Unique or quirky? Probably both. Why not stay and decide for yourself. An excellent and sympathetic conversion of a Grade 2 listed Methodist Chapel with much furniture made out of old pews. I know this sounds "odd", but it really works. The Hidden Chapel Restaurant is downstairs in the main body of the Chapel was excellent and has live music some nights (check its opening days for dinner as perhaps not open evenings early in the week). Above this are balconies with comfortable seating, and above this are some rooms in what would have been the roof-space. We stayed in one of these: think of exposed beams, a four-poster that appears to have been made from old pews, a slipper bath in the room, and a good shower room (though the basin was placed inconveniently high). There is under-floor heating. And the view over the town and across the estuary is lovely; the castle can just be seen to the right. But there are a lot of stairs to get there! I did not see any of the other rooms, so cannot comment on those. PS I recommend the Malbec
My only dislike was the height of the handbasin.

It was in an excellent location. But we needed to search for a long stay carpark, but we eventually found one within walking distance.

Thanks to all the team at Gwynfryn for a fabulous stay. The room was extremely good. Very clean and well looked after. It was clear that the proprietors take a lot of pride in everything they do. I loved the extras they put into the room, such as the toiletries, the tea/coffee/hot chocolate, the bottled water, the chocolate mints. The bed itself was very comfortable. I also had a plug to charge my phone and camera using USB. Breakfast was served in what was a converted chapel. If the proprietors were holding services there every morning then I'm sure they'd have an excellent attendance rate. The breakfast was perfect, just what I needed. The staff were very attentive, popping by regularly to make sure everything was OK and asking me if I wanted anything else. I loved the way they used the chapel's hymn board to display the passcode for their wi-fi connection! The accommodation is perfectly located right in the town centre. It is the perfect base to explore Conwy, the town centre, the castle and the waterfront. Conwy is a very attractive fortified walled town, full of history, quaint streets and quirky buildings. Everywhere you go, it is like walking around a film set. It is a photographer's paradise.- especially at dawn and dusk when the sun is rising and setting and when the the streets are clear of traffic and people. I hope to be returning to Conwy very soon and when I do, I shalll be booking in again with Gwynfryn.

What an enjoyable experience. The staff were excellent from check-in to breakfast and check-out. The central location in the heart of Conwy, where parking is minimal due to the location within the castle walls, makes overnight parking outside the castle walls a short walk away. Access for drop off and pick up of baggage is possible along the narrow street. A unique and excellent stay in this converted chapel. Highly recommended.
Other than the parking issue, but that's the same for everone who wishes to stay within the castle walls.

The accommodation was comfortable, well appointed, up to date and the large bathroom with separate shower and bath a touch of luxury. Location within the town walls gave immediate access to all the points of interest within the town, whilst parking was near by and good value for money. The overall character of the property including the Hidden Chapel was charming and made the stay feel more special as did the hands on attention of the owners Colin and Monica who together with their staff and chef added greatly to the enjoyment of our stay. The unique setting of the restaurant within the sympathetically remodelled Chapel, with ingeniously upcycled pew furniture to tables and the the sensitive retainment of major architectural features created the special occasion back drop to our dinning that we were looking for. The less is more concept to quality was well demonstrated in the Chefs deployment of his skills in providing food where the combination of quality ingredients created tastes and satisfaction of a high standard. A sustaining enjoyable breakfast rounded off our stay.

The location is excellent, very central in Conwy, and within walking distance of the shops, bars and restaurants. Very welcoming when we arrived and the room was ready early so we were able to check in and drop off bags before exploring the town. Room is well appointed with a lovely spacious bathroom.
The room is quite warm, even on not a particularly hot day and it was necessary to have the windows open, but having the windows open means that the seagulls are very noisy. Personally I found it easier to sleep through the noise of the seagulls than a hot, stuffy room but worth bearing in mind in you're light sleeper. Parking is about a 5 minute walk away and cost £7.20 for each 24 hours. It would have been really useful to know where the parking was in advance of our stay. Perhaps this could be included in pre-checkin information.

Great location within city walls. Everything was in walking distance. Comfortable bed. The staff was nice. We did not choose the breakfast option when booking, but we were still offered the option to purchase breakfast when we checked in which was really kind.
There is no parking at the site, which is clearly stated when booking, but I think it needs to be clearly stated where to find it. There is a car park down the street, across, and then down a driveway. I noticed it when I was out walking, but did not see it when looking for the accommodation. Overall though, we were very happy with our stay and just wanted to give this information. Thanks!

The location was hidden away but central and perfect for exploring the town The building itself interesting and quirky and interesting from a historical perspective. The room though small ( which is exactly as described when I booked) was ideal and so clean that the bathroom was actually gleaming. We didn't eat in but the menu looked very good although perhaps a bit pricey for us.
The shower was a little slippy so could've done with a shower mat to prevent any falls

Great location, easy walk to the attractions. We arrived early and were able to check in, it was quick and easy. Meals are available or there are plenty of options close by. The hosts have thought of everything, all the little extras - even a mini fridge. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.
Parking is not available at the property but there is some long term parking available nearby.

I couldn’t recommend Gwynfryn enough - the room was clean and cozy with excellent facilities. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and breakfast was great value for money. We stayed here before climbing snowdon and found the location very convenient and Conwy itself was charming. We wish we had time to explore the town a bit more! Great restaurant choices available as well!
We found parking difficult with no onsite parking. Long stay car parks are available within Conwy
