Good self serve breakfast and plenty to chose from. Cooked breakfast was sausages bacon beans and scrambled egg. That was enough for us. Toast pastries and cereal and fruit to chooses from. First nights stay was a Saturday noisy most of the night doors banging and noisy drunks about. Second night was more quiet and we slept well. Comfy beds. Basic room but everything you needed was there. No drawers for small items if you stayed for a week and no wardrobe. Small open hanging space. The room was very warm and we used our fan to keep cool. That was a good addition to the room. Clean and tidy although the bed wall could do with a good dust around the bed. Staff were very helpful and polite.

Lack of drawers to put things in. Noise on the first night.

The breakfast was good but not a lot of variety and some items ran out, were very dry or VERY well done (sausages)! The bed was comfy and although some slight traffic noise it was in a great location very near to the city walls and only a short pleasant walk to the centre.

The walls must be paper-thin between the rooms as we could hear our neighbours talking, laughing, making telephone calls and getting intimate! She also had a very bad cough and it woke us up on several occassions. Doors opening/closing (room door and bathroom) could be clearly heard whenever they were used. Would return to this hotel but hope our neighbours were a bit quieter. more considerate and not as frisky!

Room was smaller than expected but fine for a two night stay - I managed to find enough space to do some yoga. View of the racecourse was nice. Free parking this close for city centre a definite plus. Breakfast was plentiful and good. My partner appreciated the free hot drinks throughout your stay part! Reasonably priced, compared to other hotels, and very close to where my family live, so would definitely stay here again.

There was an interconnecting door to the next room, which was locked, but our neighbours weren't the quietest and woke me up at 4am when there was a loud bang and them screaming at each other questioning what was going on!

Great value for money hotel in a convenient central location with free parking. Often use this hotel when staying overnight in Chester. Nice buffet breakfast included in price too.

Only negative is if you get a room on the road side of the hotel, the early morning traffic noise is intrusive. Ask for a room on the racecourse side of the hotel when booking.

Great location just a short walk to the centre . Breakfast was enough to keep us going all day hot fresh and tasty food . Hot drinks and juice available at any time . Brilliant. Room smelt so fresh as did the hotel itself . The room was spotless as was the hotel . Comfy beds . Can’t fault any of it . Well done to the cleaners on keeping this place smelling feeling and looking spotless.

Nothing we didn’t like . Everything was spot on no complaints about anything. We got this room for a great price including breakfast and hot and cold drinks whenever we wanted . Fantastic . The room was very hot but they have fans which was a big relief just asked and it was put in our room straight away .

staff were very friendly and were very good with my daughter who although was 33 during our visit she has adhd and asbergers and they took the time to chat to her ..staff also did a good job with room cleaning.plenty of free parking

unfortunatly during our stay 20th nov for 2 nights the lifts were out of order.breakfast was good except for the scrambled eggs which should be light and fluffy but were anything but and were very sticky and watery.for the number of people at breakfast the hotel could do with more than just one toaster.we were in a twin room and we had to get a member of staff in to explain the lighting as some of the light switches did not correspond with the actual lights that you would expect them too.would have been handy to have sockets nearer the bedfor charging phones, tablets etc .would have been nice to have the option of having cooked food in the evening.even after all this we would still stay here again

The property is in a good location only 5/10 minutes walk away from the city centre. There is plenty of free parking on site - a significant factor when booking. The room although a little tired was clean and comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities, TV etc. The shower was very good with plenty of hot water. Breakfast choice was also good with a variety of cold and hot options. Finally the staff were excellent, examples being rooms cleaned daily and breakfast items being regularly replenished.

We did have ongoing problems with the door key but staff were always on hand to deal with the situation. Other than that we were very satisfied with our stay.

The room was clean and well set out, plenty of lighting and plug as well as USB ports. There's no bath but the shower was one of the best I've used. Breakfast was well equipped with plenty of options.

There was a problem with the lift and so was not working for almost all of our stay. going up and down to the 3rd floor was a struggle as there were no other lift options. Staff appeared not to know that this was going to happen or when it would be complete. Seems to be a major communications issue between the Holiday Inn and their hotel staff/guests. There is a free basic wifi service throughout the hotel but the service is very slow for uploading data and struggles to stream media. No option to upgrade the service was offered.

The location was brilliant. The staff were really helpful and went out of their way to find something for me. The breakfast was lovely and included in the price. The trip was with my mother, so it was nice to have the option of a twin room so we could stay together but sleep apart and also cut costs by not having to have 2 rooms. The bathroom was lovely and clean, and the shower was good. There was a television in the room which was great as we could relax after 2 long days of drinking and doing tourist activities. All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel and also come back here in the future when I next visit Chester. There was also free parking which is unusual in tourist destinations and usually costs £10+ per day!

Nothing to comment here. Everything was great.

The staff behind the reception where such a delight. They litterally where so friendly! The woman (didn’t manage to get her name) but she was losing her voice at the time and she was so so nice to us. As was all the staff but they made our stay so lovely and enjoyable. I really had such a good time here and the service and everything was perfect. They couldn’t do enough for us. Thank you will definatly be back here.

Only small thing I could say was the sofa bed was quite hard in comparison to the bed. Would have been nice to have a mattress topper on it. However we didn’t ask so perhaps the staff would have given us one if we’d have asked.
