One of the best places to stay in England IMO. V friendly, helpful & professional staff. Rooms really nicely equipped, laid out & furnished - plenty of space & quirky too. The food is delicious and all locally produced, which is important. They have Baron Bigod cheese as part of an excellent cheese selection. Great setting too - Bawburgh is a beautiful village a stone's throw from John Innes Centre field station

They're threatening to drop the Baron Bigod in favour of another local soft cheese. By all means add the new one, but don't drop the Baron - one of the main reasons I make the journey!

The location of this hotel is set in a quiet little village with a beautiful river running through it, it was idyllic. The staff were absolutely brilliant, they were so friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely with a big bath which was amazing and the bed was really comfortable. We sat in the garden in the sunshine in the afternoon and it was just so relaxing. We had a fantastic meal in the evening and the food was exceptional. This was the perfect choice for a romantic getaway with my partner for his birthday it was just so peaceful. The choices for breakfast were great and it was a very pleasant way to set us up for the day ahead. We spoke with the owner Anton as we were checking out and he was so welcoming and pleased that we had enjoyed our stay. It is a lovely, quirky hotel with loads of beautiful old wooden beams and we plan to return especially as we noticed several fireplaces which look like they will be very cosy on a cold winter's day!

We really couldn't find anything not to like about this beautiful hotel.

located in a small village opposite a stream, great access to Norwich but in the country. We were cycling the Rebellion Way so the location worked for us as we had cars. great access and parking. our apartment was in an annexe and had 2 double rooms and huge living/ kitchen area. everything was clean, well maintained, good kitchen if you want to self-cater. staff very helpful before (asking questions about parking etc) and during stay. We arrived late and just got in before kitchen closed - food was good and tasty - we had fish and chips and special dessert. generally great value. they offer a breakfast menu so you pay only for what you order - menu covered everything from croissants to full English , eggs any way and avocado on toast with poached eggs. huge portions!

nothing to say here. staff really considerate and thoughtful!

We did not have breakfast, as I had a very early appointment for surgery. The location is so lovely and unspoilt. The staff were excellent. The food was tasty and presented well. The whole atmosphere had a really lovely vibe.

I cannot really say there was anything I did not like. Being an extremely old building, my husband found the height of the roof near the toilet a 'bit of a challange' but hey, they had to fit everything in the bathroom, and the roof was build before the indoor plumbing!

Apartment was lovely - very comfortable. It was well decorated, the kitchen was kitted out with everything we needed, and it was warm too! The beds were incredibly soft, and everything was well thought through.

It was a little walk to the car park (there was access, but it was quite narrow and I didn't want to risk it most days). Apart from that, anything would be super nit-picky - required only because booking.com want to certain length!

Apartment One is perfectly laid out, spacious and bright, everything you needed was there. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the beds amazing (having spent almost 36 hrs in one due to the heat, I can assure you they are superb!) Despite being on a road it was very quiet at night, making sleeping easy. The whole apartment was exceptionally clean - credit to the wonderful housekeeping ladies who worked tirelessly on the hottest days of the year (Thank you, Ladies). The Kings Head 'Pub/Restaurant' has the most polite and helpful staff. The chefs are exceptional, the food was delicious, they even prepared a 'Take Away' meal for one of our party who was not well enough to go to the restaurant - the food was piping hot allowing us to pop it to the apartment, upon returning our food was then served - perfect timing. The apartment is situated a 2-minute walk across the car park. (Thank you Chefs and waiting staff) Highly recommend the restaurant and the accommodation - we will definitely return!

High end furnishings, had a lovely luxurious feel. Very spacious, bedrooms and living room fabulous. Adjustable heating in the apartment. Beds were very comfortable, lots of pillows, cushions and throws. Staff doing check in were very warm and friendly, knowledgeable on the area. Offered meal bookings. Great location for showground and good for journey into Norwich.

Bathroom shower needs an upgrade.

Very attractive location close to the River Yare. Friendly, efficient and helpful check-in. We stayed in a three-bedroomed apartment (in a building separate from, but close to, The King's Head, and with its own parking) which had a spacious living room and fully-equipped kitchen. Cooking at dinner was of a high standard.

The temperature control on the shower in the main bathroom appeared to have failed and the water was too hot for the shower to be used. Although tea and coffee making facilities were provided in the kitchen there were very limited quantities of milk. Service at dinner suffered a little from the fact that the restaurant was very busy although once we had placed our orders the food arrived quite quickly.

Old pub that has been sensitively and beautifully restored and maintained. Everything worked and although it was on a road it was quiet at night. The restaurant and the bar were welcoming with great service. Walks around the village were pretty and accessible.

Douvets are too hot when the weather is warm. Lighter bedding would have been welcome.
