Excellent choice of breakfast and love that it was buffet style ... The staff were very helpful and friendly and nothing was too much for them in helping out ... The pool and sauna was excellent and not too busy at the time I was there .... All in all a fantastic stay but on another note £23 for coffee and scones for two was a bit excessive ( 4 small scones with cream and two coffees but no butter or jam ...plus the coffee was tepid and when we spoke to a member of staff all she said was yes I know then walked away .....

The cream teas could have been a lot better and nice hot coffee would have been nice too wash the scones down ...

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel very much. Great location near the main street - Royal Mile. We had two subsequent flights to Edinburgh, didn't sleep all the night and arrived to the city early in the morning. We were very tired and it was highly appreciated that we were able to make a check-in at 11 a.m. instead of 3 p.m. The pool, sauna and gym were very good, the only thing is that the temperature in the sauna could be somewhat hotter :) 70 C is not enough. The personal was very kind and friendly. One more thing that impressed us was the attitude of the personal to the details. I had a birthday during our stay in Edinburg and when we returned to the hotel we found in the room a dish with strawberry with chocolate and sign HAPPY BIRTHDAY! It was so lovely! The bathroom is big. The bed was comfortable.

Central location to the Royal Mile and many other attractions. We were very lucky to have been upgraded to a junior suite and also checked in before time stated on booking. Found the room very warm even though lots of windows, I went and asked at reception and I was given a fan by the concierge sorry did not catch his name but was very helpful and got a fan immediately to my room.( well built gentleman). Loved the little touches like the elemis toiletries and iron and ironing board in the room. A big plus was actually having 2 seats as all other hotels we have stayed have only 1 chair. Loved the fact that we had fresh bottles of water each day and a top up of tea/coffee etc.

No Bathrobes in the room, no slippers in the room, no small fridge in the room.

The hotel is in a fantastic location and walking distance to all the main sight seeing places. Edinburgh Castle was only a 20mins walk! The location is close to many halal restaurants and halal take-aways which was a bonus for us. The staff were so friendly, professional and very accomodating. We would definately stay at this hotel again and have already recommended it to family and friends.

Room could have been more cleaner but I'm sure if we had said something they would have cleaned it and next time we would ask for a room at the front of the hotel to get more natural sunlight.

Staff were friendly and helpful, Breakfast and dinner were excellent. Comfy bed and room was a good size. The hotel is conveniently located for Holyrood Palace, Scottish Parliament, Dynamic Earth and Arthur's Seat and is only a short walk to the Royal Mile. We managed to walk around Edinburgh well from here to see all the sights. Would definitely stay here again if in Edinburgh. Can't comment on the Spa and facilities as didn't use them.

Lovely room although decor was a little tired in places. Staff on arrival brilliant. Very efficient and friendly. Spa staff lovely too.

Shower was a bit dodgy but my husband managed to fix it. Water in the room wasn't replenished every day. On 2 out of 3 breakfasts we had to chase up our orders for eggs and toast. On the 3rd day we arrived slightly later for breakfast but still only half way through serving time, but already they had run out of yoghurts, orange juice and most pastries. Plates were not hot. Although there were 4 staff on duty, only 1 woman was actually working - trying to clear tables and take orders, while 3 lads just stood chatting by the door.,and one was the manager! Not what you expect from a 4 star hotel.

lovely location, easy walk into the centre of town.

I think the hotel was over priced, it was our wedding Anniversary and I asked if something could be put in the room. a plate with 2 strawberries and congratulations written in chocolate arrived, the strawberries were awful. when paying over £400 for 2 nights I thought a little more effort could have been put into this. we stayed 2 nights and our room was missed from being serviced for our second day, we had to request milk, tea etc. we did call reception and were advised rooms are serviced everyday and dud we leans our DND on the door, i said we didn’t and had been out all day, they offered to come then but we wanted to rest before showering and changing to go out for dinner, not what you would expect in a hotel of this standard.

The hotel was very comfortable, and the staff couldn’t have been better - always approachable, friendly and helpful. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room clean and had two comfortable chairs, instead of the one which is too common. It was a bit warm for our tastes, but the windows opened, and there were privacy blinds. Our only issue - a squeaky bathroom door - was promptly and effectively fixed.

Bruce Springsteen playing at Murrayfield the same night (we were not going there!) pushed prices up, availability down, and used up every taxi in Edinburgh! Not the fault of the hotel though, and the concierge did his best to try and manage the situation, and gave helpful updates allowing alternative plans to be made.

We were in the junior suite which was roomy and comfortable. As we stayed for a few days, we didn't want our room cleaned but housekeeping were happy to let us top up coffee, milk and towels as needed. We also received some strawberries as we were celebrating our three year anniversary which was a lovely and unexpected touch. The room had a safe, iron, hairdryer and toiletries - everything we could have needed. Location was PERFECT, so close to everything and a small Tesco nearby for anything additional we had forgotten.

On arrival our original room had no heating and the TV wasn't working. Reception moved us into a new room which was much better.

Great location, far away from the centre to not be disturbed, but close enough to enjoy everything, with a car park just up the road.the bed was huge!

The pillows were very full and quite hard. Didn’t realise there were tea and coffee facilities in the room until we were about to check out! They were in the cupboard, and we never looked. Also the air con didn’t really cool the room down, it always seemed quite a bit too warm.
