Breakfast was good but we missed not having tomatoes and poached/fried eggs at the buffet. It would have been lovely to have been able to order individually cooked breakfasts rather than the buffet. Staff at breakfast were particularly helpful.

A lot of pre-cooked food seemed to be left over each morning after the buffet breakfast. A lot of waste. Breakfast to order would avoid this. This is the only thing we didn't like. The rooms, staff and everything else were excellent. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Comfy beds and clean room. Very clean bathrooms and showers with toiletries like hand wash and hand lotion as well as shampoo and conditioner. Lovely breakfast with croissants and muffins. Toast and eggs beans. Apple and orange juice. Delicious coffee with options for different kinds of coffee like a cappuccino or latte or flat whit etc. nice a strong flavour.

The surrounding area shops are very old and not much nice halal food options. Doesn't seem safe to walk around outside during night as can hear drunk people shouting. Also no room service have to go downstairs to get snacks and drinks but it's still worth it for the price.

Warm welcome from the staff at check in, great location of the hotel and close to amenities. The staff were very accommodating both checking in and checking out. The room and hotel in general are superb compared to the "normal" Holiday Inn chain, and this just a Holiday Inn express. I have staid in a number of HI's over the past 12 months for work. Breakfast was excellent, choice and range of items was superb, fresh fruit available and it was fresh, no awful soft black bananas or dry oranges. Room was very clean, bright and situated perfectly on the front of the hotel.

Nothing too dislike, it's just right as it is now.

This is our second time of staying at this fantastic hotel and we look forward to booking to stay again next year! The hotel is ideally located in the centre of Barrow with various shops, pubs and restaurants within walking distance and has a small car park to the rear of the hotel or you can park in the larger car park that is situated almost opposite the hotel so ample parking is available. Also conveniently located (a short 15 min car ride) to and from the South Lake Safari Zoo which I would also highly recommend going to! The lady on the front desk (sorry I didnt catch her name) who greeted us and booked us in was extremely welcoming and lovely! She was fantastic! The hotel is lovely, clean, modern and stylish! We stayed in room 224 and what a marvellous stay we had again! The room was lovely, very spacious, clean and modern! The bed... well it certainly seemed bigger than a double (no complaints here ;)) and just like last time the beds are so comfortable!! We had a lovely overnight stay in this comfortable room! The bathroom is also nice, modern and clean and again is a decent size. The facilities in the room are decent; iron, ironing board, hairdryer, tea and coffee amenities all provided and as others have mentioned the smart tv's which can be used to chromecast netflix and other streaming apps from your phone to the tv are a great touch too along with the usb charging sockets too. This holiday inn express hotel certainly puts other hotels we have stayed in recently to shame! Breakfast was really nice and well done in my opinion. Plenty of choice from hot foods such as english breakfast items done as buffet style to cold foods such as pastries, cereals, toast and jams and muffins. Also available are a range of hot drinks such as tea, coffee, latte etc. Along with a range of cold drinks too such as fruit juices and water. All in all an extremely comfortable and splendid stay and look forward to staying again next year!

Jess on the desk was very kind and friendly. She offered us to join IHG to get rewards which grants customers a late checkout, which we massively appreciated! The hotel and the room itself was clean, cosy and comfortable. Great feature of casttv so can connect your devices to watch whatever you like on TV. Room was much bigger than we expected which was a bonus! Free fruit and water in the lobby was also a nice touch. Would definitely stay here again. My partner and I have family in Barrow who we visit regularly and have stayed in all the hotels and airbnbs Barrow has to offer. Holiday Inn though is by far the best hotel in Barrow offering great value for money.

Air con was noisy

Very modern looking. Extremely clean in all areas. Lovely food, very plesant staff. Room was great, facing the town hall. Comfy pillows and mattress. Hairdryer and iron available in the room. Bathroom was very modern, soft towels. Loved the body /hand soap, even had moisturiser and conditioner. Free carpark behind hotel, when this was full we used the carpark opposite (free after 6pm). Very nice to have free apples, oranges, banannas, water and orange juice available in reception area. One of the best Holiday Inns we've stayed in.

Liked everything but only one thing missing was perhaps a small bedside drawer instead of the bedside shelves. .

Really comfy and clean and great location and lovely staff.

The two disabled parking spaces were at the back of the hotel and the ramp was on the opposite side of the car park. There is a "grass" area that is next to a raised outside seating area but ideally should be swapped so if you're parking then you can just go straight into the ramp, instead of having to go to the otherside. Or have the backdoor accessible for disabled people so we don't have to go right around especially with no safe walk way from the car. The pavement is too small for wheelchairs meaning we have to go into the road. Having only two disabled spots is disappointing as there are more than two disabled rooms presumably.

The room was nice and clean, bathroom clean on first day, but after that we start to have some issues. The food was good and not to expensive, breakfast tasty and good, with plenty options. The staff from reception was friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was nice, cuz we have all town close by.

The heating was a pain, cleaners did not vacuum in the next 5 days , the sink filled up with water quickly on running the tap, and shower leaking on floor cuz shower screen was too small. On Saturday evening was a issue with kitchen and have to order our food cuz was limited choices.

Breakfast was lovely, however the bacon could have been cooked a little more and it would have been nice to have the choice of pancakes or crumpets to go with the Nutella, jam, honey and marmalade offered . Thank you for the great range of tea, Iove the raspberry herbal! 😃

Just 2 things, the drilling going on above us at 8.am ish , we were on the third floor, and having to pay for the car park over the road as there was no room to park in the hotel car park 😟

Good breakfast with various choices and refilling frequently. The bar / cafe next to the reception provides big bargains on Friday, Saturday & Sunday. The area with lots of charging sockets for mobiles phone & tablets. A very relaxing place for travelers.

The water temperature range & water pressure of the shower was limited. It's a little bit too hot for me at the lowest setting and had to turn on the shower longer time for a complete shower.
