I loved this hotel. It's a beautiful old historic building set in a lovely quiet location yet less then 10 minutes away from Coventry city by car. The pool is great, I really enjoyed it, there is also a gym for those into fitness. The inside of the hotel has character, it's a piece of history unlike modern standard block buildings. I read the bad reviews on the condition but I don't find it bad condition at all. For a building of its age it's very well maintained. Room was lovely and clean, again I'm surprised by the negative reviews on cleanliness, it was great, large TV, kettle, iron, ironing board, hairdryer, shower room, large storage cupboard and wardrobe, quite a big room. The grounds are lovely to sit out in good weather. Bar has outdoor seating. All in all this is a fabulous hotel, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and I would definitely recommend it. Excellent value at that price for a spa hotel.

Doesn't have a lift. Long walk upstairs with baggage.

The staff are extremely polite and helpful. I also had a lovely room with all the facilities I needed (hairdryer, iron, fridge, coffee machine etc). The bed was comfy and the room was really clean. I have stayed a few times at this hotel but the room I recent had was the best one by far. You get what you pay for if you upgrade.

There's nothing I didnt like.. perhaps the lack of socket spaces but being a seasoned traveller, I always take an extension so I can charge my phone beside the bed.

I've rated this as 'exceptional' for the fact it was £59 per room per night! if you have high expectations for that price then move along to the next hotel price option ;-) Very nice grounds, loads of parking, friendly staff, bar prices not bad, very attractive entrance lobby with great décor.

The room was dated which for the price was acceptable but the range of unpleasant smells between fire doors and the room when you walk in isn't so good, it did make sense why the window was wide open when I arrived, not that I was able to lock it shut as the latch was broken. The images of the food looked so bad we didn't chance the evening meal and went to another local venue.

This hotel offered lovely surroundings. It was bright and comfortable. The room was spotless and the bathroom had been modernised since our last visit a couple of years ago. The evening meal offered at a lower price upon check-in was OK. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice and presented in a buffet style which was the same for the evening meal. There are very nice grounds to sit outside and have a drink or two at very reasonable prices. There is ample parking so really no worries there, though just remember to pop your vehicles registration into the touch screen at reception so not to receive a parking fine.

The room was huge, very very clean, beds were comfortable and there were two armchairs (pet hate of mine, only one chair in a double room). The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was good, we had a buffet for breakfast and lunch both of which were well cooked and hot. The whole place was kept clean and tidy despite there being a wedding each day of our stay so lots of people coming and going. The gardens are lovely. I have seen comments about the potholes in the driveway but we did not have an issue and it looked recently tarmaced. We went with an open mind having read the reviews and the hotel definately exceeded our expectations

The only issue we had was that the shower was over the bath and there were no grab handles to help get in and out. It was a very large "spa" bath with the taps in the middle and slopes at either end which did make it difficult to climb into, a couple of hand rails would be much safer

Beautiful grounds and big car park which was free for hotel guests. Room was spacious, the bathroom was huge with a plenty of space to put toiletries and the shower was powerful. Bed was comfortable, plenty of tea/coffee and full sized kettle.

There were only 2 plug sockets in the bedroom, neither were near the beds so was not very convenient. There were only 2 wall lights in the bedroom, one wasn’t working. Two bedside lamps but the switch on one was stuck together with tape and the light flickered when switched on so didn’t feel it was safe to use. The towels were ‘crispy’ and the bath towel wasn’t much bigger than the hand towel. The toilet paper was cheap and rough. My room was on the second floor and I was pointed in the direction of the lift but found a sign saying out of order on it. Phone signal was bad but there was a £7 charge for WiFi. Info in room said bar was open til late yet i noticed it was closed at 9.30pm. Reception staff were efficient to check me in but didn’t give me any info about the facilities.

We stayed in a very old wing of the hotel in what appeared to be an old house. Property is set in lovely well kept grounds and felt very secluded and private. I think the only thing that let my stay down were costs at the bar. I paid £43 for my room, but 2 JD and cokes were 19.80,just shy of 1/2 the price of my room. 3 course meal £12. Not “top nosh” but extremely good value for money. Would I stay again? 100% yes.

The property is aged and very well lived in. Areas need a bit more maintenance and tendered to, but I wouldn’t say updated,it’s an old building and I prefer hotels with history and character.

Surroundings, facilities and the restaurant - the carvery was fantastic value. The rooms albeit basic we very clean, quiet and the beds were comfortable. Parking was secure and all in all made for a great stay whilst working.

The one thing that we found was that our mobile signal (Three) in our room was useless here, nothing to do with the hotel. In the reception and bar it was good, as was the free wifi in these areas, but as soon as we went to our room everything disconnected. Wifi for the room was available at £7 per device per day!

It's a beautiful place in lovely location. The building and the garden are very nice. Hotel is close to NEC, it's dog friendly, close to the shops and provides hot food in their restaurant&bar. Reception, Restaurant & bar staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. Dining room and cutlery are nice and clean. Food was hot and tasty. Thank you.

The room could do with a bit more cleaning but the bed was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom light and the room light were connected. Using the bathroom over night disturbs the other person who is asleep. We would prefer a radiator in the bathroom.
