This was my first visit to Norwich, so I wanted somewhere with both a central location and with a little historical interest. I would say that we chose well on both fronts, as the hotel has some beautiful period features, both Victorian and Art Deco. From the moment we arrived, the staff really could not have done more to make us feel welcome and at home. They were all unfailingly professional, yet so warm and friendly. The location on one of Norwich's historical 'lanes' was perfect, both being quiet and conveniently near to the Roman Catholic cathedral and Plantation Garden and the central shops and market. There are also some lovely independent shops and eateries on the street, with the independent department store Jarrold a short walk away. (A visit is an absolute must, not least for the impressive marble wine bars in the food hall). The stunning Anglican cathedral is also a short walk away and is an absolute must-see. Worth another mention is the hotel's afternoon tea, which is both delicious and excellent value, with plenty to tempt, whether you enjoy sweet treats, savoury or both. I had a wonderful time in Norwich with my dear Ma and I really hope to stay at St Giles' House Hotel again, as it played such an important part in making our stay so special.

Staff were friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. There was a kettle, with tea and coffee and clean glasses.and a small fridge/mini bar on the room. A hair dryer was also provided along with toiletries. Car parking was also available at a rate of £10 which was very useful and close by. All in all a very comfortable stay, I would return this was my 2nd stay here. .

The shower was a little weak, and there was a bit of a smell in the bathroom but I think it was something that was in Norwich as I smelt it in the city so, not just the hotel. It was not over powering.

I like these traditional hotels that still feel like old hotels that l remember from when l was young. It's right in the city centre, but hasn't turned itself into one of these ghastly modernised places you get with modern art everywhere and all the furniture meeting a corporate goal. It's old, feels a bit posh and l really liked it.

There are no negatives for me at all. If l had to think of something, l would mention that when you come into the building from the car park at the rear, there is an awful newbuild block of flats/student accommodation, stuck on the back of St Giles. It has no actual effect on your stay, but your walk-in from the back isn't as attractive and impressive as when you come in from the street. So essentially, there are no real negatives for me.

Location was spot on. Really nice looking building. Terrace outside was nice however too cold to sit out unfortunately. Rooms a good size and large bathroom with bath and separate wet room.

Not value for money in my opinion. I've stayed in much better for cheaper. High price, plus parking cost and no breakfast included. Room a little in need of TLC. Curtain rail missing an end. Curtain actually didn't quite fit and the blinds were dusty. Sink was blocked a pet hate of mine. Reception staff seemed to not answer the phone when we called prior to our arrival. Car park was somewhat difficult to find. Late night porter wasn't able to pour a beer. We had to do our own and he couldn't take cash either only card.

Super, comfy, big bed, nice room extras such as shampoo. Big bath was amazing/lovely big shower. Lovely to have bath robes and towels were nice. Mini bar was good. Breakfast was great. Location is amazing. Lovely stay and will go back. Good, friendly staff-even towards another rude guest we observed!

Didn't have my name on booking in, and the pipes in the bathroom squeaked all through the night, which kept us awake at points through the night. Also a wedding reception was on, which is fine but maybe you should inform guests on arrival as then you can expect there to be more noise as it went on until 2-3am with people in the courtyard outside our room. Cigarette butts need sweeping in the morning. Was cold in the room and the heating didnt work.

Very nice location and excellent and attentive staff. What some of them lacked in professionalism (not trained to tend bar, for instance) they made up for with charm and good spirit. Our room was nice, the bed and pillows excellent. Large bath room with a bath and shower. Probably worth mentioning that contrary to booking.com site not all comfort rooms have bath tubs.

It’s very charming and lovely. Nice architecture and lay-out, very centrally located it is however showing the first signs of decay. Unless the invest in the upkeep it will go down hill fast.

What a superb find. This beautiful building was in a perfect location, down a quiet side street near the Market area, and surrounded by lots of restaurants, tea shops and artisan bakeries, oh and a gelataria! The room was cosy in the Georgian side with a large & comfortable bed, crisp bedding and I slept really well. The bathroom was huge, 5* luxury with a stunning marble floor, brilliant shower and claw footed bath if you needed it. So much space. The breakfast was very generous and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely choose this again and recommend to friends. thank you for a wonderful stay.

we couldnt find the car park linked to the hotel for our discounted car parking. maybe a better description could be offered?

property was lovely, great location for food (benedicts) and comedy club (bowling house) staff friendly and attentive. rooms tidy, nice options for mini bar, breakfast was lovely

difficult to find car park, spent 30 mins driving round to follow map. so thankful for Jimmy who helped me fine my way! however on leaving I asked about the car park and the new girl unfortunately hadn’t told me to input me reg plate in. (I did ask if I needed to and she said she would get to that later after I signed my reg on the paper form) hopefully no fine! hotel was nice, clean, restaurant was lovely for breakfast. partner had a massage in the spa which was bookend 2.30-4.15 but came back at 3.50 which I was confused about. no other complaints, room clean, food nice, nice mini bar, friendly helpful staff

Central location - easy walking distance into the centre of Norwich. Staff were super helpful, they did their best to sort out any issues we had. Nice breakfast, good choice, including veggie. Gorgeous old building, with lovely old furniture pieces and high ceilings. The bed was comfy, huge bath and the room was sufficiently warm. On site parking - £10 for 24hrs.

Like any old building, sometimes the plumbing could be a little erratic, nothing terrible though. Some of the furniture could do with repair/replacement (there was a rattern seated chair in front of the dressing table that had seen better days). If you want a super sleek, modern, hi tech hotel, this is not the place for you.

The staff were all friendly and helpful, and went out of their way for us. It’s a beautiful building. It’s a bit worn in places - which adds character, in my view. I liked the fact it didn’t look ‘corporate’… Our room and bathroom were spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was good too.

Some of the decor in communal areas was not to my taste, but that’s just me. There was obviously street noise - as we had a street-side room, but generally just people enjoying themselves while walking home, and not the hotel’s responsibility.
