The location of the hotel is quite good, easy to find and no more than 15 walk to Princess Str. or the steps to the castle. There are shops and restaurants nearby. The atmosphere is business and the breakfast offers a large variety of options, including 10 different cereal flavours, something our little one appreciated 😀.

The room could benefit from some updates. Like the thermostat that after 5 days I still did not manage to control effectively- it was too cold or too warm. Also in similar hotels you now get a Smart TV rather than an old flat TV with not many channels.

Modern, clean and comfortable. The food was good and reasonably priced

The parking: the car park was not opposite the hotel. You have to drive half way round the block to find the entrance; I had to park -2 level as it was full and the lift didn’t work. That meant two trips to take my luggage, which I had to haul up three flights of stairs. I recommend leaving your luggage at the hotel before parking. I reported a foul smell emanating from the toilet. I was told there were no spare rooms and I would have to stay in that room on my first night. There was no update the following day and nothing was done to clear the smell. I felt that the staff at the desk weren’t really interested. The offer of an air freshener would have been appreciated.

Very comfortable with a nice, spacious room. The breakfast was worth the money and the fact that they have an agreement with a local car park made parking easy and secure. The staff are friendly and responsive. We appreciated the fact that the location is a bit out of the center of the tourist action. I would stay here again.

The light switch to the bathroom was overlapped by the sliding glass door and should be on the other side of the door. Not a huge issue but did make for waking up your partner if you needed to use the bathroom in the middle of the night.

The room was spotless. The staff were very welcoming and pleasant at all times: we had an issue with being given the wrong room, however this was handled imminently and exceptionally well by staff who were apologetic and gifted us with a free bottle of wine. I would never mark down for this as accidents happen and staff were continuously amazing from reception staff to bar staff. The room was also exquisitely clean and has one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in, giving some of the most relaxing nights sleep ever.

The TV I feel, today, should be a smart TV or have a chromecast option. There is seemingly an apple TV airplay option however it didn’t work and was not recognised on any of our devices so we couldn’t use it- also a lot of apps were not compatible with airplay anyway. Also, we couldn’t get the phone in the room to work to contact reception. Finally, there is a menu on the desk that indicates the 24hour availability of some catering options for room service, however when we tried to order these options, we were told they were unavailable as it stopped at approx. 9.30pm

Very good for its price point. Really friendly and lovely staff. Seating area in foyer very nice - very pleasant to sit in. Room very clean and attractive

There was a damp smell on the corridor of my room which was unpleasant and off putting. Luckily no impact on the bedroom which was very nice but get this smell fixed ASAP. Duvet too lightweight and there is a weird the way it is wrapped around the sheet to avoid putting a cover on it. I appreciate this keeps costs down (and therefore price) re time/cost changing beds but it makes the duvet too short for the bed and I was a little cold.

Staff very helpful when we arrived in Edinburgh. It was too early for us to check in so they were happy to store our luggage for us . Room was lovely. All the little touch’s with vanity bits supplied, very nice. It was lovely to see slippers and dressing gowns there. All very good.

The pillows!! Also we had to ask for teabags for the room!! The breakfast although was plentiful with choice, the bread could be more variable. The milk machine was always empty so had to keep asking! Did not like the drinks machine, horrible!! What happened to the good old way of ordering tea or coffee!!

location was great, very clean facilities and the staff were friendly. The bed was sooo comfy as well and the room was fantastic.

they only thing that let down a major hotelier was the fact the kitchen wasn’t open on Sundays so no one could get room service or food in the restaurant. I know chefs need time off etc but you’d think the kitchen would of been open which I thought was a bit strange so not sure if you can get breakfast on a Sunday morning. breakfast cost £17.50 which is a lot when you can nip round the corner and go to a local cafe Loudons which there breakfast was really nice and affordable.

Such good value for money(we stayed on a Sunday & Monday so prices were prob cheaper than weekend prices). Bed was comfortable and the room was nice and spacious. We didn't have food here so can't comment on that but our first day we arrived in early about 9am, was too early to check in & we asked if could we order some coffee and they told us to help ourselves to the coffee machine that's in the breakfast area, I thought that was really nice of them. Walk to Victoria Street is about 15 mins. We didn't pay for taxis anywhere and there's also a Tesco express beside it if you want snacks. Would definitely recommend this hotel

THE STAFF! Amazing people, ALWAYS polite, and helpful! The location is great, as you can get to most places on foot - max. walking time 20-25’. The room, as well as the premises, were very clean. The breakfast buffet had a good variety of options, and was restocked continuously.

The space of the room was too small, especially when the couch/bed was open, we could barely move in the room. Also, the fact that the door of the closet was also the door of the bathroom, which did not shut very well, made it impossible to have any privacy.
