Hotel was very clean, and bed was extremely comfortable. Staff were friendly and cheerful. Good location for Norwich town centre and free parking available

No heating between 10.30 and 4.30 which gave the impression of a B&B. Food was ok not great but mediocre which done for our first night but nothing exciting to go back to for the second night so we found somewhere else. Had to go between a separate building to get to the main hotel and restaurant which in the rain and bad weather may be problematic.

The location was great with easy access into the city by foot and close connection to bus routes. The staff were friendly as ever and the lounge was comfortable and often quiet. The breakfast was lovely, I chose to get the breakfast included and ate most days I stayed with enough choice to remain varied.

The bathroom had no window to let in natural light which is fine for some but caused me to feel as though I was in a cupboard. The room was also continually hot despite the window remaining open, very uncomfortable at night due to the heat even though the bed and bedding itself was nice.

Beautiful property with colorful window boxes, easy access from the main road to property and plenty of free parking. Lovely warm welcome from Matthew in Reception. Good sized room, lovely linen, plenty of towels and toiletries. Plenty of spaces for relaxation, ie seating in lounge bar, and separate lounge area. Really fantastic quiet private garden with several areas for sitting, several ponds and plenty of greenery and interesting works of art. Good menu, pleasant, unhurried service - which is a plus. Well looked after by Daisy at dinner and breakfast. The cheese board at dinner included 3 local cheeses and own grown grapes (vine growing in atrium over 60 years old). We didn't get to know the names of other staff but equally important members of the team that made up for a really lovely stay. Although the hotel on a main road - surprisingly quiet at night and 15 minute walk into centre of Norwich City. It will be our preferred choice for our next visit.

nothing to dislike

It was a beautiful old Georgian building set in very well tended gardens. Being a keen gardener I really appreciated this and the chat with the maintenance person Stuart who looked after the gardens & fish pond was a highlight. Was made to feel welcomed, valued and was very well looked after by all staff. Loved the conservatory with its old vine laden with black grapes. Parking was on site. A key consideration as I was travelling on my own. Great fish and the chips were fantastic. Breakfast VG too and you could choose whatever combination you liked from the menu. Room, en-suite & towels & bed linen were very clean.

The high step down from the entrance into the bedroom was awkward as I’ve a stiff knee & hip. Didn’t like having to step over the side of the bath to get in & out. Mentioned to staff a handrail on the wall to hold onto might be a good idea.

Was perfectly placed for our needs... arrived after midnight and greeted warmly... very efficient check-in after a longish drive in the rain... next morning and equally cheerful greeting by the same member of staff less than 6 hours later ! It's such a gem of a place. I would definitely recommend this hotel... communal areas looked fabulous, and the dining room as well! Lovely vine covering the walkway...if not real it certainly looked it... Our room was tastefully decorated... very comfortable ...plug for the hairdyer by a mirror. Win win ! Didn't have time for breakfast, but I am confident it would have been fabulous as well! The building has such character!! Loved it !!

No reflection on the hotel.. just that the room opposite left the TV on, and with the landing quite narrow, I could hear it quite clearly... fortunately, we dropped off to sleep... which I was pleased about as up till then everything was lovely... so do wonder if the TVs are set to shut off after a while... So, absolutely nothing to dislike about the hotel... x

Beautiful Georgian property, very picturesque gardens. Bed was comfortable. Close to city centre. Staff were very welcoming and friendly - and didn’t seem to mind the kids running around the hotel!

Breakfast was disappointing. Coffee was from a machine rather than fresh, which one would expect from this standard of hotel. Concentrated orange juice is not a replacement for the freshly squeezed version. Portions were large though which was great. Porridge was delicious. A continental buffet would also be an added touch so you don’t have to keep calling a waitress

Lovely hotel in a really good location . The staff were all very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable with excellent quality towels and linen. We didn't use the restaurant as, unfortunately, we had to shorten our trip due to illness. We had been intending to have dinner there as the food looked good. Lots of parking, which is a bonus, and within 5 minutes walk of the city centre. We were very disappointed not to stay longer and will definitely return in the spring to finish our trip. Special thanks to the guy on reception who was very understanding when we checked out.

Nothing.

A homely hotel. Our room was a good size and very comfortable. Hand soap, shampoo and body wash were provided and we had big towels (always popular with me) and there was a bath. Nothing to complain about apart from the bar service as mentioned.

Service at breakfast and reception was great and the food offering was also good. Unfortunately, service in the bar left a little to be desired. Staff were always busy with other duties which meant quite a wait to be served. When we were, every member of staff was very pleasant. As a preference, it would be nice to have a shower screen rather than a curtain over the bath.

Room and hotel Cosy. We could have used more of the facilities had we arrived earlier the first day but that was our external problem. Car charging which is available would have been very relevant to us last year , but not this year. Parking good. Staff very helpful, housekeeping team above and beyond. Breakfast is good but not fast , allow enough time not to be worried .

Steps here and there characterful but occasionally challenging especially with luggage in tow on arrival. It claims NOT to be DDA to be fair , due to listed buildings. Possible to catch hand on door knob to frame, room and bathroom. We imagine all rooms are unique. Postcode led our particular vehicle to a back lane , off Ipswich road . though we overrode that visually most of the time !

I came with my 11 year old daughter from Glasgow for a concert. Our room had a spa bath which my daughter loved, it was a challenge trying to get her out of it. Rooms are big enough and beds are extremely comfy we could have slept all day. The staff are super friendly and nothing is a chore for them. The only thing I would say is when we were getting dressed in the morning my daughter noticed some ants on the carpet at the window, although I don’t think this is a hotel problem I think they have maybe just found their way in from the beautiful gardens outside. Overall a lovely stay close to amenities. We would definitely stay here again. Lastly, Thank you to the lovely receptionist who helped us with our concert tickets!
