. Free parking .

Time of year, it was chilly, so we could have done with a heavier duvet. We used the air-conditioning function for heat and found it a little noisey during the night. But I am a light sleeper.

The room was spacious and air conditioned which was a bonus as the weather was hot. Breakfast was as I expected. we had dinner on the first night and found food appropriate to our tastes on the menu. The 20% discount for being a hotel guest was a bonus. The staff were extremely helpful in getting my car recovered by the AA as it had broken down while we were in Cardiff.

In common with the majority of hotels, the shower was in the bath which makes getting in and out a struggle. Also, the shower was immediately above the bath plug so it was difficult to avoid filling the bath while showering. This is merely an observation.

Maltsters is in a good location, close to main roads on the outskirts of Cardiff yet only 15 minutes from the city centre. The accommodation is excellent, we had two ensuite rooms which were spotless and the beds are very comfortable. The bar restaurant provided a good selection of food and drinks and the staff were very attentive. Overall the hotel provided excellent value for money and we will definitely stay there again.

The restaurant needs to improve the lighting.

Staff were fabulous, breakfast was excellent. Room was comfortable and clean, parking on site free and wifi free was a big plus. Room facilities were good. I would stay here again.

Early morning delivery was noisy but it was happening right outside my window so it is what it is...only thing that took away from the room was the obvious wear to the fabric of the headboard, not a major dealbreaker but it did draw the eye.
