Location was great, the twin room has its own bathroom facilities. Shower was powerful. We had read the reviews and were worried before we got there. It's actually not that bad. Decor a little dated and need freshening up in places. Towels were clean, bedding was clean. Overall, it was ok. I liked how you didn't have to speak to anyone to get to your room. There were room locks out side and you are messaged with your code and room number.

Our room looked like it was missing curtains. The sun was bright in the morning with just blinds. The water pressure on the sink was poor. But these are just minor, it didn't really impact negatively on our experience.

The instructions to enter the property were very clear and easy. I liked that I was able to check in/check out myself without needing to meet someone! The room was very clean and had everything I needed for my stay. I was on the top floor, which did get warm, but the fan and the large open window were plenty to keep the room cool, not to mention the great view from the window! There were multiple rooms at the property but I never heard or saw anyone my entire stay. While it's not in the city center, it's location was in a neat part of town near lots of great food and cafes. I enjoyed the nice and quiet morning walk about 3 blocks to get some coffee to start my day. If I visit Edinburgh again, I would definitely check to see if this place was available!

While it wasn't an issue for me, I did need to carry my luggage up three flights of stairs on my own. I could see this being an issue for someone with mobility issues, but I imagine if you reached out to the owners they'd be willing to help! They clearly care about their property and service, so I'm sure they'd help. The bathroom was a tad small, but it didn't cause any issues.

We had a pleasant stay in a clean room with a convenient bus stop to the city centre very close by. You can also walk to the city centre (about 20 minutes). The room, although small, had everything we needed. We booked room number 7 which is a little more private and has its own bathroom (would definitely recommend).

The room’s temperature was a bit hard to control. Perhaps it’s just because of the size of the room, but putting the heater between 0 and 1 already made the room extremely hot. So the only other option was to turn it off completely (not ideal in freezing mid-January). Because of this, the size of the room and the carpeted floors, the room feels a bit stuffy, although it didn’t seem dusty to us. The water pressure wasn’t great either.

Amazing place to stay a few days in Edinburgh. Amazing location, the rooms where nice and there was some breakfast items included like coffee and tea. There’s also a microwave and boiling water machine. To enter the property you receive a key code, so there is no check in like in normal hotels.

The rooms were a bit old and the decoration could be better. However, taking into account the price per night this are only small topics that the management could consider to improve in the future and make the stays even better.

Very easy check in, was messaged over all details prior to checking in, the bed was very comfortable, was in a great location to get into the city centre, and easy travelling to the murrayfield stadium. Room was full of amenities including hair dryer, microwave, kettle and supplied with coffee, tea and sugar.

Thought it was expensive for what it was, while I enjoyed my stay and everything I did in Edinburgh I don’t believe this is worth £120+ a night. I would pay £80-100 in future. Wish the bathroom wasn’t shared

It was in a good location w good cafes&restaurants around. It was also 2mins walk to the bus station where you can get on a bus the the very central. As we stay in the ground floor at the room 1, it was very comfortable to carry our luggages. Additionaly the facility had everything which a family basically could need.

The water in the shower was going very hot unexpectadly nut once you experience it you manage. It would be much better to change it before anyone else get hurts though.

The hotel staff is incredibly friendly. I messaged the hotel to inform them that my flight had arrived ahead of schedule and inquired about the possibility of dropping off my luggage before the official check-in time. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a response within minutes, and they graciously allowed me to do so. While the bathroom was on the smaller side, the towels and bed were clean and comfortable, providing a cozy stay. Additionally, having a water boiler, instant coffee, and cream in the room was a wonderful added convenience. In terms of location, I feel very safe to stroll around, even during the late hours of the night. There are several pretty good restaurants and a Tesco Express just a few minutes' walk away.

Nice homely feel.

It was nice but I found that staff weren't around much, so when people used the shared bathroom (which you share with 2 other rooms) it was sometimes left dirty with wet towels, hair, and packets of things left around from the previous user. I think the cleaner (who was lovely) only came once a day. Also, there were people shouting and laughing very loudly one night until quite late and there were no staff members on site to report them to. There's no reception, and as far as I'm aware, there's no contact number to report these things to. There were also people using a hairdryer at 5am, which definitely isn't the hotel's fault, but having some signs around to remind people of common courtesy might help remind some guests that there are other people trying to sleep.

We did not meet the staff but the communication was perfect: the key was in a locked box. Residence 57 gave us a comfortable single room unit with an ensuite show/bathroom. The beds were very good and all the appliances worked (including coffee machine and hairdryer). The shower was hot and sufficient towels were provided. The location is excellent, being about 15 minute walk to the old part of Edinburgh. Our unit was up one flight of stairs which was no problem. At night it was quiet. We were there two nights to see some of Edinburgh and it was very handy location.

We had a very warm welcome from mr kalied we arrive early and was able to Access our room, mr kalied gave us clear instuctions on the proticol of keys and security of the door which was very reassuring. Our room was clean and cosy plenty of tea and coffee ect, bathroom had a nice large shower soap shampoo and conditioner also hand washers by the sink a nice comfy bed. Near to all the amenities 10 minute walk, we asked for extra towels and milk and the young lad who worked there was very polite and helpful, would use this property again great crash pad. Although the room was a littles small it had every thing you needed.

There was not anything not to like it was clean and had everything in it that you would expect.
