A very good place to stay. Great breakfast buffet. Great staff. Nice room and bathroom. Close enough to most attractions with hop-on-off bus nearby. Far enough away from the tourist 'swarm' to be quieter.

Absolutely no parking near by. You get a discount for parking. 5-10min walk away at the Castle Car park - public and probably not that secure. There is a small drop off zone at the front of the hotel but its busy and there wasnt space when we arrived during 'peak hour'. Its all 'do-able' but just takes that little bit of extra effort and planning.

Hotel staff very friendly went above and beyond to be helpful. Very clean and rooms re-cleaned and beds made daily. Big comfy bed lovely bedding. Room very big and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and great choice. Good location.

Our room was a bit noisy when the gym was in use unfortunately (located right next to our room) and people started to use it at around 6.30am - luckily no one used it early in the morning the other 2 nights of our stay so was only an issue one night. Hotel cleaner needs to knock before entering guest rooms, one morning cleaner just unlocked and walked in.

When stopping at a Double Tree, you know what you are getting and the room's standard. All expectations were met. I would stay there again.

We drove, but it wasn't made clear on booking.com that the car park for the hotel was a nearby NCP, only 5 min walk away but with bags, etc would have been nice if it was a stated distance from the car park to the hotel. We were told we could leave the car out front but it was noted that no stopping in this area. As we were unsure if we may get a ticket etc we parked the car and then carried out the luggage to the hotel.

Amazing all you can eat breakfast, beds were also very comfortable. Staff were all very happy to help, and gave service with a smile. I requested a bath as I am 7 months pregnant without a bath at home, and they fulfilled this request no hassle. Room was very clean. View of the castle from our bedroom was an added bonus!

The bath in our room, the plug wouldn't stay closed so it was a constant battle to get the water not to drain away! Also some noise from street, but this was to be expected with such an old building with very large windows. No other issues at all.

The staff were brilliant. Very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was excellent. Room was exactly what we paid for - castle view, it was a bit noisy though but I'm assuming this was because of the old windows. Location was perfect

I only have the one gripe as such but this is more a personal thing. My biggest pet peeve is not getting drink served in the correct glass. To get a pint of Tennants served in a Corona glass is just mind boggling. When I questioned the bar man he said "we don't have any Tennants glasses". I find that unbelievable that a hotel chain like Hilton didn't have proper pint glasses to serve the appropriate pint in.

We would like to thank every single member of staff at the Doubletree hotel for making us feel so welcome and for also being so friendly and helpful. The whole team should be proud of themselves for the service that they provided. You could see how smoothly everything ran throughout our stay within the hotel and if we needed anything everyone was friendly and approachable. We couldn’t fault anything at all. Everyone went above and beyond to make our anniversary so memorable and we won’t forget it. I can’t recommend this hotel enough. everything was brilliant

Callum, on reception is a credit to the hotel. His smile, friendly helpful chat and efficient manner started a lovely stay in this hotel. It was warm and welcoming and although the room wasn't large, the beds and pillows were comfy, the room and bathroom spotless and a view of the castle was a bonus.Breakfast was well organised and nice to have hot food cooked to order and a nice choice for all tastes and a good three hour time slot available for those who like to have a lie in. Housekeeping was excellent. All done and dusted (literally) by 10.30am.Location is good....a five minute walk to Usher Hall and the theatre and only a few minutes more to the bottom of the castle. Very pleasant hotel that I hope to re-visit before too long.

Welcome warm cookie a nice touch. Beds soft (which I personally like). Tea/kettle facilities in room, hairdryer, iron and board, mini fridge were all clean, all the bathroom items I could want were included. Staff all excellent, Breakfast manager was attentive and professional. Reasonable breakfast choice on buffet with warm choice of meals that you can order separately.

If I’m honest, porridge, pancakes, waffles and breakfast coffee were underwhelming. Rice pudding lukewarm and seemed undercooked. we didn’t complain because we didn’t want to make a fuss and the staff were so nice.

Superb hotel! The most comfortable beds, big fluffy towels, great shower, lovely cosy room with great decor. We had a fabulous cooked breakfast in the morning. Staff were friendly & very helpful, they also let us leave our cases there after checkout so we could explore the town a bit more without luggage. We also had a view of the castle from our window. Just a 10 minute walk into the castle area which was great! Just a really lovely hotel all round. Will definitely be back again. Loved it here!!

Excellent staff. we arrived for our anniversary. We were given a free breakfast upgrade which was a lovely gesture. We had a corner room which again was great and spacious, there was a bottle of fizz and chocolates in the room which was absolutely amazing and unexpected. We felt to special and looked after on our latest visit. Thank you Doubletree Team you are outstanding xx

Toilet door handle hanging off and also the door stopper in the toilet is coming away from the wall.
