the room and facilities were great apart from not very clean. staff in the bar were lovely and helpful. location was brilliant, did not have breakfast so can't comment on that.

room didn't look like it had been cleaned, there were old newspapers and a packet of opened crackers left in bedside drawers. there was a wet towel on top of bedside cabinet and floor hadn't been brushed or hoovered as there was loads of dirt on the floor. my daughter went downstairs to ask for a brush to brush the floor and was met by a very rude cleaner who was trying to say that she had hoovered!!! the sinks in the kitchen area were dirty and i was even sceptical that the sheets on the beds had been changed??? I did not complain when we were there as we didn't always see staff, and when we did they were very busy in the bar. there was no tv in family room as was supposed to have.

Spacious room, comfortable beds. I like having a proper bathroom too, I’m not a fan of cramped en suite facilities. Excellent central location.

Nothing really, although it would have been useful to know that no one would be around in the morning, as there was nowhere to leave our bag to be collected by Sherpa van. This was quite tricky but we were helped out by the very kind owner of the guest house across the street.

Perfect location for touring this part of the country, the bar food was lovely, and the quaint shops all around walking distance made it that bit more special, book dinner well in advance, esp at the weekends as everywhere get fully booked. I will come back again.

The place is pretty plain but lovely, everything worked for us. Even the shared shower room.

We stayed whilst attending a party in Ulverston. It was like staying in a dorm. But that worked well for us as it meant as a big group we could catch up properly. The room also had a bar still there. Wasnt fancy but was good fun clean, comfy and really central. We would stay again, and would be great for families visiting the area as huge old function room. Ulverston is lovely and lors of attractions nearby. The pictures on the site show what you are getting.

great location, central in town and easy walking distance to all pubs and bars, very accessible and parking on site is a huge bonus

had a disturbance with other guests in the early hours of the morning, not the hotels fault but there was a big argument outside our bedroom door which made it difficult to sleep

I liked the location of it, easy to find and central to the town, close to all amenities & the bed was comfy.

I didn’t like how loud it was in our room which was directly above the bar, it was very very loud, stopped us from sleeping, we could also hear people being loud outside our window whilst they were smoking etc. we didn’t realise it would be that busy and loud, we eventually got to sleep after everyone left and it became quiet.

The rooms were simple but very clean and beds comfortable. Excellent value. All staff wee really welcoming, friendly and very helpful We ate in on last evening eating Tai food. Clearly freshly prepared and dishes individually cooked and prepared. One of the best meals we have had out in quite a while (a nd my wife who is a professional cook, not easily pleased, totally agrees.

For the price not much. We had all that was promised and to the expected quality or better.

No breakfast provided...only on certain days in week.Evening meal fine, staff were attentive.Place fairly quiet.

Window in my room was half open and wouldn't close, even when staff attended to it.Noise of traffic and birds disturbed my sleep in middle of night. No TV?Plus there was no way I could speak to anyone when I left as everywhere was locked and no-one about, but even so stay was value for money.

I'd of liked an ensuite and lots of things but this is a historical building and a friendly B and B.
