I was apprehensive from the previous reviews and was not expecting much. I was however, very pleasantly surprised. My room was spotless. It was newly decorated and had a new carpet. All the staff were lovely. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

£5 charge to park car overnight.. The exrerior appearance of hotel and car park are not very welcoming. I arrived after dark and couldn't easily identify which set of steps led to the reception.

A stay over required because of threatened train strikes. The room was very nice with a very comfortable bed, large tv and large bath! All the staff were very helpful@

It seemed a little remote...

This is the 4th time I have stayed here, and again, I was not disappointed. It is clean, comfortable, free Wi-Fi, and convenient for work. I had a problem with the TV (batteries flat on remote), and this was quickly resolved by the lady on reception. Who I must say was extremely polite, professional and friendly. For the price you can't fault it, another pleasant comfortable stay. I have stayed at 5 star hotels and I have been disappointed. I have stayed here 4 times, and considering what I have paid, I have never been disappointed. I don't eat breakfast or use the bar so can't comment on these facilities.

Friendly and easy check in, nice spacious room, clean. Comfy beds. Lots of spaces to sit inside and out. Towels provided. Room was hoovered and beds remade during our two day stay. Iron in room. Bar and breakfast available. The water fountain to top up drink bottles. Looks to be getting modernised with lovely furniture and deco. The hotel was close to pubs, restaurants, shops, play centres, park... just what we needed (short drive away). All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Big car park. We would definitely use again.

Getting hot water to shower / bath took a long time. Toilet felt a bit unsteady to sit on (room 80) There was a small leak between the bath and toilet. We forgot to mention at checkout. Visitors having to pay 5 pound night for parking. However, it was well kept, secure and lots of space.

I was very surprised about this hotel. I was thinking it would be a cheap hotel that contractors visit and would be old and grubby. However when I arrived in the evening it was dark, i parked in a parking bay reserved for ladies which was nice. The hotel was bright and clean in the reception with straight forward check in. When I got to my very large room I was pleasantly surprised, the room was very clean, I had a bath and the bedding felt nice and clean and new. There is a usb point on the desk. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good value, the staff at breakfast where excellent I had my dog with me so ate outside in the lobby area, they came and asked if I wanted tea / coffee or fresh eggs. Very pleased with the hotel will use again

We had rooms in a newly decorated wing of the hotel, so they were perfect. Breakfast was unbelievable for £9.95: a full English breakfast cooked to order by clearly an experienced chef. My friend said she'd never had such a good omelette in her life!

The first night I couldn't sleep for several hours as there was a continuous booming sound as though there were a boiler room next door, but the subsequent night it had stopped. So perhaps avoid room 70. My friend a few doors away wasn't disturbed at all. We had fish and chips in the evening which was OK but the room with a bar was pretty bare with a TV on loudly in the corner.

Absolutely a great hotel, staff are helpful and friendly which puts a ease to travellers. Not even sure where to start with the hotel. Looks amazing from outside and within the hotel itself. The interior is fantastic with a great colour scheme, both in the room and the cafe. Breakfast was fantastic and the staff were extremely satisfactory and helpful. Highly recommended for large parties, families and solo bookings.

A little out of the way but accessible by the local bus service but would recommend looking at times regarding this.

The location is very convenient for my personal needs, visiting family. The bed was comfortable and the room was large, though with no view from the window because of an adjoining rooftop. The staff were extremely courteous, helpful and promt to meet every need. They seemed to be happy, taking pride in their work.

I found the shower tap difficult to adjust to close after use. Also there was a leak in the hose section so water sprayed in the wrong direction, which I reported. A towel rail would be handy in the bathroom.
