I like coming in after night shift first thing I do is get a coffee ☕😚 have something to eat then bed. As everyone else is going out for the day. Kitchen facilities you can cook a snack or Sunday dinner or send out for Deliverooo😂. Staff are all lovely helpful nothing is too much trouble Shower rooms / toilets are clean perfect hot power showers. Lounge seating areas for chilling or chatting with like minded people if you wish or quiet contemplating of where & what you are doing that night or next Day. Close to Haymarket Train Station. Two minutes away from nearest bus to anywhere in Edinburgh. Or 15mins walk into City centre. Or get an Edinburgh Black Cab ....... Or Uber/Private hire.... Everything is just what you need. Now I've given a great recommendation. I will probably not be able to book my stay for the week 😛 Price for stay at Hostel is appropriate Don't price yourself out of business Busy all the time not just high day's & holiday.s ..... Good value for money. Comfortable safe & secure is what you want & experience. 💪🤣🍾❤️

When I come in off working night shift instead off allowing to book in at 2pm. 1pm would be kinder would allow few hours sleep before leaving for work approx 4pm Start 6pm until 6am. Back here 8-9am?. However the rooms have to be cleaned etc it's same in all Hostels in Edinburgh.

I requested a lower bunk and it was granted! The location is good, especially ease of accessing public transportation to the historic city sites, main bus station and airport. Starbucks across the road was a big plus for me! It was my first hostel experience, and it was positive. The things I found "annoying" are unavoidable when there are multiple strangers sharing a sleeping space and bathroom. The bathrooms were clean! I had no problem with a line for a shower and there was plenty of hot water, but I am an early riser, about 6:00. The 12-bed all-female dorm room was tight on space for luggage, but we all made it work. A bit higher price per bed and 10 beds instead of 12 might be something for management to consider. I did not use the kitchen. Staff did laundry for guests at 8 GBP per load, wash and dry. The staff was very helpful and kind. I will not complain about the stairs because they aren't that awful and the fact that there are stairs is not a secret!

I think it is time to replace the carpet on the stairs and in the hallways. It is an old building, so it is hard to complain about the electrical, but one area with several outlets for charging the electronics for 12 people is challenging. For me the lighting is not sufficient, but that is due to my poor vision. One light fixture on the ceiling is not much, but again, it is an old building and may at some point need a wiring rehab.

Friendly and welcoming staff and place, as well as very clean property, with provided kitchen facilities and amenities such as free coffee and tea, whilst the hostel is organising different events on the property for the guests, there is also a comfortable garden in the property where you could relax.

Many people in one bedroom, the smallest number of people (if you single traveller as me) in one room is 21 and/or other option is a 6 dorm group booking (therefore, not for me). There are many volunteers in the place, but is sometimes harder (in my view and personal experience) to organise all the people working, volunteering and staying there. The option of volunteering (i.e. clean bedrooms, kitchen and/or toilets) in exchange of receiving only a bed for sleep, in some cases could be a pros but in other cases it is an actual cons. However, the property was good managed , in my view for the period I stayed.

Mixed gender bathrooms.. that is terrible, no way to sit and do your pooh if you are a girl, listening 2 fellas talking and brushing their teeth

Good wifi connection, comfy bed with plug for electricity and a little lamp, good facilities and complimentary tea and coffee :) cute little garden area too, cosy lounge / réception area with available guitars for music, card games and board games, access to info on bill boards clear and useful :) no curfew meaning loads of flexibility, and safes available for keeping important docs and other valuables safe :)

I'm not sure there were enough bathroom facilities for the number of ppl staying at the hostel, and a tiny little bedside shelf would be useful.

-close to the Haymarket train station,bus and tram station -close to the city centre within walking distance (10 minutes max) -very helpful staff -check-in until midnight -safe luggage storage (free of charge during your stay there and 5£ per day if you check out but you need space to store your baggage for a few days)

-the toilets are mixed-it felt weird -there are only two bathroom sinks for the whole floor -no bedside charging ports or lights -no privacy curtains -no lockers -no elevator

Location , ensuit style facility in my 8 person room. Lift Staff very helpful. Linen and towel available Great study area in the room but as a tourist I did not need this and would have preferred the space increased the bunk section. of the room .

Not being used to city or such a large hostel I found it noisy at night . NB this is the reality of a city not poor staffing or facility. Overhead lighting very bright when trying to sleep after 23.00

Amazing staff, very friendly and helpful! Constantly looking after the place and the guests, try their best to maintin a clean and comfortable environment. The hostel itself was nice and in a convenient location

No fault of the hostel but some people weren't the cleanest when using bathroom facilities. I think having a wall mounted shower wasn't the best as I constantly found hairs on the shower floor that I couldn't wash away before entering, so I entered with flip-flops. The middle bunk bed was also a bit small there was no room to sit up and I was constantly banging my head when I tried haha, but I understand I could have moved to a top bunk. I also think having the option for a female dorm and showers would be extremely handy and more comfortable but that is just a personal preference.

Staff brilliant hospitality....... Beds clean comfortable showers clean hot all one requires. Kitchen facilities great free tea & coffee obviously don't abuse it & have several cups a day!.... Price for accommodation perfect for my requirements. No complaints regarding my stay here. As I'm working in Edinburgh but saving for a car Then I can move permanently. All I require is a bed & shower after my 12 HR night shift 🤪🚖 X

I genuinely really enjoyed staying at this Hostel. The staff were really friendly and the hostel was in an excellent location as I was in walking distance to all the tourist attractions in Edinburgh and close to a train station too. Public Transport was very good too. I really enjoyed socialising with both staff and guests at the Hostel it was a really lovely stay. I generally had a lovely stay at this hostel.
