I liked everything - there was nothing not to like. The place gives off a relaxed and welcoming vibe, very grunge indie, lovely music, the staff are sweet and helpful, checking on you all the time to ensure you're comfortable and happy. The breakfast is filling and delicious and available until 15:00 p.m. which is a bonus. Location is excellent, just one street up and you're on Canongate, the lower part of the Royal Mile. The room is big and practical with a kitchenette and a large shower, very comfortable bed and pillows and very quiet at night. Room service is excellent, staff are just a Whatsup message away and communication is great. The foyer area for the guests is a great idea, where one can relax in peace, grab a free tea or coffee or some free pick'n'mix.

I liked everything. It is a bit pricey but well worth it. Recommended from my end.

The staff are so sweet, helpful and very welcoming from the moment you arrive (especially the cute girl when we checked in, who reminded me of Dakota J!) and best of all, the all-round feel is ultimately casual! The rooms are awesome - actually, a spacious fully furnished apartment with a supercomfy bed upstairs and all the perks and necessities : 2 TV's, a record player, a wicked sound box, a guitar (!) safety deposit box, full-sized refrigerator, hob, oven and a magnificent minibar plus the famous beer fridge in the bathroom! Everywhere is kept fantastically clean including the bar and dining area. Breakfast options are wonderful and graciously filling - at times we would have actually preferred lighter options but hey, we were in holiday mode! We dined a couple of times as well, having enjoyed great burgers and chicken wings, both which we highly recommend. Ah yes... and the beer... extensive selection, spoilt for choice... infact, I write this review whilst enjoying a Punk IPA which I just bought from our local supermarket 😁

It is located on a side street at the bottom of the Royal Mile, so it is a walk uphill to the Castle and other main attractions in the Old Town (plus a good 20 minutes walk to Princess Street and the New Town). Not many restaurants in the immediate vicinity - the most you will find are pubs along the Mile whose kitchen closes as early as 8 or 9pm. Very disappointing if you willl spend the day out of town and by the time you return you will be limited for dining choices 😔

Location is great, 5 mins walk from station. Lovely reception staff. Beautiful room, lots of nice touches and quirky features. Building has been remodelled to a high standard and retains lots of original features. Breakfast was really tasty.

This was a first time visit and we do enjoy a 'good' hotel. Doghouse did not disappoint. The prices in Edinburgh are crazy, which pushes up expectations to acheive value for money. Literally the only thing I could say on a negative note is that the bed is very small. The room was huge, with loads of space. The bed was very comfy, great linens and pillows, however the bed itself was way too small for the scale and price for the room.

What a brilliant hotel! The location was great, just over 5 mins walk from the train station and just off the Royal Mile. The staff were brilliant - friendly and great service. Our hotel room was exceptional. We stayed in a suite and it exceeded our expectations. The facilities in the room, and in the lounge on the first floor were great. The breakfasts were generouse protions and cooked really well. Drinks options were really good both for beer and wine. Couple of downsides were the noise we could hear from outside and other rooms when in our suite, and the fact that you can't log into your own streaming services and the TV options were very limited. That being said, everything else was amazing and very well thougth out. Loved the refuelling stations! We'd definitely stay here again, and will look out for hotels in other cities as well.

As above, the external noise and TV options could definitely have been better. Plus maybe recycling options for the rubbish. Given they're big on reducing carbon footbprint, this was surpising.

Service from pre check-in to post check-out was amazing; very attentive, friendly and fast. Food was great incl the £5 loaded hotdogs avail 24hrs, and freshly cooked breakfast that was served free of charge to the room. Lots of free beer samples, coffee and pick-n-mix sweets. Residents 1st floor lounge with sofas, games and books, and at 6pm each night a beer tasting event. Amenities and details in the suite were well thought out and fun. Location was close to the train station and central for sightseeing. Would def stay again and recommend to others.

The bed in 204 was a US queen / UK king (a bit snug for us) and wasn't the most comfortable (a bit too hard and bouncy for us). No elevator / lift from ground floor bar / check-in to 1st floor (although staff were more than happy to carry suitcases up for us).

I can't believe what an amazing building this is. We stayed in the rooms with the lofts, and they are gorgeous and very well appointed. Each room had a turntable a guitar and lots of nice little amenities (I used the hot water bottle to sooth an aching shoulder). The guitar has a tuner on it too. The mini bar area is very well stocked, and it is quite reasonable priced. They want you to have a beer, and they're not going to make you pay £10 per beer like some hotels. We also got a keg in the room for a little bit more money, and there are of course the famous shower beers. The decor is really cool too--all based around their funky art they use for the beers. Even if you are not a big beer person, it is a great place to stay, The restaurant downstairs has delicious food with really nice portion sizes, and the breakfasts were included with our room--full breakfasts right off the menu, not a sad hotel breakfast. I especially recommend the vegan breakfast. We also got a free welcome beer and a free beer for not requesting towel laundry, although housekeeping did come every day to make the beds. They are well staffed and have lots of chill, friendly people there to help you out. Even if you're not staying at the hotel, go there to hang out in the bar or for brunch. They also have a nice terrace and patio to sit outside. The hotel is just a 10 minute walk from the last stop on the 100 Airport Bus, and it's really close to all the downtown sights. We were able to walk to just about every attraction from there. Finally, I have to say that it's a nice and quiet hotel too. It's on a quiet street, and the walls are very thick, plus there's two doors between you and the hall. I slept great there. Definitely a nice place to stay for anyone wanting to explore Edinburgh.

I had a little trouble figuring out some of the room setup. For example, I couldn't figure out how to turn on the towel warmer or how to have the reading light on without having every light on in the whole place (there are a couple of system switches that turn everything on and off). But I never asked the staff, so that is on me. Overall, everything was just incredible!

From the moment we arrived at the BrewDog DogHouse everything was fantastic. We received a complimentary drink on arrival we weren't expecting which was a nice touch. The staff were super friendly, so much so that it felt like you were arriving at a friends house. The suite was also fantastic. The DogHouse has a very funky decor, is super clean. The Full Breakfast will certainly set you up for the day, it's huge and well worth paying the extra for B&B. Location is great, walking distance to all the sights, bars and restaurants. And discounted parking at the local NCP car park. Couldn't ask for more.

Nothing of note.

We spent two nights at the DogHouse and loved every bit of it! We arrived early and dropped off our bags at reception, returning at 15:30 for check in to be shown to our room (with bags already there) and to have the room facilities explained to us and any questions we had answered. The room was fantastic, exceptional facilities and super clean. We purchased the Punk IPA package which made the whole experience even better - it was lovely to come back to the room and pour a pint after exploring the city. The hotel is in a great location too, very close to the train station and the Royal Mile is on the doorstep. To top it off, breakfast was superb. I opted for avocado on sourdough and it was one of the best vegetarian breakfasts I’ve had. My partner thoroughly enjoyed his full English too. Thank you DogHouse Edinburgh for a great stay!

Great hotel that welcomed doggie guests without the fuss like other hotels do. Really friendly staff and great stylish rooms with amazing food - loved the wings and the breakfast pancakes. Would definitely stay again.

There were a lot of extras in the room like food and drink that it would have been nice if a few soft drinks been included and not charged. Also it appears that there was only a lift from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor - would have been good if one from the ground floor to the top, as quite a lot of stairs for bags and being pregnant.

Lovely staff and great location offering a unique experience and a fantastic, spacious room. The extras like the record player and borrowable totes/umbrellas were a nice touch also. All in all, good value for money considering what you get. Hotdog room service was a cool extra when coming back early in the morning.

Just some picky constructive feedback for the hotel (overall it was fantastic though). The shower seemed to go from very very hot to scalding although I imagine this was an issue confined to our room (205). Since the shower beer thing is such a big USP it would've been cool if the water flow was a little more powerful instead of a pretty standard shower-head. There are loads of extras although it would have been nice to see a few slightly more reasonably priced (£6 for a bar of Tony's chocolate for example)
