On arrival we were met by a friendly, pleasant and helpful lady named Bev. The decor was fabulous and looked beautiful and was very clean. After a chat we were advised to book a taxi with a return journey to and from the venue we were attending 6 or so miles away. We were given a local taxi number to phone and then shown to our room. A nice start to a lovely stay at The Forest Lodge. The next morning after a good nights sleep in a comfy bed in a quiet room, we went for breakfast and were shown to our table by another friendly member of staff. The breakfast was a good choice of items from cereal and toast to yogurts and pastries with juices as well as tea and coffee. We chose The Lodge Grill from the menu it was well cooked, presented and was good quality ingredients and was really appreciated. On our check out we had another chat with Bev, she asked if we'd had a good night at the venue and if we'd had a good stay at The Forest Lodge, we both agreed we'd had a great stay and would definitely recommend staying here and said if we were coming to the venue again that we would book The Forest Lodge immediately. Great stay, great quality and super staff. Thank you.

everything about the hotel was great very good staff could not have been helpful . the bedrooms very clean ,beds comfortable , bathrooms fantastic . the hotel very welcoming lots of car parking.The breakfast was very good plenty to choose from everything was cooked to order so all food was nice and hot the staff serving very nice nothing was too much trouble. we had a meal in bar on our first night food was really nice again lots of choice could not have been better. the hotel is set a few minutes away from tourist hotspots Sherwood Forest / cumber park.

everything was first class can’t wait to stay again

The room was spacious for a family of 5 and it was decorated to a good degree and it was very clean. The staff were very friendly. It was situated near a few shops and a cash machine which was very handy.

The room hotel also had a bar and restaurant and our room was situated just outside the exit. It was a little noisy when people were coming and going. Imagine this may have been worse if it was a Friday or Saturday. Luckily we were there midweek so it didn't cause us too much disruption.

The staff were very friendly and nice and very nice to the children and reminded there names the children loved it there, they were happy to have there own room. Food was very lovely the restaurant was pretty and clean and breakfast was great went down well with the children as well. We would definitely come back it was right next to sherwood forest to. We really enjoyed are stay thank you 😊

WiFi password didn't work but I never asked so I could have been using the wrong one... tv didn't work in my room but ing the single rooms they had smart tvs..... the room I was in was getting a revamp the day I left so probably fixed now.

Quirky property in a lovely village, close to Sherwood Forest. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and had all you needed for the stay, including tea and coffee making facilities. We had dinner one evening and breakfast - the food was excellent

We stayed during the summer so needed to have the windows open and as our room faced the road there was a lot of traffic noise in the morning.

The staff were nice and friendly, very accommodating for our needs are we were a large wedding party. The waitress at breakfast was brilliant, she couldn't do enough for us. Quality of food was very good aswel. Location wise was great for us, obviously one of the factors when booking along with the lodge looking nice.

Our room was in the converted courtyard, didn't have the best nights sleep very noisy as it's close to the road. Also can hear everything from surrounding rooms as the walls are thin. Although our friends stopped in rooms in other areas of the hotel and they enjoyed it :)

Seven us stayed here the night before going to Centre Parcs. The location is excellent, the village it is in is really nice and the lodge has so much character. The rooms are clean and well presented. The family room we booked for my son, his wife and two children was exceptional. it had three bedrooms and two bathrooms and was so lovely. All of the staff were so so nice and went out of the way to make us feel welcome, even making sandwiches and putting them in their room for my son and his family who were arriving after 9pm. (thank you to Audrey for arranging this) We had a meal in the pub and it was really good. breakfast in the morning was good too. I would certainly recommend staying here.

Nothing it was all excellent.

The staff were impeccable, very personable, great sense of humour and accommodating.

Breakfast could have been better - the breakfast grill was sparse with 1 sausage, 1 bacon, beans, fried egg, half a tomato and mushrooms. There were a several people being served but would have been good to have asked if there were any special requests I.e. how would you like your eggs. The waitress was exceptional though being the only member of staff serving - a one woman show!

The place was spotless clean, I was so surprised to see how clean everything was including the shared bathrooms in the restaurant. I would return as it was immaculate. The breakfast was so good, they had a menu that was very varied and the food was excellent 👌🏼

The only downside is that it doesn’t have any facilities, like a gym or swimming pool and before going to sleep I could hear people going up and down stairs. I think the walls are a bit thin as I also heard someone snore for a bit but eventually they stopped luckily.

All of it really! The staff were all so very friendly and welcoming. The food was delish, plentiful and 1st class! It was really a buzzing place!

Initial check in was a wee bit weird, it took ages for us to find anyone around! However, I think they had just finished lunch service, still could have been better though, as they would have been aware of people coming to check in.
