If I can just start off with describing one feeling: waking up to the smell of newly baked croissants, just imagine that. This is exactly what you will get at Ians and Davids lovely Guest House. A lot of care went in to every corner of this Guest House (comfort in room, service, the 'made on order' breakfast, the interior decoration, the welcome prosecco, all the sustainable choices etc.) which you can clearly see when you overlook their reviews (it's not just me thinking so!). You'll also get a true feeling that they really care about each and every visitor they get, and want to make sure that you will have a lovely stay with them. The beds are super comfy, the bathroom very modern and fresh, the amount of electrical outlets/USB-ports (even USB-C!) was great. The breakfast was so nice, with home made bread and croissants. Location wise this is a good spot to explore Edinburgh from, with a bus stop right outside (we used our legs a lot though!). Highly recommended, and probably the best Guest House I ever stayed in!
Nothing really!

So much attention to detail, thoughtful hosts, tasteful decor, delicious breakfast. I can’t belueve how lucky I was to have booked this place without much thought and then end up meeting the loveliest hosts. Ian’s homemade bread was yummy and David was really great about giving me directions and recommendations. I felt really well cared for. I stayed in the room with an external bathroom but it was so easy to use plus the bathroom is pretty big and super nice. Location was also really convenient, I could easily walk everywhere. Other guests were also very kind and respectful.
Hard to think of anything, really. Everything was great and I had everything I needed plus more.

Stayed here while in Edinburgh for work and it was perfect. Ian and David were such lovely welcoming hosts and the guesthouse is immaculately maintained. My single room was incredibly comfortable with great touches such as hanging space for my clothes and USB sockets for charging. I was really impressed with how well they had arranged everything so that even though it was only a small room, it had everything I could have needed. The private bathroom was huge with a brilliant shower, and while it wasn’t an en suite it wasn’t an issue at all to nip out of my room and across the hall. They even thought to provide a robe for walking to/from the shower which was a very thoughtful touch. Breakfast was delicious (especially the home made bread) and both hosts went to such effort to make sure everything was perfect. Ian even gave me a pep talk when I was feeling nervous about a big presentation I had to give that day! A gem of a B&B and I would recommend it to anyone.

The Castle Park Guesthouse is a great place to stay whilst in Edinburgh. Ian and David are great hosts, kind and welcoming with terrific recommendations for local tours and restaurants to try out. Upon arrival I was given a glass of bubbly which was a nice welcome as well as some beautiful places to visit and to walk to. The interior is decorated lovely and you can tell that they have made a great effort to modernise the property but still keep a Victorian feel. My room had everything I needed, tea making facilities accompanied with biscuits as well as enough room to store my belongings including hangers and a hair dryer. The bathroom was immaculate and had extra touches including shampoo, conditioner and shower wash. The breakfast was an absolute delight, delicious and filling - customers get a great insight into Scottish cuisine and they make their own bread! Overall Ian and David make you feel at home, kind and friendly and I look forward to going back!
Not much not to like.

Newly renovated, nicely furnished, friendly guest house. Ian and David were welcoming, available, and helpful, with excellent tips and pointers on Edinburgh in general and the local area in particular. Breakfast was very good ("Lorne sausage" is an acquired taste, but it was not compulsory). The fresh bread at breakfast (baked in-house by Ian) is a lovely touch! Location is decent for access to the Old Town, with a very pleasant 15-20 minute walk to the Royal Mile. The regular buses cut that time in half.
My only quibbles were that my single room at the top of the house, having sealed windows, was not especially well-ventilated, so it got a little stuffy. And the bathroom being separate from the bedroom was a slight inconvenience (but the bathroom itself was spacious and very well-appointed—the shower in particular). Neither was a serious issue.

My husband and I really, really enjoyed our stay at Castle Park Guest House. Our room was beautiful, modern, and spotless - as was the whole place. The bed was super comfy. The room was so quiet, which was important as I am a light sleeper! Breakfast included cereals, yogurts, juices, etc. and hot breakfast (with haggis and blood pudding). Location is great and within a 15-minute walk to the National Museum of Scotland and 5-10 minutes to Bruntsfield Place, where there are lots of great cafes and restaurants. Ian and David are absolutely fabulous hosts and made sure all our needs were met throughout our entire stay. Thank you so much, Ian and David! Highly recommend.

Great little place, its a 20 min walk to the national museum which is great because can go sightseeing at the same time. The people there are amazing, help out as much as they can, extremely warm and overall super nice. The room was ideal with all the necessary things, my bathroom was private but outside which meant i had to cross the hall but wasn’t bad at all, I felt comfortable enough to go using my robe they provided. The breakfast was really great as well, i really enjoyed it and If im ever back in the city I would stay there again.

Absolutely loved my home away from home! Ian and David were such lovely hosts, super friendly and helpful with any questions or requests. The fresh cooked breakfast each morning was lovely, and nothing beats the smell of freshly baked pastries! My room was a great size, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Easy walk into the old town in a safe feeling neighbourhood as well.. I will definitely be staying here when I'm next in town!!

We really enjoyed our stay. Ian and David were great hosts - welcoming, friendly and helpful. The whole place, including the room and bathroom, was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Delicious freshly cooked breakfast with plenty of menu choice, including vegetarian/vegan. We particularly appreciated the attention to details such as providing a variety of teas and snacks in the breakfast room, minimising food waste and providing a recycling bin. Very convenient location for walking to the castle and old town, and an easy bus journey to/from the main train station.

Really well looked after by our hosts, this is a beautiful and spotlessly clean guesthouse. Breakfasts were individually cooked to order and were delicious. We were really taken by the vegetarian haggis and the home baked bread.
Room could have been a bit bigger for us but we recognise that we had in fact booked their smallest. Despite this it was very well organised with an excellent and clean bathroom. It was very quietly situated at the back of the property.
