The host is lovely, friendly, and helpful, suggesting places to go that evening. Was easy to get to, even though on main road, it not noisy. It is easy for us to drive into Ulverston and to the zoo the next day. The room was clean, kettle, tea bags, coffee, croissant, and jam each, lovely touch. ironing board, hair dryer in room. Our bathroom was separate from our room, but it was all good, clean, and big.

Would have liked a breakfast if we could have paid extra, but not a big thing we went and found somewhere for breakfast. Nothing we didn't like. Would recommend. Thank you, Sophie.

A beautifully clean room! The property owners went the extra mile for my partner’s birthday with a banner and some malteasers - thank you so much!! The property was in a lovely little town with some great options for reasonably priced food and drink. Bed was comfy, good pillows, good tea and coffee facilities and croissants for breakfast were a lovely touch. Very safe and secure with easy contactless check in. Shampoo and conditioner in the shower. Thank you so much for a lovely stay!

A tiny tiny thing, the shower door leaked, but a large floor towel was provided which was great.

April 2024

Only stayed in one night so not sure if my experience can apply to most circumstances. The staff member we met was great and they did phone me in advance on the day to make sure that they had someone to welcome us when we arrived. The location of the guesthouse is excellent for people who aim to visit the safari zoo. Only 2-3 mins drive from there. It's about 10-15 mins to walk to the town centre, not too far away unless it is raining heavily (don't ask me why I would know about it :D). Parking spaces in on the street on the both side of the street. There were plenty spaces when we were there in April. However, be cautious if you park on the opposite side of the street, as cars don't tend to slow down especially if they are coming down from the hill. Towels, shampoo, conditioner, hairdryers are provided. Plenty hangers and space for hanging wet clothes if there is any. Some biscuits, croissants, tea bags, and coffee are also provided.

It had nothing to do with the host - someone was trying to get in our room in the morning at about 8:30am, I believe it was one of other guests staying in other rooms and misrecognise our room as theirs. They were trying their keys, and only gave up after 1-2 mins, very stubborn..

The place was perfect for what we were looking for. The owners were incredible, the breakfast was perfect and it couldn't have felt any more welcoming. They even provided plates and cutlery for our takeaways in the evening. The room was ideal, a nice size and the bathroom was very roomy. The temperature stays nice, and if it gets a little warm, you've got some lovely big windows to open. The place is actually the owners' home and it makes it all very cozy. The breakfasts in the morning, as I've already mentioned, hit the spot nicely. If you're in the area for the South Lakes Wildlife Park, it's about a 15 minute walk away, and this is the closest you'll get to it on booking.com it's absolutely perfect for the price and for the location!

There really isn't much at all I can say here. If anything, the provision of shampoo and conditioner could be topped off with shower gel too? Although I get the feeling that the shampoo might be 2 in one gel too. It's really nothing to mark down on though as even providing those things is a bonus and a plus mark for me!

Good location, on street parking was easy, excellent shower room and toilet, lovely welcome on check in, quiet

The wi-fi server wasn't showing as available from my device so had to use my own hotspot. Not the biggest problem in the world and I didn't want to go down and disturb the owner as it was evening time. I'm sure they would have sorted it - I just didn't need to make a fuss so used my hotspot. Room wasn't en-suite but I knew that when I booked but the bathroom was my use only and was huge!

Very easy check in via text and phone call, plenty of contact even though we arrived after their latest normal check in. Lovely clean room, very comfy beds, with an ensuite shower room. Parking just outside the property on the main road. End terrace, quirky old property, that apparently was originally a pub. The lovely couple who run it are very friendly and helpful with directions. Lovely breakfast cooked to order. An excellent price for the one night we needed, perfect location for the Lakes and only 1 mile from the zoo we were visiting at 9am the following day. ❤️

Staff were so friendly and helpful but at the same time left us to it which was nice, the room and stay exceeded my expectations esp for the price. My children enjoyed staying there so much they wanted to stay another night

There was nothing we didn’t like. If I had to be incredibly picky I’d have liked more power in the shower it it didn’t stop any of us taking one so was t really a problem at all

The hosts, Sophie and Luke were both lovely. Sophie went out of her way to make our trip memorable even writing down the best route to take around the lake which we very much appreciated. The English breakfast each morning was lovely and we cleared our plates each time so thanks to Luke for cooking our breakfasts. I love the fact all the rooms are named after the lakes they were clean and comfortable. Was close to a high Street so we could get everything we needed and lots of pubs round if you'd like a drink. Good luck to Sophie and Luke with your future plans of expanding and can't wait to see it when we next visit 😀

Booked after reading the great reviews from the previous guests. It really is a lovely warm & cosy Guesthouse in a semi rural setting on the edge of the village. Self check in works well with fab communication from the owners Sophie & Luke who also cooked our amazing breakfast the next morning from fresh in their own cosy kitchen/diner. It shows that they both genuinely love what they do, and they do it well! We ate out the evening we arrived at The Brown Cow in the village of Dalton which we had pre booked a few days earlier, a popular quaint country pub with a large car park and large portions to match!( A pity they hadn’t written our booking in the diary however a table was made available for us.) There is no private car park at the guesthouse however there was ample street parking directly in-front so no issue there. The 1 night stay at No 19 broke up our onward journey to a 3 day break in Bowness on Windermere. We visited The Lakeland Motor Museum en route to Bowness which is the 2nd visit we have had and highly recommend it! A big thank you Sophie & Luke and we wish you continued success! (fingers crossed your “expansion” works out for you both too.😉)Highly recommend and would not hesitate to revisit if ever we head up there again. Love The Dean Family xx

The room was comfortable and cosy, bathroom was big and location perfect for visiting the safari zoo. Didnt see any staff but spoke on the phone and the lady was lovely .

The entrance is less than conventional, tucked round the back down a passage and the stairs not good for the disabled but I should have checked what floor the room I booked was on so not their fault .
