Royal Court Hotel & Spa Coventry

I loved this hotel. It's a beautiful old historic building set in a lovely quiet location yet less then 10 minutes away from Coventry city by car. The pool is great, I really enjoyed it, there is also a gym for those into fitness. The inside of the hotel has character, it's a piece of history unlike modern standard block buildings. I read the bad reviews on the condition but I don't find it bad condition at all. For a building of its age it's very well maintained. Room was lovely and clean, again I'm surprised by the negative reviews on cleanliness, it was great, large TV, kettle, iron, ironing board, hairdryer, shower room, large storage cupboard and wardrobe, quite a big room. The grounds are lovely to sit out in good weather. Bar has outdoor seating. All in all this is a fabulous hotel, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and I would definitely recommend it. Excellent value at that price for a spa hotel.

Doesn't have a lift. Long walk upstairs with baggage.

The room was huge, very very clean, beds were comfortable and there were two armchairs (pet hate of mine, only one chair in a double room). The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was good, we had a buffet for breakfast and lunch both of which were well cooked and hot. The whole place was kept clean and tidy despite there being a wedding each day of our stay so lots of people coming and going. The gardens are lovely. I have seen comments about the potholes in the driveway but we did not have an issue and it looked recently tarmaced. We went with an open mind having read the reviews and the hotel definately exceeded our expectations

The only issue we had was that the shower was over the bath and there were no grab handles to help get in and out. It was a very large "spa" bath with the taps in the middle and slopes at either end which did make it difficult to climb into, a couple of hand rails would be much safer

We stayed in a very old wing of the hotel in what appeared to be an old house. Property is set in lovely well kept grounds and felt very secluded and private. I think the only thing that let my stay down were costs at the bar. I paid £43 for my room, but 2 JD and cokes were 19.80,just shy of 1/2 the price of my room. 3 course meal £12. Not “top nosh” but extremely good value for money. Would I stay again? 100% yes.

The property is aged and very well lived in. Areas need a bit more maintenance and tendered to, but I wouldn’t say updated,it’s an old building and I prefer hotels with history and character.

It's a beautiful place in lovely location. The building and the garden are very nice. Hotel is close to NEC, it's dog friendly, close to the shops and provides hot food in their restaurant&bar. Reception, Restaurant & bar staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. Dining room and cutlery are nice and clean. Food was hot and tasty. Thank you.

The room could do with a bit more cleaning but the bed was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom light and the room light were connected. Using the bathroom over night disturbs the other person who is asleep. We would prefer a radiator in the bathroom.

room, comfie bed, bath to chill out staff very good - sometimes problems understanding desk staff, multi national food excellent - ( staff quick to clear unfinished food on plate getting wine . coffe. relaxing bar - !! new layout and liked tables to use computer i will stay again jon

lighting in room oh yes - both downstairs toilet's are in urgent need of renovating taking out 2 urinals The cleanliness of the floors in the very small toiles need attention Mainly when there are functions which showcase the holed as a conference centre so pleased te driveway has been tarmacked

The car parking system was easy to navigate, and that was sorted as soon as we arrived. Room was lovely and comfortable, and my large dog managed to find a comfortable corner to rest in. Plenty of tea and milk, (thankyou!) And the grounds were lovely to walk round, despite the inclement weather!

The only issue we had, upon arrival, there was a wedding celebration, and the music was extremely loud in the reception area. It did make communication to staff difficult, and the dog was visibly upset. (uncontrollable shaking) I had to take him outside to calm down, and wait for the queue to fade before we re entered. It did die down after approx 20.30 but even in the room we were in, it was very very loud.

It's a labyrinth, which is quite fun. (I did see one disabled lady with a stick struggling to get up the stairs while searching for her room, so it was less fun for her. Don't know why her room wasn't on the ground floor, but just flagging up to be careful if you have mobility issues.) Room was fine and seemed clean. I like a light continental breakfast (not a fan of full English) and there wasn't an option for me to have that at a reasonable price. But the hotel was nice, staff were helpful, price was excellent. It is an old building and has some areas which are glamorous while others feel a little tired. Not much to be done about that though - and personally I like the character.

The locality was good, the room size was good, parking was close by.

To start there was no trolley for bringing luggage in. The charge for the dog was not stated at booking or added on to booking, advised once at the hotel. Messages sent to hotel were not answered prior to arrival. There was no where that we could have a meal with the dog in our presence, was told we could have meal sent to room but there was no table to eat at, or we could leave the dog in the room whilst we ate in the restaurant. No plug in the sink in the bathroom. Glass table was not stable and as we had a dog and would not leave the dog in the room for safety reasons. Hot water was not hot, only warm

Beautiful looking building with stunning gardens. I really enjoyed my time here last November. The place really has a yester year look about it and it was more to my liking than expected. I'll be returning in March for another NEC show and have just booked a quick one night stay on my way to London in a couple of weeks. The food was excellent also.

Can only give my experience as I find it but the bar staff really could do with better job skills as I was disappointed with the long wait I had for service on one of my nights stay. Let's just say multitasking wasn't there strong point.

We were accomodated above and beyond fr my mums 93rd birthday .the staff went out of there way to provide a extra bed fr carer as mum has alzheimers which made a big difference to us . The hotel was beautifully lit and decorated especially in the entrance .the staff were all very friendly and helpful and the locals we met were too ..My sister used the pool which was lovely and warm ..the cpoked breakfast and drinks were lovely too The entertainment we saw., Tommy Holland as Elvis was also excellent .we will be coming again .thankyou so much to all who made our stay such a happy one .

Some Old fashioned 3 pin plug socket in bedroom . Plug in jacuzzi bath didnt fit so couldnt use it . .should hv told staff bt was very happy with stay other than tht so didnt .
