I arrived at 00h, and all the necessary information was given to me beforehand in order to enter the building and go to my room. The room was clean and tidy, with a coffee machine. A very good point is that there is a small courtesy breakfast, with some food (fruits, cereal bars, milk), and this is veeery good considering that we woke up early to go up the Arthur's Seat. It takes around 45 minutes to reach the city centre, by foot. However, there is a bus that stops very close to the house, and it passes regularly. You can also walk around 7 minutes, which will take you to a road with plenty of options. From this house, we are able to access Arthur's Seat from another entrance, which made it a very good point for us. Instructions for the checkout were also clearly given. In terms of price, I can say that it was way more advantageous when compared to other, more centralized hotels.

The proprietors were very friendly and accommodating. This was not a hotel, but a Guest House, so it has that kind of homey feel. It was only a 20 minute walk to the beach, which I highly recommend, especially for lunch and a stroll. Holyrood Park was about 10 minutes away. The shower was hot, and the sunroom was a great place to spread out when your family is sleeping. The area was very quiet--I don't think that I would have liked to stay in the center of town due to the commotion.

The place is a bit far out from the center of town. If you want to be in the thick of things, you might be a bit disappointed.

Hazim was very good. He sent clear instructions as to how to check in, wifi etc, and would reply quite soon if I sent him any issues by text. Having the all-day snacks downstairs was really appreciated as we were out most of the day visiting, and so we were able to snack on something once we got back. It was very cold (we went in November), but he turned on the heating straight away. The location is good, there is a bus stop right outside and it's not far from the centre. We were able to leave our bags in the morning (we arrived towards 10am) and then went out to visit the city.

There are coffee and tea facilities in the rooms but none downstairs. It would have assisted to have coffee and tea downstairs to have with the cereal. A microwave downstairs would also be great. The double bed was small (my mother almost falls off one night) and there was a group of girls who were very noisy. The sink was half blocked in our room, which wasn't great. I reported it but I guess there was no one available to come fix it as it was the same when we came back in the evening.

The Brae is conveniently located right next to a bus stop with a frequent service that runs all day. It is presented beautifully with lovely hanging flower baskets either side of the door. Access was simple via the key safe and the on the go breakfast was delightful! The bed was SO comfy I wanted to bring it home with me! On arrival we were presented with a little breakfast table, made up of some muffins and fruit for the morning and were greeted by the host who was polite and friendly. He made the stay nice and he was easily approachable about any problems!

The only ‘bad’ (don’t like to use that expression as it wasn’t massively bad just more annoying!) was the shower head wouldn’t stay in the holder!

Lovely little place, on a location outside of the city centre. but easy to reach due to the good public transport. A tiny room but big enough for just me, and a comfortable bed. The gentleman that owned Brae Guest House was lovely, and was really nice. Not hard to reach, and always willing to help! I was able to leave my luggage behind so I didn’t have to take it with my into town, as I arrived well before check in. I was able to do the same on my last day, seeing as check out was at 10:00, but my flight wouldn’t go until 19:30.

The only thing I didn’t like was the shower. Didn’t have much pressure, and hung at an awkward angle (the holder was loose, so couldn’t adjust it).

Loved the place, location and specially the owner Mr Kadum. The place has a very warm vibe to it and quite welcoming. Check in and out was very convenient. 2 things that stood out was that owner was quite responsive through chats and answered all questions almost immediately. Secondly they provide basic fruits, nibbles / muffins throughout the day in the living room which was really nice if them. Breakfast timing was fixed but the living room continued to have basic stuff available throughout the day in those emergency hunger situations. Will definitely visit again.

The bathroom was slightly small.

It was super easy to get to on a number of buses, with stops right outside. The room was big so never felt cramped despite there being three beds in it, and the four of us. On arrival, we walked into the room to find lots of goodies to eat on a breakfast tray. The view was delightful too.

The only problem was that the shower would leak. Not from the shower head, but when in use the water would escape and cause the floor to become quite slippery.

The house was lovely and warm when I got in which was great when coming out of the cold. Nice and quiet location too. Very happy with my stay here.

There was a small issue with a crack on a bathroom tile but I told the host and they told me the issue would be fixed asap. Great service.

Easy to get to the centre of Edinburgh, 15 minutes on the bus, £2 for a single. Free on street parking around the property, rooms were basic but clean, warm, comfortable and quiet which was very good for the price.

Only minor issue was the shower button didn’t stay on so you had to hold it to keep the shower on but it worked fine and was a nice shower so I wasn’t particularly bothered.

THERE WAS ALWAYS PLENTY OF FOOD AVAILABLE AT BREAKFAST. THE BEDS WERE VERY COMGORTABLE. THE LOCATION WAS SUPERB.

THE WASH BASIN TAP DRIPPED WATER CONSTANTLY. THE CARPETS IN THE BEDROOM WERE NOT VACUMNED. THE SHOWER HOSE KEPT FALLING - IT WOULD NOT STAY UP.
