Room was very clean, beds were very comfortable which was brilliant after so much walking during the day. We didn't miss not having a breakfast. We got a lovely welcome and thankfully we were able to leave our bags in the Amryllilis guest house on our last day, while we went out for the day, as our flight home wasn't until after 10pm, so we were grateful for that.

The only thing I could find "fault" with it, was that we were unable to close the window. But it turned out that the weather was so warm that we were glad to have fresh air coming into the room!

I love the cleanliness of Amaryllis Guest House. It is in close proximity to buses, shops, and restaurants . It is a very beautiful and cozy place with a lovely garden. I would definitely recommend Amaryllis Guest House to any person visiting.

What I didn't like is that it does not serve breakfast. However, because of its location they are many shops and restaurants around whère you can obtain breakfast which is quite reasonable and within walking distance.

It was quiet. The fresh fruit and bottled water on the first night, was a nice touch. The property is in easy walking distance of a good choice of restaurants.

The bed and pillows were uncomfortable. If you want to watch tv in bed, you have to look sideways. The bathroom is tiny, with very scratchy towels. We turned off the radiator and opened the windows as there was a big duvet on the bed, but then the blinds banged on the frame all night long. Definitely not worth £150 per night.

This was a great find in a city full of incredibly expensive accommodation. Cathy met me at the door upon arrival and gave me some basic guidance on navigating myself to the city and local public transport. She was also great with answering a couple of questions prior to arrival. The room is small, but sufficient for a solo guest, and the ensure bathroom was very modern and clean, with an excellent shower. The bedroom was clean and had a nice little tea and coffee tray, with a kettle and a selection of fruit. There is a television with all the usual channels, and a working, lightweight hairdryer. The bed was comfortable and was made every day. I had no problems with noise or any other disturbance during my stay. There is a lock on the bedroom door, so you can feel secure when leaving the room. You can reach the Old Town on foot in about 15-20 mins, and taxis and buses are easily available. I'd really recommend this place to anyone looking to spend a few days in Edinburgh - it's comfortable, clean, and in good reach of the main city, with pleasant and friendly hosts.

Very minor - the bathroom sink is long rather than outwardly wide, and there's a glass shelf right above it, so I found it a bit tricky to wash my face and brush my teeth. It would be great to know if fans could be made available for guests in warm weather as I think the room could get very warm.

The twin room was so spacious and bright, the pics online don't do it justice. Really nice touch to have water and fruit in the room too and the host provided an iron and ironing board upon request. Lovely stay, close to the centre in 10 mins by bus. Only not giving 10 as it was a bit far to walk, but that wasn't an issue at all. Great breakfast options down the road. Great value for money in a city where room prices are exorbitantly high. Recommend!

Cathy was a fantastic host who showed great understanding and compassion. The place is located in a peaceful area, and the room has wonderfully comfortable bedding that makes you feel at home even when you are away from your own. The hosts are able to provide you with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Accessing public transportation is a straightforward option to consider.

Nothing :)

The room was comfy, the shower fab, everything was very clean…beautiful building…as was the garden. It was very peaceful seeing we were pretty near everything. The hosts gave us a map and told us where everything was and what buses to catch etc. 15 minute walk to Haymarket St.

Not having breakfast wasn’t an issue as there was plenty of cafes and restaurants…purely personal, I would of loved a coffee machine!

This wonderful guesthouse is located in the Tollcross area and allowed for easy access within walking distance of many of Edinburgh’s iconic highlights. It was clean and warm and very quiet. Wonderful places to eat nearby as well. Perfect for a solo traveler. I will visit again.

Warm welcome & attentive host. Room was clean & comfortable, had the best nights sleep there

A basic breakfast would have been nice. Perhaps a help yourself cereal or something so you could have something to eat before setting off for the day
